Okay, I'll go buy some, and see if I can't chain you one. Since its for breeding, you care if it's male or female?

Not really as long as it has the hidden ability, Telepathy.

Steadfast is a shit ability and at least with Justified Gallade can switch into a Dark attack, get a boost and then go Mega. Assuming it lives.

And I just nabbed one, with 3 stars in Potential, Telepathy, and Ally Switch as an Egg Move.

I hate it when this happens. Defog Scyther can only be gotten from the HM in DPPt so time to have another journey through the decade.

Catch Scyther in Pearl and teach Defog
Pearl -> Soul Silver -> White -> Transporter/Bank -> X

Unless someone already has one with Defog for me to breed up.

Why do you want Defog on Scyther?

Because M-Scizor is pretty bulky and can come in on most attacks since it only has one weakness (4x Fire) and several resistances. It has Roost and STAB U-Turn so it can stick around for a bit.

I just like having the utility since you're mostly just going to be Bullet Punching things weak to Steel otherwise.

More HAs are inbound. Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott are now available, and Tyrantrum is dropping soon.

I don't suppose you happen to have a HA Scyther do you? I dragged a Defog one all the way from my Pearl but it's also preferable to have the HA on the thing. You know, for the one in a million chance you switch Scizor into a Grass Knot or Low Kick. Heat Crash will asplode it.

Sorry, no. The only one I had was the one I traded with you.

5% encounter rate for Scyther hordes on Route 21 with a low chance for the hidden ability. The route also has scattered showers so every 10 minutes you can't use Sweet Scent until it fades. I found a fucking shiny before I ran into a Steadfast Scyther for crying out loud. At least I got my largely worthless ability finally.

Also got a Cloud Nine Swablu for a nice M-Altaria. Fuck what everyone says I think Cloud Nine is way better than Natural Cure when you're just going to Mega Evolve immediately anyways. Might as well kill the opponent's weather while you're at it.

Makes you appreciate DexNav all the more, doesn't it?

I barely used it during the main game and haven't messed with ORAS post game yet. I guess it's nice but hordes are way better for EV training.

Running out of ideas a bit for guys to make. I fear I'm going to have to start the soft reseting nonsense with the trio pokemon in ORAS.

I was more referring to getting HAs, where it's infinitely superior to Hordes.

The Contrary Serperior event has now started in Europe & Australia, so hopefully it hits the US soon.

EDIT: And it looks like it's live in the US, too! Code is POKEMON497.

Now just gotta wait for Emboar & Samurott.

Life Orb, Reckless, Head Smash Emboar is the only way to go.

I like to keep Flare Blitz & Wild Charge on him, personally. Head Smash seems to miss a lot with me, and after STAB Flare Blitz does more damage, anyway.

Mine ended up Naughty, though it had an Attack of 155 at 50. HP was only around 175, but eh, it's a start.

Yup, always nice to have another, since you can't breed them.

Break only rules created by men, uphold only what is true and everlasting

Thanks for the heads up.

On a different topic, next year is the 20th anniversary. I know the head director said they wanted to finish Gen 6 in an unexpected way, so maybe that will be how they celebrate it. Others, however, are expecting we'll get a "Volcano" Red and "Forest" Green (or maybe "Electric" Yellow and "Ocean" Blue?).

Personally, I think we're definitely going to get another set of Gen 1 remakes sooner or later even if it isn't in time for next year's anniversary and won't get Gen 4 remakes until much later down the line (you can still play Gen 4 games on modern hardware, you can't play the Gen 1 remakes on any). Even though I am part of the crowd that wishes they'd just re-release FR/LG in some capacity rather than waste energy on yet another game that features Kanto, the prospect of Clefable making Lance cry baby tears is pretty enticing. XD
