I like the idea, and that Takumi's in charge for this one. But if we get this in English, I wonder how they'll localize it. All the localized games so far have been set in "Los Angeles". |

Tbh I hope this will be a traditional mind game, the supernatural hijinks were getting a bit too wacky even for me >_> They didn't even bother in 5... |

I actually never got a chance to reply to your reply in the other topic. Since this should technically be our Phoenix Wright/Turnabout Trial topic until more substantial info about this new game comes out, i'll reply here: Spoiler: click to toggle Overall, 3 was the best game, though I think 2-4 or 1-5 take the cake as my overall favorite case. I finished Apollo Justice the other day. It was a good game. Even with a few great moments. But the writing felt like it was missing the level of nuance and expertise to take all of its elements and bring out the fullest potential in them. The material itself was great: Is the current judicial system good enough or is a jury necessary? What is law and how should it be seen? A new attorney who gains a mysterious female magician as an assistant. The introduction of magicians as part of the main plot was added. The problem was that the execution never felt like it never came together in the way it should have. The themes were good choices, but it never felt like they were as developed as strongly as they were in the other games. I like our new enthusiastic attorney Apollo and our magician Trucy, but I felt like their development as characters and their relationship wasn't developed to its fullest potential. And you would think the Turnabout games would completely eat up the idea of illusionist tricks as part of their plot. Attempting to figure out how magic tricks were done in order to solve the crime? Yes, please! But it felt like this game did everything it could to avoid that. And while the last case was excellent, it felt like the final trial ended too quickly. The most lamentable part of the game for me overall was how this game had the potential to be better than 3, but execution fell short. Anyway, i'm currently in the middle of AAI . . . and i'm loving every second of it.
I agree. It may be one of the reasons I prefer 2-4 and 1-5 over 3-5 in terms of individual cases. 3-5 felt like it just stopped short of getting too out of hand with the supernatural hijinks. |

I beat AAI a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed it and enjoyed Edgeworth throughout this entire game. I'm really surprised at how much people don't find this game to be very good. The "final boss" was also hilarious. Sure, that old tree was ridiculous, but his constant nitpicking is exactly what any decently logical person would do in such a situation. I finished Dual Destinies yesterday and I loved it. Sure, it's rough around the edges and it was a bit on the easy side, but I really enjoyed it as a whole. My only real complaint was that the comedy and weirdness felt a little different from the typical Ace Attorney comedy and weirdness. But regardless, I really enjoyed this game. My opinion of Dual Destinies is defined by these: Spoiler: click to toggle
