It is...

I missed the 3rd gen, so I'm not so sure if jumping attacks or rodeo riding are a new feature or it was present in the games that came after P3rd too...

But it's a pretty awesome feat...

Jump attacks are new to 4th gen, the whole terrain thing and jumping is actually the main theme of 4th gen much like underwater for tri/3G.

Despite how much I loved the idea of underwater fights in Tri/3G, I heard it was painful to say the least...

Jump attacks, while looking less 'immersive' (Horrible pun, apologies...), provide more fun and chances for epic moments...

I just need to figure out what are all the things taken into account to go rodeo mode... Jumping and swinging doesn't seems to be sufficient, even if I usually hit the area where the monster spine\back is supposed to be...

Oh shit street sharks on ice! It's also nice to see Rathian jobbing as usual.

I got lucky and found a 1 socket +3 attack talisman. Attack Up Large before I'm even done with 4star village is hilarious to me.

From what I can tell, it has to be a jumping hit that flinches the monster that triggers the mount attack.

Still jumping on Narscylla when she does her pendulum move, starting rodeo AND killing her with that attack was awesome...

It's night and it's freezing right now. Playing ice levels like this kills me.

Speaking of Ice Levels...

Hello, Khezu. *Wyvern Fire TO THE FACE* Goodbye, Khezu.

Haven't fought that thing in, like, 6 years. I can still Gunlance it as if I had just fought it yesterday.

Getting the parts for other things, not for the weapons. The Khezu weapons are and have always been creeeeeepy.

I've only been chugging along because I haven't been mixing it up with other weapons yet. I have 10 different GS trees going but I haven't done anything else yet. Still wearing Velociprey too.

I'll make some Hammers next since I don't think anyone here is doing it and Hammers are pretty important. I'll bear this burden and get better with the damn thing. The timings are similar to Great Swords anyways.

Gunlance and Charge Blade comes after. And Heavy Bowgun comes way later because I don't feel like early game is suited to gunners as well as the constant hit to your income needing to restock ammo.

Still preparing myself for that fight...

Wonder if I should keep the Frog Armor or move on the Nerscylla\Najarala ones...

So I'm a little late to the game but I've hopped back into Monster Hunter due to the amount of people playing at work. I haven't played since Freedom 2 G, or U or whatever for the PSP, oddly enough I'm not as Rusty as I thought I would be. I'm running Duel Blades again, still getting use to the new mode, and the changes in the way stuff combos, but I'm doing decent so far. I just HR2 and Iv'e got to fight a Rock frog.

Enjoy fighting the Chupacabra...

It'll give you pieces for one of the best early armors...

I myself ended up butchering a lot of Rathalos and Rathians to make the Ratharmor and Wyvernblade Fall... Maybe not the best one, but looks cool as hell and will make anything in the arctic enviroment cry...

And so I think I finished the offline campaign?

Well, at least saved the day and got the animated ending...

I assume you just did the 5 star urgent? You can do a dozen or so 6 star quests but at some point you'll need to head online to open up more offline stuff. I'm HR5 and still stuck at 6star caravan for now.

Yeah... I did some online stuff too, HR3 so far, but trying to play these missions with friends so not really pushing them...

I now need to butcher the hell out of Al Gore to get two tails, so to upgrade his original LS....

I got the numbers all mixed up. The 6star urgent is probably what you meant. Im on 8star caravan but will probably get walled soon and forced back online.

I kinda wonder when Monster Hunter will let me decorate my house with the heads of the monsters I hunt. Nothing ties the room together like a Tigrex head. So I've made it to the island of the cats and I'm working away on missions there.

What do you mean by forced online? (let alone forced back online?)

I'm HR2 and at 8* Caravan right now.
