Haha, no. I just liked it from older games. Also my sister has a 3DS, which is how I played LoZ: ALBW and FE: Awakening. |

There's just not enough on the 3DS to warrant a purchase for me. And I wouldn't get a game as lengthy as Monster Hunter unless I had a 3DS of my own. Edited by Homeless One, Jan 23 2015, 04:55 PM.

Ah, I see. And same. Just not many that interest me enough. Same with WiiU. Though in that's case either region free or nothing. Same reason I have no interest for Xbone. All the good games for it are multi-plat anyways, and Sony seems to be taking all the much better exclusives. Plus better looking Phantom Pain....Until the steam version murders it. >.> |

Zechs: I thought you already had quite the list of Japanese only 3DS titles amassed? Wii U I understand at least. It's pretty damned barren in comparison for Japanese only releases. (IMO, pretty much just Fatal Frame, Rodea, and Yakuza 1 + 2). Regarding MH4: for the record, I'm planning on rolling with the Samus/chozo armor with an Isabelle costumed Felyne. B) |

MH3U related but finally went back and got the final event weapon I was missing from uber Stygian. That was one of my final goals in the game since 5/7 god charm and complete guild card probably aren't going to be happening now. I might be doing more hunting in the coming weeks before MH4U so if anyone is down for anything let me know. I think my brother was going to be doing G Alatreon runs later today as well. |

Hahah. I wonder who the 169 people are. Are they people with Japanese copies, review copies, or just people who decided to rate it for no reason? |

Isn't Monster Hunter the very definition of unforgiving? |

It's unforgiving in the same way as Dark Souls is in that it'll punish your mistakes and sloppy play without fail. It's rarely ever anyone's fault but your own if you get hit or cart but I don't know if I'd say either is particularly hard though, at least not online. |

It's hard in that its only as hard as you make it, if you go in knowing what to do and make sure to keep on your toes the fights are fun and challenging without being too hard. At least, from my MH3U online experience. |

Mind you guys, I played the two PSP ones (FU and P3rd) and yeah, the vibe was similar to Dark Souls. You need to have proper gears and know your moves but it's not near impossible like a Tohou Shooter or utterly randomic like a FTL Run. |

BUMPing because the game is out, and because I've actually been able to play the demo a bit. Charge Axe is awesome, even though I utterly blow at the game right now. |

I'm getting used to the control scheme myself. Currently, I really like the Dual Blades and Axe. |

Same deal, forgot how the LS went vertical swing and stab... I had grow soft on more action based games and now need to re-learn how to hit the giaggis... |

Right now, I'm having the most success with the basic Sword & Shield and the Charge Axe, though I'm still getting a feeling for the rhythm of charging and when to switch forms. I'm really liking the Switch Axe, too, though I have an even harder time with switching on it than I do the Charge Axe. And while traditionally you'd think I'd love the Great Sword, it's WAY too slow on the swing for my taste. Long Sword might feel better, but the one time I tried it, the limited number of swings kept throwing me off. Randomly, I do like the Heavy Bowgun, though it goes against most of my instincts when I use it. Can't hit anything with the Bow, though. Lance isn't bad, and Gunlance is hilarious fun, but I have such problems with positioning that I can't use them effectively. Haven't tried Dual Swords, Bug Staff, or Hammer yet. |

Bug staff being the Insect Glaive? That thing has a pretty interesting mechanic, I thought that it was a staff which swinged bugs at you but the Kinsect system seems something more... |

Currently using whatever the hell weapons I feel like using at the time. Lowe, Gunlance shines against the bigger monsters since there are a lot of upward directed attacks. Also, it's the only weapon where you can move while blocking. The trick is to put it away, run up to the target, unsheathe attack, then go tanky-stabby mode. |

Switch Axe is great but generally the idea is to just hit things in sword mode while only transitioning to axe to reload or do a hack n' slash. Switching is simple though. Axe to Sword Forward➕ X then R Sword to Axe A then R Unsheathe to Sword Hold R A and X I think I got that right anyways. Trying to remember layouts since most stuff becomes muscle memory. |
