Capcom still outsourcing their games, I see.

Frankly, I've ended up caring more about their outsourced stuff over the things they've done themselves all year, so I'm good with that.

Pretty much, haha. The only outsourced game they've got going right now that gets a pass with me is Wayforward's Ducktales.

That being said, some of the original game designers for the first two Strider games are actually involved:

On paper that sounds good, right? Right?

All kidding aside, I really do want to believe this will work out well. I mean c'mon: Metroidvania Strider? Yes please.

Yeaaaaaah... I'm gonna sit and wait for reviews. For 3 months. Then maybe find it on Steam sale for 2 bucks.

I thought it looked pretty good, but the demo they showed was a bit odd. Obviously it wasn't a final build; powerups and upgrades were thrown so close together they were always a room or two away, just so they could give examples as to the kind of progression they wanted to portray. They also made a big deal for a moment out of "look how the fire plasma allows you to activate fire doors and reach new areas!" as if it was a new concept. The core gameplay seemed close to the original Strider though, and the bosses seem appropriate. I honestly think it'll be pretty fun.

Also, random note; I was sitting right behind the Polygon writer as he was writing the announcement article for their website. My friends dragged me out of the room before I could strike up a conversation with him though.

The single shitty Castlevania 2-like? As far as I'm concerned, the original game is the arcade version. Just like how Strider from US Gold never existed.

The game is out to a lot of critical acclaim from fans. I'm going to have to download this at some point in the future.

Just beat this. Great game. Totally worth my $15. In fact, I couldn't believe that was all I paid. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a platformer-hack 'n slash game.

The ending was hilarious:
