While i'm still going to buy the game and agree that the link may have been clickbait, the idea that a game can advertise itself as something and be released as something else as well as the idea that there is no difference between something as being "cheap" or "genuinely difficult" are still bad defensive points.

If I wanted a game where the human enemies were the strong point, I wouldn't be bothering with this game to begin with. If the endgame became that (which i'm assuming it doesn't), then it would be no better than the Aliens: Colonial Marines controversy.

If I wanted a game that was cheap, i'd buy a NES game.

After E3, a part of me believes that SOny of america would pull a dick move like cancelling the localization of it.

They then order JS to remake it in HDD that no one cares about and put it on PS4.

It'd be great if all the cities were small villages in the mountains that no one has heard of.

Springfield, ??????? or Hell, Michigan.

Also instead of cities, keep the prefectures, but for the NA release, change all the names to fast food restaurants!

EU version can have names based off of crappy British food and various fish and chips.

Freedom Wars is getting a patch to deal with unlimited Stun works, and some other shenanigans.

patch came out ver. 1.04

http://www.jp.playstation.com/op/freedomwars/playersinfo/2014/07/update002.html

Enemy spawn rate nerf, and AI nerf in chap 4 through 7.

New control schemes.

Now when u are either melting abductors or dragging them down, u can hold down the circle button instead of mashing it.

Recovery ability added, and added invinciblity frame from recovery and rescue to fix stun lock I guess.

When equiping Flare Knife, range weapon damage bug is fix.

Also fix bug when dragging abductor's upper body, the dragging down guage bug.

Finally got a hold of the OST. It's 3 disks, with a total of around 49 tracks only (14 or so per disk). Listening to it while playing Rag Ace so it's giving me a chance to listen to it thoroughly. Only on track 6, and so far loving it. It...reminds me of the music from the Mass Effect series.

I'm 35 minutes in, and currently only on track 6. Since even though it's less then 50 tracks, so far each one has been in the 4-5 minutes range which is great.

Sat and finished the whole thing. Three damn times non stop. Easily my top game OST of the year. I can't even make a list of favorites, 90% of the OST was enjoyable. The only few tracks I didn't care for were the ones used for unimportant things menus and such.

The music didn't sound like generic crap done with nothing but drums and some trumpets like most hunter games. Actually made soloing these mission in Rag ACE worth while just to listen to it more. These tracks were made for custom track spamming.

To be fair, it's because Freedom Wars has such a different atmosphere from other hunter games that it legitimizes a soundtrack such as this one.

With that said, it is indeed a great sounding OST and the only reason I stopped listening to it is because of my personal preferences to hear all the music in-game while playing before listening to it separately.

That's my problem with most of those hunting games, and especially most JRPGs. I'm just flat out sick and tired of the old world/back water/medevil settings for games. Also because as said, they often tend to have the same copy x paste background music that's 90% drum beats, gongs, and trumpets.

Eh, my thing with JRPGs is that they've moved too far away from medieval settings over the past ten years, at least in the turn based JRPG department. I don't want a simple basic medieval setting anymore than you do, but I like it when they become inventive with it. Chrono Trigger's hybrid medieval setting as well as Final Fantasy VI and Bravely Default's hybrid settings are nice compromises.

I don't mind JRPGs taking place in the modern world or with futuristic technology, but it has to be done right.

Xenosaga master race. That is all. This is reminding me of why I hated and still hate Star Ocean so much. The commercials and everything showed this futuristic era game, but then you spend 99% of the game on some back water planet.

The Kiseki games are alright though. The setting isn't medieval, but not futuristic either. ALbeit does have a few giant robots. It's more of an...early 1940s setting, but with magic and a bit of tech hear and there.

Ugh, Star Ocean. I never got the popularity of that game myself, you never really had enough control over the action to be in any way satisfying . . . and the 99% backwater thing really bugged me too. Why even be sci-fi if you just ditch all the technology in the first twenty minutes?
