Decided to go Great Sword over Long Sword this game, I might try some other weapons like the Gunlance or something. |

Assuming I can put the time in, S&S and CA are definitely being my weapons of choice. L & GL will probably get a decent bit of use, and I'll probably use SA and LS at least some. |

Anyone knows if there's a way to configure\use L2 and R2 on a Circle pad\Nu 3DS? |

As far as I know, L2 and R2 should just be alternates for L and R. I don't think anything else can be mapped to them. |

You can map different things to them, you can change this in the options. I have ZL for quick chat and ZR for activating target camera. |

Which options? The ones at the begin or the ones once you load a character? |

The menu when you press start in game. It should be on the 3rd page, should say something like Slide pad behaviour. (I don't know what they call it in english because I play the Japanese version) There are 4 types: Type 1 - Acts the same as L/R buttons Type 2 - Acts as left/right on the DP ad (so left/right camera control) Type 3 - Acts as up/down on the D Pad (up/down camera control) Type 4 - ZL = Chat and ZR = Trigger Target Camera This menu is also where you can adjust bow control type and default camera angle and all other stuff. |

Oh, so I can't program something like A+B on it? Shame... Also, I need to have the icon of the cross-pad present on the lower screen to use it\c-stick to rotate or I can still use the c-stick with let's say a Map + Target Camera + 4 quickslot items? Thanks for the help by the way... |

Nah, cause the C-stick behaves like the CPP so there isn't really anything you can do for the mapping. You can customize the lower screen shortcuts also in the start menu. Once you press start you should see 3 options on the lower screen that allows you to: 1) Customize Current Panel 2) Save/Load Panel presets (up to 3) 3) Change position of the Hunter search/Special Attack/Menu (either top or bottom of the screen) |

Yeah, it does different things for different weapons (if your weapon is out). You can also swap menu button with that kick button in the start menu. In which case pressing start = using special attack button. Personally I use this configuration because I find it much easier to use Charge Axe's Guard point with this setup. |

Need to get myself used to the 3DS controls before actually starting to think about how configure the special attack... Does LS still have that 13+ hit combo or they removed it? I remember that one being a great help in MHFU... |

If you came from 2nd gen, the new moves for LS are: - evade slash can go left/right now - roll into stab/evade slash left/right into stab - evade slash into spirit uppercut - Spirit spinslash to increase the gauge You can still do the same combos from 2nd gen, just more variety. |

Nice... And yeah, I skipped the generation after Portable 3rd. Any good guide for the new combo\old ones? Long time since last played and wouldn't mind some list to refresh my memory. |

So, I need thunderbugs, need to make shock traps so I can make my Great Jaggi farming go faster. Since I'm making the Jaggi armor at the moment so I have something better than the starting armor. Also, I want the great bone sword I think, the normal bone sword kinda sucks, loses its sharpness pretty quick. |

I went and got myself the Alloy Armor... Maybe I could have spared all that Malachite and Earth Crystals, but eh... I'm still not too comfortable with the controls so decided to go for the safest route... Also, you mean the Bone GS or the Bone LS? Because I got it to the second upgrade kinda easily right after my first mission... |

I know Gaijinhunter have been doing some tutorial videos (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT84SVapAfSSD_iMfpKbFbA) All of the weapons have gotten more variety since previous generations so it's good to give them a watch to refresh your memory/learn something new. |

Saved under favorite, also took my first Giaggi Hunt... It went unexpectedly smooth, I kinda hoped that 'Monster Cam' was a sort of target lock, but so it didn't seemed... |

I've really been enjoying Gaijinhunter's videos. Currently practicing with LS trying to ramp up my combo ability, before I switch back to CB and SA. |

He even gave a PSA about the Lancers... But alright, it seems I must learn to do that X+A on the buttons rather than on ZR... |

Can I assume that the Hunting Horn isn't especially useful in solo gameplay? |

From what I've seen, it seems to really only be a party buff weapon. |

Hunting Horn is perfectly viable in solo, it can actually do quite a bit of damage especially with the attack up buffs. The reach is also pretty good on it. |

Neat. I want to run through the entire demo with all the weapons, and I wasnt sure if the Horn was worth it. Hafta try it once I'm done with the LS. |

I'm past the first fight with the large Jiaggi or whatever it was called. I want to dive deep into this game, but right now it feels too similar to Fantasy Life which had a lot of the same features (though this game is far better). I need to shake that off and feel like i'm playing this game fresh. |
