I love FarCry 3, so i'm game. I wish this was next-gen only, but i'm willing to bet this has been in production for a long time, hence it being multi-generational. I like the idea of a mountainous region this time around. I just hope that we're getting something more than a rehash of 3. Ubisoft has yet to screw up this franchise and i'm hoping they don't decide to start now. |

Quit killing the future by murdering those who still live in the past! Plus 70% of it's profits will easily be from PS3/360/PC. There's still a massive amount of players who haven't moved on or even want to move on yet. |

They should be spending their time pressuring developers to avoid having endings as bad as Far Cry 3's. |

The endings mostly differed by who got to stick a knife into whom. Just look them up on youtube if you want to see them. |

I actually really like the "bad ending". I thought it was perfect and concluded what was going on in the game perfectly. It also gains bonus points for attempting to subvert typical video game stories in the most excruciating way possible. Edited by RPGZero, May 16 2014, 09:42 AM.

As much as I like the "bad ending", I admit that would have been an incredible way to continue the series. |

I still need to play Blood Dragon. I have it, and I loved the demo. I'm just strange on game time. Grahf's ending idea is awesome. |

>Goes to liberate a camp with complete stealth in mind >Releases caged elephant via destroying the lock with an arrow >Elephant proceeds to slaughter everyone in the camp >Earns me a complete "Undetected" reward This game earns my high score of Stealth by Elephants/10 This game is great. The mountain ranges are absolutely beautiful to stare at. The environments really separate themselves from Far Cry 3 due to being far more hilly and because said mountains require a lot more scaling with the help of your grappling hook. And the grappling hook has a nice amount of manual control to it since you can use it to swing. Though, it would have been nice if you could use it everywhere and not just in designated places. The ATVs are nice, though a bit hard to control at first. And the new mini-helicopter thing is very useful, too. I also like that since the game has more houses you can go out of your way to rescue hostages for rewards. I also like that all the stealth kill moves such as knife throw takedowns and jumping knife kills are the earliest things you can unlock. I haven't had a change to ride elephants yet, but I just unlocked the skill for it so I look forward to that. Overall, the game definitely has its own identity. That said, while it has enough to stand on its own, it has to be mentioned that the game does still play a lot like Far Cry 3 (though far more polished). The gunplay, general stealth mechanics, and quite a few other things remain unchanged. The overall technical leap, look, and feel from 3 to 4 isn't as large as the leap was in 2 to 3 (though the huge change in location aesthetics really do help cover that up). I think the biggest problem I have with the game, though, is some of the game design in the early going. One of the great things about Far Cry (especially 3) is the randomness. Sometimes, animals can randomly attack you out of nowhere. Sometimes, they can randomly clear out an enemy stronghold. Sometimes an enemy will catch on fire. In this game, sometimes people will stop to hide from eagles who will attack. What I don't like are these things happening too early and too often. Good game design allows the player to enjoy the game and gain maximum satisfaction with only moderate challenge in the early going because this motivates him to play more. It is THEN that you introduce escalating difficulty and randomness. In my first hour, I found enemies holding hostages killed by wolves as soon as I got there. It left me feeling empty. I felt even worse when a random bad guy began killing the hostages even though I wasn't detected. I would have been okay if this happened as the game went on, but this early? I want the maximum satisfaction of the basic gameplay before all of the randomness is involved. As for people hiding and shooting up at eagles, I feel it happens every five minutes. I also feel the game (though this one is honestly a problem in many games today) has issues in delivering conveyance, in that information that should be made known to the player implicitly doesn't get across very well. Other than that, fantastic game. I look forward to playing more. Edited by RPGZero, Nov 18 2014, 07:38 PM.

Alright, elephants are simply the best thing in the game. You can use your main weapon while riding them (so imagine your main character riding in on an elephant while wielding a bow or a shotgun or large rifle) as opposed to most "vehicles" where you can only use your one-handed weapon. You can press L3 to charge and R3 to get the elephant to lift up an enemy with its trunk and slam him into the ground. That last one is obviously the most fun you will have in this game. I was near a fort and was about to kill everyone in it stealthily. Then I saw an elephant nearby and mounted it. A few minutes later, the fort's troops were nothing but bags of broken bones. Alternatively, people have mentioned that another convenient method is to get an elephant near a fort, dismount it, hide, and plant an arrow or throwing knife in the elephant's butt so that it can charge in and start killing things. Going down the road and a car with three guards all wielding machine guns comes your way? Charge it, and watch the car flip over a few times, killing everyone inside. Tired of those stupid groups of foxes and honey badgers randomly slaughtering you? Run them over with your mighty iron tusked animal. I have yet to experiment as to what would happen if I decided to take on a rhino with an elephant, though. I look forward to the results. Simply put, elephants are the best form of transportation (and mass death) in this game. |

I thought the idea of having an alternate ending 15 minutes into the game was a nice little extra. |

Just started the game. And also just fiinished it. Fastest game ever! I love that the main theme song of the game is one huge pun on how to actually play the game. Just started it again, and for the love of god why is there no option to skip the damn cut scenes, especially the OP movie again. |
