The Advantages and Disadvantages of Squadrons; Here's some boring stuff

I want to emphasize freedom in the RP, but everyone grouping up together in squadrons is having me a bit worried. I don't necessarily want everyone in their own little groups for the entire RP, it can limit a lot of the socialization aspects during the non-combat portions of the story. Even in combat, I think it can be a problem, since while having a certain structure is nice, things would probably get kind of dull if the same 3 or 4 people are fighting alongside each other every battle.

This is why I started the RP off with the arcade match, to break the standard military formations and to start a relationship between the Destroid and Valkyrie camps which would probably be isolated from each other if I didn't. Feel free to interact with everyone as you see fit, but remember that you're not limited to the people you've grouped up with in your profiles.

Understandable concern. I guess I did get a little carried away with interacting with the same few people. ._.

Welp, i'll try and reel it in after the competition and start interacting with other people.

Almost as good as Lowe ^_^
I wonder if we should assume that all the PC knows pretty much each other due to having done classes\training\patrols together.

Haha, don't worry about it right now. Just keep it in mind later in the RP. It's more of a suggestion if anything, I don't want there to be problems if for whatever reason your squadmates aren't available at some point, leaving you with nothing to do.

Edit: Shal, that's up to the individual. If you feel it works better, then go for it.

SPIDERS GONNA SPIDE

Well, like I said before, unless someone actually says "I wanna be in your squad," I'm assuming all my squadmates are NPCs. I don't especially like the idea of automatically assuming leadership over other players, since it just makes things messy.

Though, Kay's idea definitely makes sense. While not ALL the players should know each other off the bat, there's a definite logic that the Daewoo students should all be at least acquainted, or that the military pilots should have some degree of familiarity with each other. Unless you're playing someone who's just arrived (which could be fun, too) it just seems like less of a headache to assume some familiarity so everyone can just chill and have fun.
