They do. In fact, that's the main way you get coins on that map; none just appear on the track like on every other course. |

Yes. In fact, they're the only means of gaining coins outside of an item box giving you one. EDIT: Ninja'd Edited by RPGZero, Nov 20 2014, 10:17 AM.

You actually get coins pretty quickly from the charge strips. |

I have two Amiibos (Kirby and Link) and decided to try them out first on MK8. The latter gives a Link-esque costume for the Miis. The design isn't too impressive. The Kirby costume, however, has that helmet which stares deep into your soul. I also beat all of the time trials for the DLC. Dragon Driftway was actually pretty difficult, especially since the most overt shortcut doesn't cut as much time as you would think it would. |

The rest of contents of DLC Pack 2 has been announced. We already knew about the three new playable characters and the Animal Crossing stage., but we now know we'll be getting four new karts as well. As for the rest of the new tracks . . . -A new woods track -A new subway track (based on the Japanese metro) -Big Blue (from F-Zero!) -Neo Bowser City (from MK7) -Cheese Land (from Super Circuit) -Ribbon Road (from Super Circuit) I'm not going to post all of the videos here. Just go to GameXplain. As usual they already have videos of all of the tracks up. Ribbon Road looks fantastic. It and Big Blue are the ones i'm most looking forward to.Also, look for the Easter Egg for "Kung Fu Lakitu" based on the Kung Fu Panda poster on the wall. And Nintendo needs to stop teasing us with F-Zero tracks and just give us a new F-Zero game already. Edited by RPGZero, Apr 15 2015, 09:43 AM.

Baby Park coming back is the only weak point from the 2nd DLC batch. Imagine 200cc on that track, it's going to be either: - Finish too fast if you don't get hit by items - Frustrating because you can't catch up if hit by items Big Blue is definitely the main event. I also really like Bone Rattler and P-wing design. Lastly, they did a great job at Big Blue and Cheese Land music. ------------------------------ 200cc Baby Park Edited by Kohakko, Apr 15 2015, 05:36 PM.

I have been playing the new DLC tracks. I've been really enjoying myself so far. Crossing Cup is okay. The visuals as usual are beautiful but in terms of both artwork and track design the only one that amuses me is Baby Park. Adding a theme park that feels alive around it is great and I've always been amused by a lap 7 loop around a simple track. Bell Cup, however, is absolutely fantastic. While Neo Bowser City is okay, the rest are amazing tracks. Ribbon Road is one of the prettiest designs in the entire game. Super Bell Subway and Big Blue are the main events, however. Both are incredibly well designed, great to play, have a lot of alternative strategies and routes, and take skill to master. EDIT: Animal Crossing's alternative seasons make for some really nice eye candy, especially Winter. The do like the added obstacles in the alternative seasons as well. 200Cc is insane. Some tracks are almost unplayable and most specific/ custom vehicle set ups people dont work on it. |

I watched some friends playing the new DLC on a livestream last week. 200cc Baby Park was a little bit of both those things. It's good that you're supposed to run 7 laps rather than 3 or else it'd be MAYBE a minute long. |

Yeah most of the courses just ended insanely quick. And at 200cc, it's usually better to turn off the items in general. at least it's more fun. |

I just tried 200cc. Wow. There is no way that's 200c. That feels like twice the speed of 150cc. For the first time in a Mario Kart I've flown over the goal post at the finish line/checkpoint. I wouldn't say certain tracks are unplayable, but there are surely certain tracks that weren't build for this. But I suppose it's what we deserve. For years, people have been telling Nintendo that 150cc is too slow. This almost feels like Nintendo saying, "Are you SURE you want it to be faster?" and then giving us this. My typical setup of Rosalina/Standard Bike/Azure Wheel works, but I may need to change something in there as the traction (or was it handling?) that I sacrifice in my build is a bit more of a strain on me in 200cc than it is on 150. I can't see to run 200cc, 8 I only see 150 cc, must be because I don't have mirror mode unlocked. |

Yes, you need a gold cup in 150cc in all of the cups (i'm assuming all non-DLC cups) in order to make it available. |
