Caught up on SG. Goddamn, I feel awful now. Especially since I actually chuckled at one point during 13 when Mayuri had gotten hit by the car, and Okarin had somehow managed to escape and run all the way back to the lab to start over again. >mfw these past two episodes Posted Image |

I really wish there was a translation for the game. All the routes are awesome and have huge WTF's. One being Mayuri getting captured by Sern, and sent back in time turning her into a jellyman to scare Okarin spoiler image http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/9779/evm12.jpg |

Well, it might get ported to Taiwan in Chinese. As 5gp and Taiwan Koei had been in talk about bring it to Taiwan for awhile, with the success of the anime, this seems extremely likely. Hmm...reading the preview Neta.. Posted Image Will there be enough episode for True End..or will it be a DVD/OAV special.. |

I just hope they at least give each character like Ruka, Ferris, etc 1 more episode to give them an ending similar to their routes in the game. Especially the bad endings that are too awesome to NOT want too see. Also it it wrong that I kept laughing my ass off at the intro to the episode? Especially at that THWACK sound effect. XD Was hoping they'd get a new OP though. =/ EDIT: Finished it. FINALLY they get to part time workers back story. Though it didn't start till the end of the episode.. But on the bright side, It's barely the halfway point, so woot. |

Hahah, yeah. I freaking lost it at "Sunnava bitch!" I expected no less from Mr. "IT'S A PIIIIINCH!" Also glad it's still focusing on Suzuha now instead of Mayuri dieing another 12 times. Or the other eps where they got 2 episodes and they're never seen again. EDIT: Lol'd at this scene for obvious reasons I'm sure all of us all know already....All 4 of us. >.> Posted Image I still rage at how the show always abruptly ends sometimes. 15 there wasn't even a transition, just the ED ASAP. |

I wonder if the side-story manga about Suzuha is canon. 'Cause if so then her mother was quite the looker. Daru is a lucky nerd. |

It's hard to say. A lot of it is, but there are some major inconsistencies with it. Biggest is the fact that Suzuha never met her father or got the pin that way. But yeah she was definitly a looker. lol at Moe Moe Kyun. As to Daru, IIRC Suzuha's actually only a daughter clone of his, not a normally born one. Which means Daru never betrayed his 2D waifus. Also I want this event. NOW. Posted Image |

