I really like the music, One's battle theme especially. I assume it's her theme, anyway. |

People who are familiar with the past games have no idea either. Just enjoy the ride. |

Almost as good as Lowe ^_^

Still few days before I get my copy, but some people have said it's actually not that close with the original two in term of feel. And it's hilariously sadistic... |

Sounds like Drakengard to me. No shame in being unable to match the first game's mission where you slaughter children though. |

Hah, good for me then. Won't need to play the other ones.
I first read that as "Autistic" semi DyslExia, etc. |

Drakengard 1 is awful gameplay wise, but the plot is a cocaine laced madhouse. Dunno shit about 2. Read Dark Id's LPs on the LP Archive. Play NIER though, that game was great. |

According to TheDarkId, Drakengard 2 is a more playable game, but the plot is sadly saner and incredibly stupid. I'm actually reading through his LP of the first game again, I forgot how insane some of this stuff is. Finally, go buy Nier, Zechs. Now. Get all the trophies. It's a beautiful, depressing, wonderful game. Easily one of the best games I've played in the last five years. And it's got one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in gaming - even used some of the tracks at my wedding. The wife demanded it. EDIT ...and also, you can totally double-plat this game if you want to import and grab the local copy. We Americans got a copy of the originally-360-exclusive-in-Japan version of the game, Nier: Gestalt. This one has our title character as a big, burly dad taking care of his daughter. The Japanese PS3 version though, known as Nier: Replicant, features a big brother taking care of his little sister. Completely different character model, though his movements are remarkably similar. However, that change of model also results in more changes to the backstory of the characters, from what I've seen. Either way, though, you'll have a blast. A depressing, horrifying, beautiful blast. Characters are boring, too. Typical goody-goody MC instead of batshit serial murderer. |

Listening to more tracks, I'm sort of conflicted on it. Especially the Boss themes. I like how they start out, but then at around halfway in they suddenly have some stupidly annoying electronic noises/gibberish randomly thrown in that ruin them. 2 examples being 2:38 mark 2:28 mark |

I kind of like the effect, oddly. Drakengard music likes to have this chaotic, weird sound to it. |

Is the music to the older games a similar style or different? Might have to track the OSTs down if they're not dead on the net. |

Drakengard 1 and 2 don't really have great music. Go get Nier's OST as soon as possible however. |

I DL'd the other year, but before I could fully listen to it my HDD crashed. And by the time I ever thought about getting it again, that DDL site purge happened all over the net and it was impossible to find. Any links I ever see now are from sites I've never heard of before and I get worried about DLing a virus. |

Also, I'm looking at spoilers for the game; S3, the Dark Id is going to kill himself if he tries to sort through the plot of this game and what it does to the setting, lol. EDIT AHAHAHAHA. Massive spoilers, but the Route D final boss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNl3hd_cs00 Edited by Homeless One, Jan 1 2014, 11:47 PM.

Trying to find the other Numbers tracks, I found other versions of Two and Four's themes. I guess it's like Metal Gear Rising, and the odd parts will kick in at specific times. Some of the other versions of Two, Four, etc's themes don't have the earlier mentioned changes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw189nulxTw So far as far as their themes go, Two = Five > Four > One = Three |

Going to have to start Youtubing the footage of the older games, just to get the total amusement if I get 3. Ironically I had known about "Drag-On Dragoon 3" for months, since there were constant articles on Famitsu and other JP sites I frequent, But i never knew it was the "Drakengard" series until I saw this thread a few weeks ago, since I didn't know it had a name change. I had heard the name Drakengard years ago, but never actually knew anything about it. |

But I need it in english to fully understand so that I can be prepared to not understand in 3! The raspy breathing/talking voice sounds weird to me. It's like Napoleon Dynamite dubbed a lets Play in Japanese. >.>; |
