There's been a yearly Metal Gear release since 2003 or 04. |

Re releases don't count. And there. There's your gamepaly trailer. http://www.famitsu.com/news/201304/04031410.html All the stuff they showed with ships wailing on each other and 90% of it WAS gameparlay. |

Neat pirate game. What's this have to do with the Assassin's Creed series, again? |

Something, sadly. If this was just a game about plain and simple pirating, sailing the seas, plundering booty and rum, and managing your crew ala MSF, it could have been awesome. But it's an assassins creed game. Enjoy the fact deep in your head that this is just some random guy's memories and you're not really in that world, and that it'll just end up with some DEEP plot people stopped caring about 2 games ago. |

AC games should be an assassin with a gimmick, not a gimmick that just happens to have assassin weapons. The first five minutes of the video are actually not that bad. They're a logical progression in the former as opposed to the latter since the pirate ship is a means to accomplish the assassination. The last eight minutes, however, are the latter. It pretty much has nothing to do with assassins and is just a pirate game. @Ovan: Thankfully, the DEEP PLOT ended with AC3, at least for the most part. The real peeve with me personally, however, is how after AC Revelations they dropped so many of the motifs and teachings that were so central to the first four console games. Not once in AC3 did we hear "Nothing is true, everything is permitted" and of the original main characters, only Ezio was namedropped and that was once. One of the great things about 2 through Revelations is how much it relied on how much of a legend Altair became. It gave a sense of legend through time. AC3 pretty much dropped that. It made the game feel like it wasn't even part of the AC series. Edited by RPGZero, Jul 25 2013, 04:30 AM.

That trailer is some serious trolling. Up until no, almost none of the trailers have talked about being an assassin, assassinations, and templars and focused mostly on being a pirate. That trailer starts by saying, "Hey, at this point in the game, you're going to assassinate a templar arms dealer!" giving you the expectation of some real Assassin's Creed gameplay . . . only for the narrator to say, "Forget all of that, pirate sidequests are much more important!" |

I'm admittedly intrigued enough by what they've shown that I might pick it up, which would make it my first AC game. |

Peace Walker kinda spoiled me on games where you lead a team and such. It's sad that I'd enjoy it more if it had some sort of micro management aspects for your ship/s, crew, etc. Who does what, who fights this/that, who mans the cannons, who's wench is who, etc. Though as it is, yeah, it definitely seems more interesting then the last 4-5 games all were. ACIII wasn't really that big of a change, but here at least they're introducing new mechanics that actually look fun. |

Homes: It's probably a good time to get into it since they are getting away from all the Desmond stuff for this one and the mechanics won't seem as stale. I just hope current console versions hold up. |

They showed more of it today at Sony's Gamecom show. I'm enjoying the comradery MC seems to have with his crew. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCkC6NGkS0Y&feature=player_detailpage&t=4800 It's going to utilize Remote play with the Vita. WOULD be a decent feature maybe if I couldn't stop playing it enough to go to the head. But so far it seems to be PS4 only, not PS3 useable so screw it. |

I was highly enjoying this one...until t they started with the whole assassins and Templar thing. I'm only interested in this as as a pirate game, not so much as a conspiracy theories and stuff happening that's not really happening, VR missions, etc. These men and women.... >Not a single woman shown. Ever. In any of the trailers that wasn't a waitress or probably a lady of the night. |

http://kotaku.com/ubisoft-survey-ponders-an-assassins-creed-free-pirate-1478035897 tl;dr: Ubisoft is wanting to know if fans want a Pirate game styled much like the ACIV game wound up being. Only with more Pirating and more features. I'm wondering why they don't just do more exploring in the timline as well, though. We've had "The Crusades," "Renaisance Italy," "Revolution-Era America," and "Pirates." We could easily do things like... -Ancient Rome/Greece (Admittedly, it's not too far off from what we DO have in AC1/2, but it's still a different setting) -Feudal Japan (Ninja assassins. Which was hinted at in AC2, from what I've seen of the Assassin tombs.) -The American Civil War -The French Revolution -The many, many Russian revolutions -World War II (with the Templars siding with the Nazis. Because.) -The Cold War (be it an actual warzone of sorts, like Vietnam, or a series of missions like Black Ops 1) -Oh, and modern times. Because why not. Admittedly, the more prevalent firearms become, the harder it gets to have this work... but it's not like they can't tweak it. |

I have a lot of people on my friends list who are all playing it, and they pretty much all said the same thing. The game is insanely fun and possibly GOTY for the pirating aspect, management, etc, and no one actually gives any real fucks about it beeing an "assassins creed" game. Guess they all got tired of the same rehashed mechanics of same shit different setting used over and over again, with them just releasing new installments every single year. They've sunk to Call of dooty and battlefield levels of rehash. |

Are you telling me it wasn't obvi? Because I'm pretty damn sure it was. People were screaming for it to just be pirate'n with no AC shenans when it was still in development. Edited by BadBoiu, Dec 7 2013, 02:00 PM.
