The DLC for Apollo isn't his original outfit, it's a casual outfit. He's already wearing his suit in the PV. |

Huh. Never played Apollo Justice, so that figures I'd miss it's not a classic costume. |

Sorry when I said Apollo I meant Phoenix's original outfit. That was a derp on my part. Though I do like Apollo's casual outfit as well. |

Whelp fuck Capcom.
Fuck them, I like Digital Releases, but not for my portable games, I'm gonna need to get a bigger SD card for my 3DS just to fit it on my card. Edited by Fieryone, May 13 2013, 08:57 AM.

I do as well, but this is hardly a "fuck you Capcom" moment. We're at least getting the game still. I assume that Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright's US version got canned, while we're at it? |

Dunno, that decision lays with Level 5 since Capcom gave them Distribution rights. I hope its not the case but if it is, I'll blame Level 5 for it. |

I don't see what's worth raging about here. We're getting the game; that's far better than not getting it at all. |

Also, the news story Fireyone linked is from Kotaku. Who have a long track record of spewing half-assed bullshit and dumb rumors. Until I see a more credible news source, I ain't believing it. |

Welp. Time for me to gag on my foot again. That said, add me to list of "And the problem with this method of releasing the game is....what exactly?" people. So it's a digital release. I see no problem with this, aside from pent-up frustration at Capcom over how they handled their most recent games. |

While I dislike that this is digital only, I do expect worse from Capcom. If it were anyone else though... |

I really really don't get the complaint here. Capcom has gone on-record as saying that the last game to get released sold worse than Okamiden which wasn't actually a huge seller on its own. A digital release solves a lot of the distribution problems and allows them to keep the game in stock without physical costs which would probably end up biting them in the ass in the end. Basically going "fuck you" here is going "I won't be happy with anything Capcom does." They're releasing a niche game in a format which will allow it to actually sell long-term. That's a good thing. And as far as bigger SD cards go: I got a 32GB card for my 3DS for under $20. This isn't a Vita case where you have to shell out $90 for a big card. Edited by ImpAtom, May 13 2013, 03:23 PM.

That's exactly my point. All of this hatred doesn't feel justified. It's as you say, people are acting like Capcom will never be able to release a game without the release being a miserable failure. |

It's also something I fully expect a lot of other niche companies to adopt in the future. Digital distribution is kind of a dream for smaller titles. It allows them to skip the cost of box, cart and art printing, prevents the need to have physical stock replenished, and allows word-of-mouth to build instead of relying on first week sales. We've already seen this with indie sellers or niche translated games like Recettear or the massively profitable App store games. In cases like Steam (or to a lesser extent PS+) this is even great for the consumers because you get absolutely ridiculous sales which are not limited by physical quantity and thus can afford to do mass-quantity drops. Having physical AND digital is the best of both worlds, but it's also really expensive. People I know at Atlus have basically said that they'd like to move away from physical distribution but don't believe it will work just yet, while NISA and Aksys have already started doing digital-only releases. My only concern is space. I bought Fire Emblem: Awakening digitally, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to transfer it to a new SD card. |

You can. i did. I just put my SD card in my computer, pulled everything off, and put it on the new card. No muss, no fuss. The only time you have to do a full-on transfer is when moving to a new 3DS.

You're all right of course, its probably a bit much for me to go "Fuck you Capcom" on it, and I am still planning to buy it. Its mostly just a preference issue for me, I enjoy having the physical carts to digital copies, mostly because I like the box art, but you're all right of course. My apologies for the over-reaction. The game is still gonna sell for forty bucks though, which still will suck since its a Digital release. |
