Oh snap, just noticed akito had a friend code and Shal got a new one! Added both of you guys. Do either of you want to be added into the list in the OP of my 3DS friend code thread?

Here's mine, btw:

Sigh....trying to do Level 140 Teo with Random is almost impossible. People just 3 cart left and right within the first 5 min and DC.

Wouldn't you know it but that's what I've been farming too these last few days. I need to level up my own GQ but I've been doing other people's a bit and it's been mixed results.

I've died a few times myself but only because with a slow GS if you get clipped by a blast zone at the start of your charge you're basically dead because of the blight right beforehand. Play flawlessly only for something like that to happen every few hunts so I'm hoping that gemming in Biology puts an end to that shit right away. At least it won't be a 1HKO.

Haven't gotten a damn thing worth keeping yet though, charms or weapons.

I was also farming some Chameleos thinking he would be a simpler fight than Teostra for Sea-King's Sword/Netherblade but the thing gives Flash/Rusty Claymore. Rusty Claymore is cool but I don't really care for Flash.

Hobbes: Feel free to add mine into the thread, adding you back as of now...

For everyone else, I wonder what kind of endgame Longswords the GQs provide... I have given a look to Kiranico's list, but the rank 10\9 list seems to be pretty much all craftable from regular stuff...

Holy shit Biology is a godsend. I don't know why I didn't gem it in earlier. Haven't died since gemming it in.

I also love being signal guy for the supernova. Prevents so many deaths when you signal them to back off.

The top excavation LS stats depend on which sharpness you get, but the top 3 are like this:

Purple Sharp without Sharp+1
・1122 crit -5% ⇒ 10%
・1023 crit 20% def 5 ⇒ def 50
・957 crit 30% ⇒ 45%

Decent purple with sharp+1
・1122 crit -15% ⇒ 0%
・1023 crit 10% def 5 ⇒ def 50
・957 crit 20% ⇒ 35%

Max elemental is 500 (goes to 540 if awaken) and max status is 300 (max of 320 if awaken).

LS is one of the classes with crafted weapons gets horribly outclassed by the top excavation weapons in almost every way. I have yet to get a good one for LS, but they are indeed very powerful. Just lots of grinding and luck required.

As for Teo, people simply just die because they don't know the monster enough/come in with crap defense and try to do it. I don't mind failing the quest, but people that just die and DC just piss me off. It's like.....first you come in not prepared, and then just DC after you die, thanks? >_>

LS is, sadly, also the only weapon I can genetically use in MH... I'm a brutal incompetent with anything else since my days in MHFU (Where I attempted a bit of SnS and DD...)

Well, it's not I have any high rank quest anyway, so I'll just wait for the lucky chance when I join randoms...

I need to farm for decent amulets too...

By the way, anyone knows how far Hearing can get?

Wonder if I can get a good Hearing/something one to try make Kujula a viable choice...

Well honestly, while many classes get outclassed by excavation weapons, the crafted weapons are still viable. My stance on the excavation weapons is just if you get it, you get it. If not, it doesn't matter THAT much.

Hearing goes up to +8 on the first skill and +5 as second skill on the excavation charms.

Found a list on the MH wiki, the name doesn't matter right? All the swords share the same chances for attack, sharpness and elemental?

Yeah it's just the design. Who you choose to farm only affects the cosmetics of the weapon/armor.

Beat The Master's Test.

Fuck that mission. I'm going to go back to my 140 GQs where I feel safe.

To what level the difficoulty actually rise to the next step?

Because I have been in a 136+ Chameleos quest and the jerk started to make moves I did never seen him do? (Mostly that crazed dragonbreath sweep that starts instantly and last for a lot of time.)

Also, a question about armors: I can feed as many Divine Armor Spheres as I want on them, or there's a cap for raising the defense value?

I don't understand the first question. The monsters progressively get stronger as they get higher in level. I know there's new moves between LR, HR and G rank variants but I'm not sure if they get new moves just by being a higher level. I think LR is 1-39, HR 40-79, and G 80-140. More or less anyways.

For armors no they cap eventually. Around 150 defense I believe.

I'll try to explain myself better...

I generally join randoms on 126+ Chameleos, I find him a pretty easy prey with the Parazagged Edge and poison immunity, normally he does a straight dragonbreath move or a front sweep both kinda plain in pattern...

Recently I went with a group of random, I'm pretty sure the quest was around 136, the Chameleos did a weird and crazy move I had never seen him do. Not even in other 'regular' G-Rank missions. It's a crazy long range poisonbreath sweep where he moves his head around like crazy and for a considerably longer time than the regular sweep... (It also hits like a truck even on my G-Rank Azuratha.)

The Cham wasn't frenzy virus'd, it seemed a regular one which did moves that went beyond what I had already seen in G-Rank...

I know what move you're talking about but I think he does that in any fight with him. I don't remember exactly if I've seen it in a normal Cham room or not but he probably can. I can't recall anyone doing anything unique to high level GQs.

And yeah that move triple carted myself and 2 others all at the same time once. He had just tripped me and my camera was in a wall but yeah still sucked. Other than his breath attacks though Cham is a big idiot who just sits there taking punishment.

That and his stealing tongue, but that's more annoying than dangerous...

But yeah, that's why he's my designed target in runs with randoms, it's kinda hard to fail him as long he doesn't do anything jerk-ish...

So far the weapons I like most are:

Long Sword/Katana, the one weapon whose name I forget, but it switches between a sword and shield and a long axe, and I'm undecided what ranged weapon I like most. The Light Bowgun or the Gunlance probably.

Just still doing newb quests, but how the heck do I complete the Sushifish quest? No idea where to go for that.

Sushifish is in Ancestral Steppe right? If so, IIRC you need to go Area 10, to the cats...

Then just fish, they come at enhanced spawn rate and even if it'll take a bit you should be able to get them within the half hour...

If the quest is in Sunken Hollow, then you need to go in the area right down to the first one you can reach from the campsite, you see a poll of water on your left (While coming in) and you can fish here... Just be wary of the Tetsucabra, either kill it or leave the area, run around mining for a bit, return and keep fishing...

The second weapon's name is Chargeblade, arguably the Master Race of this installment, even if I believe that insect glaive is way more broken... I'm more of a longsword player tho, so if you need any advice about that, let me know...

Insect Glaive has the potential to be really powerful, but it's really easy to miss out on the best optimization for the weapon. You need to feed the bug a certain combination of nectar in a certain order and there's no undo.

Yeah, but beside best optimization (And you can still re-craft them anyway...) it has the most powerful moveset with the jump and ride mode...
