My cat's kidneys have been failing for a while, and she stopped eating or even drinking much, so we had her put to sleep today. Short of really expensive medical procedures that would only have helped for a while anyway, there wasn't anything we could do. She seemed to be really uncomfortable more often than not, even though today she was more alert than the last couple. We went to the vet to have her put to sleep today... Even though it was probably the kindest thing to do, it's still a hard decision to make, and a sad one... At times like this, I really wish I had my cat to hug...

She was like fifteen, definitely getting pretty old for a cat.

Sorry to hear it Golux, but remember that your cat has a peaceful rest now.

It's not easy losing a pet you've had for so long. I know anything said right now will just seem hollow, but just know that she was happy and her time with you made all the difference.
