Customization is awesome. Also there's weapon crafting and upgrading. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Also I should mention that unlike the demo, the screen shot function on Vita does in fact work. It was the demo that didn't allow it for some reason. Edited by Ovan, Jun 25 2014, 12:03 AM.

Nananananananana http://www.famitsu.com/news/201406/26055981.html It's pretty catchy for a song that is 99% composed of a single syllable. I was close to importing it last night ,but the possible online restrictions were just too much of a gamble. Plus I still have Kiseki, God eater 2, Soul Sac, and the Noire game to finish. Plus i've ended up digging into my PS4 budget, which I'm not too keen on... |

Just a reminder to pre-order the game while amazon has it still for $29.99. http://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Wars-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B00JQI471A/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1403894381&sr=1-1&keywords=freedom+wars Now that it's out they might raise the price to the normal; $4o. |

So, I heard that the difficulty level increase like fuck starting from the mid part of the game. I am happy to know that GE teams still know how to shit on the players. And this thing apparently sold almost if not over 100k copies considering there are 80k players found. |

Sounds to me those people are the one too used with MH gameplay and can't adapt to this. Some of my friends from MH had trouble too when they first touched God Eater back then. |

I think another issue is, they're trying to solo what's supposed to be a cooperative game. |

Can't be helped since the game doesn't have online infrastructure yet, only Ad-Hoc. |

When enemies can stun lock you and you die in a matter of seconds, that IS a problem. There is no way around that other than patching it. When small fry enemies are two shot-ing you but the gigantic enemies are noticeably easier, that is a problem as well. |

they can make the hit detection much more forgiving on the small frys, and take away their new type dodge ability.... *tries to snipe them in the back, and they dodge like Amuro freaking Ray* XD I find the RPG best for the human enemies...cause the splash damage can knock them around allowing either u or the AI to finish them off... That is the same thing happened on God Eater, instead it probably worse there since it's not small fry enemies but boss, and you fight multiple bosses at once on one stage (pretty much every stage on later half of the games goes like this). Getting stun-locked by bosses was pretty common on there, and it didn't even receive any patch until the end because they were beatable. They nerfed the difficulty on God Eater 2, people then complain it's too easy. Some GE people playing this have complained already it's almost as easy as GE2, they are actually wanting the team give back the challenge from the 1st GE. The major problem people having with the game made by this team is they expect this to play like Monster Hunter, which of course will only screw them hard. This is not a game where you kill a single tough boss slowly, instead you are forced to fight against multiple enemies at once that can actually kill you fast if you don't have any preparation or strategy to conquer the stage. |

Then this is a completely different scenario. If bosses can do it, then fine. But small fries stunlocking you? Small fries should be nuisances while you are fighting bosses, not the main thing you should have to worry about. There is far and away a huge difference between beatable bosses having overpowered stunlocks and grunts having overpowered stunlocks. It has nothing to do with strategy. That's just plain shoddy design. I don't mind grunts causing problems. In fact, they should. But what i'm seeing in these videos is just plain absurd. There is a huge difference between genuine difficulty and being cheap and I've played my fair share of both. What i'm seeing in these videos looks more cheap than genuine difficulty. |

Does it matter ? It's still stun-locking you. You might even get out the situation easier because they are just small-fries and you can finish them off fast enough. You couldn't do that to multiple bosses swarming around you. And let me tell you that there were even bosses that was not part of the objective target too in GE, they are just there to screw you while you are focusing on the primary objective. I don't think this is any harder than that. I think the subject to be focused here is not what can stunlock you and what can not, they are both just part of the game object adding to the difficulty of the game. As absurd it might look, lots of people did manage to clear those.
Then the game is probably not for you, is all I can say. The game is made by the same team as GE, so I already expected some of these beforehand. In fact, I'd say they even mellowed down compared to the older days. |

Then it's simply not good game design. Please don't give me the, "then this game is not for you" attitude. I play tons of difficult games all the time. Calling something "difficult" is not the same as something being "cheap". Or in this case, just plain weird. If the developers themselves admitted that there needs to be a counter measure for what's going on in this game and they were the ones who made both God Eater and this game, then something is clearly wrong. It would be one thing if they were ignoring it. But to admit there is a problem most of the time means that there clearly may be a problem. Edited by RPGZero, Jul 3 2014, 06:55 AM.

I'm with Zero. Having such powerful human enemies emasculates the giant bosses that should be the main focus of the game. EDIT: And I should note that I played God Eater, and loved its multiple boss style. This this is a bit much though. It breaks my immersion by basically making the bosses a joke. If the humans are supermen to the point that bosses are slow and weak in comparison, I'm left wondering why the game is focused around those bosses. EDIT 2: I used language a little stronger than necessary, and edited it out. Sorry guys! Edited by ZetaStriker, Jul 3 2014, 07:41 AM.

Just because it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it's simply bad game design. "Objectively" bad would be something close to unbeatable. And you're just focusing on semantics here. Being cheap or difficult does not really change the fact they are just there to force you to put more effort on clearing them. It's not like the game purposely troll you.
Appealing to the masses. Frankly, I don't see any problem on the game itself. In fact, you can probably check out GAF or other places and I'm sure there are also many that agree the game is just "right" now for that. They want the game to actually hit the masses for real this time, even if it means to dumb down the game difficulty level. |

Nobody actually expected it too that players need to fight multiple bosses at once back in GE. And frankly, I don't see why people have problem with human enemies being stronger here than the bosses one. From what I have seen on the game trailer and people playing the game itself, I never really get the impression that the game will actually feature challenging bosses. |

I think the major issue we're having is that the expectation for a game like this is that the bosses are the focus. It's the focus of the genre, the focus of the trailers, and the focus of the missions that I've seen thus far. The fact that humans are as deadly as they are betrays expectations, whereas the multiple bosses in God Eater felt like a logical progression of what that game was doing. I'm fine with difficulty, I actually want it from this game. But I don't want to face the equivalent of having some random lizards taking the majority of my time and energy while playing Shadow of the Colossus. I want the colossus! |

That's the thing. Nowadays, We have people saying another clone of Monster Hunter keep being made and when we get new things like these people said their expectations are betrayed. And we might probably need to look over again on the old trailers and infos, they have clearly implied there will be actual "variety" of mission here. So frankly, I don't see it's a surprise that the boss takes a stepback from the focus and they surprised us with what the game actually force you to put more effort into. Fighting against those human enemies tend to force you to play the game in FPS/TPS style because the gun is indeed powerful in here and you can shoot them while moving too (though I did see someone using melee for these). So if anything, this is quite far from Hunting game and closer to Lost Planet or FPS/TPS games. And for your own mental health, I advise people to actually not take that Siliconera article seriously (Siliconera is just as bad as Kotaku anyway). Here's a better reference and what people who have done that stage actually say http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=842294&page=13 (scroll back to a few pages before for their thoughts on that) Edited by Anata, Jul 3 2014, 08:14 AM.
