That is Bruticus, not Devastator. You can clearly see the WFC Brawl design forming the leg on the right-side before he jumps up:

I'm irritated that I could not see my beloved Swindle clearly before he forms the other leg.

I guess Onslaught was in the multiplayer mode for WFC but I think he was DLC only so I never picked him up. I think this might be him behind Brawl and Swindle:

Blast Off then forms the arm on the left side. Vortex, who looks like he still has some helicopter properties then forms the remaining arm.

You're right, it's Bruticus not Devastator. I wasn't playing attention.

A lot of news sites said it was Devastator instead of Bruticus. I'd say it is natural to think Devastator first since he was the first combiner to show up in the show.

On a somewhat random note. I got a knock off of Devastator at Big Lots for $8. XD

I'm not digging the new Optimus and Megatron. The ham-fisted attempts to make this a TF: Prime prequel aren't sitting with me either. The show, novels and games don't line up at all, but Hasbro seems to think it's okay that it's attempts to create a clear, coherent canon are totally muddled.

Not that any of this has stopped me from desperately hating myself for having sold off all of my current systems. Games like this and Arkham City are mocking me.

I'm thinking Hasbro is trying more for having some common elements to be shared amongst the properties instead of everything being hard-set as the same continuity.

Anyway, here are some artbook scans for the game (including some good shots of all of the Combaticons):

Based on the interviews that have come out since the initial announcement of the new, unified canon, it's been sort of hinted that they're going for more of a G1-esque type of canon, where everything is rooted in the same basic mythology, but where the individual projects can deviate some.

Randomly, I'm now wondering where the new Rescue Bots show fits in continuity. XD

I'm not sure if you've heard this by now, but Rescue Bots is actually in continuity with Transformers Prime, amazingly:

Transformer World 2005

Transformers Prime and Rescue Bots Executive Producer Jeff Kline and voice actor supreme Steve Blum (Starscream, Heatwave) recently took part in a chat session with fans. This great and insightful chat session shed some light on a few cool elements of the series, including the answer to the question - are Transformers Prime and Transformers Rescue Bots in the same continuity?

We can proudly reveal, direct from Executive Producer Jeff Kline himself, yes, these two great shows are indeed in the same continuity! The creative team felt it was important that both shows share the same continuity - so when you see Optimus Prime in Rescue Bots, it means he has briefly taken a leave of absence from Jasper, Nevada.

I love how people are bitching about this.

Because the 1st game's "exclusives" sure remained exclusive. >.>

Never saw this till just now. I'm so glad they're using real music and taking this serious instead of just "lol use the you got the touch guy"

And I had no interest in the 1st game, but definitely interested in this one.

I think G2 Bruticus is awesome. XD I kind of hope that the rumored Amazon giftset version of the War for Cybertron Combaticons will be in G2 colors as well.

I'm annoyed that the game-colored Combaticon set is going to be an SDCC exclusive. :( I'm hoping it will be like last year and available on hasbrotoyshop easily later.

The Metroplex stuff looks awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp0xvgx4w4c

Loved the segment they did on G4 about this, though I was sorta ill that they kept talking over Metroplex.

First game was good, but I got a feeling that this...THIS is gonna be the game that actually manages to be GREAT. Especially if the character creation in multiplayer is as big as they're hinting it is.

Guess they're taking a lesson from Epic's Gears of War trailers and continuing to used licensed music.

I really hope the other Dinobot parts will be available for Multiplayer, since they've basically said Grimlock is the only one we control in the single-player.

I have it preordered at Amazon.

Now I'm just waiting for Amazon to open up pre-orders again on the actual G2 Bruticus they were selling for a couple of hours on Friday morning that I missed. >_<

EDIT: Swoop is available as a pre-order bonus in the UK. He is available for multiplayer only. I'm sure some Dinobots will be available for multiplayer at some point.

Insecticons and Dinobots are going to be DLC for Multiplayer.

A toy of Bruticus in G2 Colors is an exclusive sold through Amazon and Big Bad Toy Store. Amazon currently has their preorder up in case anyone is curious: http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-A1051-G2-Bruticus/dp/B007MCNI30/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342589677&sr=8-1&keywords=g2+bruticus

There is also an artbook that will release separately. I know I'd rather pay $30 and get a good artbook than pay $20 or $30 extra for a tiny artbook that doesn't do justice to the material.