Suzuha's story is complicated. Her ending itself in the VN is pretty open ended, and it's never metnioned if Sern was dealt with on her route. Though there is one route where Suzuha apparently commits suicide. Also another where both she and Okarin go to the 70s. And sort of ends there. Other random spoilers for the routes that the anime will most likely not cover. MAJOR SPOILERS.. (mainly small snippets) Suzuha's is a "Fuck yeah, keep on fighting" end. It's the shortest and most open ended one. Faris' is a bittersweet end. Every problem is solved, but a huge price is paid instead. Luka's end is kind of sad, but kind of silly if you think too hard about it. It seems more fitting for a chick flick with time travel. Kurisu and Mayuri's ends leave you wanting more, which is fulfilled in the True End. == Suzuha's end cuts off without telling us if they succeeded in defeating SERN. Feyris's and Luka's ends leaves the characters with no more intention to defeat SERN. In Mayuri and Kurisu's ends they manage to evade SERN's wrath. In true end they deal with a different threat than SERN. == Okabe's heart is torn by the memories he's had to erase along with the D-mails he's undone. All for a sliver of a chance to save Mayuri from certain death. After going out with Luka for a few days, he notices how much more emotionally healthy she is. She's lived 16 full years of not being gender impaired. She's more cheerful, and more honest with her feelings. So he decides that he can't take that away from her, just for the off chance of saving Mayuri from the inevitable. SERN doesn't attack this time for some reason. On her designated death day, the last day of comiket, Mayuri just collapses and dies of a heart attack. Daru freaks out about how creepy it is that Okabe is still calm. Kurisu asks him why he hasn't time leaped to try to save Mayuri, or if he already has, and they're just stuck in the "old" world line where Okabe has left and she's just talking to a shell. Okabe explains to her that he's tried so many times to save Mayuri, but he failed each time. He's given up. Kurisu reminds him that he has an "accomplice" who is also feeling guilty just like him: Luka. Luka also begs him to time leap and save Mayuri. But Okabe explains that he's chosen her over Mayuri. Luka accepts Mayuri's fate, but decides to time leap back to that day and cosplay for Mayuri, so that at least her last day can be a happy one. Back in the present, Luka shows Okabe a picture of the three of them, all happy. The end. Oh yeah, and baby picture after the credits. It's touching with the idea of making someone's last day special, but kind of silly when you realize Okabe's okay with sacrificing Suzuha and Faris' D-mail based memories, but draws the line at turning Luka back into a guy. ======== Okabe doesn't have the heart to sacrifice Suzuha's memory of finding her father, so he instead just time leaps back the two day limit of the Time Leap Machine. Forever. After about the thousandth time, he's beginning to have Cross Channel Taichi-level thoughts of murder, rape, and grand theft since he can just undo everything and start those two days over. After about the two thousandth time, he's completely emotionless, just going through the same routine of "rent bicycles, go cycling with everybody, watch Daru almost get run over by a truck [He had quit saving Daru after noticing he survives without intervention] go to Big Site where Suzuha's parents met listen to depressing story about how it doesn't exist in the future wash and recycle" Eventually, Suzuha notices how he has "the same look" of apathy that everyone in 2036 has. That he's been time looping. She eventually brings color back to his world. He lets all his welled up stress loose and cries about how he's doing this to avoid Mayuri's death, and Suzuha's failure and suicide. Suzuha asks if all of that is true. Then they decide to go back in time to the 1970's to try to find a new solution. Then they ride into the sunset. ========== Faris ending: [Spoilered out some more global spoilers] Faris' D-mail saves her Dad from a plane crash, but tangibly prevents Okabe from obtaining the IBN 5100. Okabe has to make a pretty shitty choice: 1. Erase Faris' D-mail: Mayuri lives(?) and Faris' Dad "dies again" 2. Keep the D-mail: Mayuri dies forever and Faris' Dad stays alive Faris and Okabe try to fuck with fate and take option 3: Supplement the previous D-mail. Okabe experiences Reading Steiner once more. He immediately notices that Akiba is back to normal. Next, he notices that the only phone contact he has is Faris. No mails from anyone either. He goes to the future gadget lab... but it doesn't exist. Neither does the CRT store. Meaning no Time Leap Machine. Not even the Microwave Ophone. He goes to Tennouji's house to look at the Divergence meter, but it shows him the lowest divergence number yet. And it doesn't even have a leading zero for some reason. He fucked up bad. Also, Nae freaks the fuck out that there's a strange mad scientist in her house. She threatens to call her daddy on him. He goes to May Queen NyanNyan, because Daru and Faris should always be there. Faris and Mayuri greet him. He nearly yells at Faris to see if she still remembers him. She reminds him to not be such a clingy boyfriend at work. The other customers will get jealous. "Your boyfriend? Who?" "Exactly. Nyah." Ignoring Faris' usual slutty behavior, he asks Mayuri if she knows what happened to the Lab, but Mayushii Nyan Nyan's surprised that he knows her real name. Also, Faris mishears ラボ (Rabo = Lab) as ラブホ (Rabuho = Love hotel). She's jelly. And so is one certain rotund customer. Hashida Itaru demands to know who this guy is and what exactly he is to Faris. He's only a little surprised when Okabe calls him Daru, but rationalizes that it's because Daru's a regular customer. When Okabe introduces himself as Hououin Kyouma, Daru says "You mean THE Hououin Kyouma? That explains everything!" Daru sorta recognized his face since Hououin Kyouma is the world renowned Rai-Net Battler. The only Rai-Net Battler who Faris views as worthy enough to be her partner. Okabe also asks Daru if he knows Makise Kurisu. He only says that she's a neuroscientist who was published in Science. She wasn't murdered, and there was no satellite crash either. Okabe tells Faris that he has amnesia and they finally talk things out. Faris believes Okabe's story because of her lie detection ability. He remembers her, but nothing about the time when they were going out. Faris nearly cries, saying that it's sad when a loved one gets amnesia because you're the only one left your memories together. Okabe knows that feel. They met playing children's card games. I think Faris was the one to finally confess. They're also cohabiting. She's just trolling him. They haven't had sex yet. He's just living at her place for the summer so that they can train more together for the tournaments. Both of her parents are still alive and trust Okabe enough to let them stay under the same roof. Okabe has her reteach him the rules of Rai-Net. He eventually resigns to this world: Everyone is safe, he has no means to go back, he is the only one repenting for all of his sins, he's got a cute girlfriend, and this game is actually pretty fucking fun. It ends with the two of them stepping onto the stage to fight bald-spot punk Minoru Shiraishi-voiced 4°C. ========= |

Judging from the spoilers I read at a site, there seems to be two different versions of Suzuha. The one in the alpha timeline from the SERN dystopian future, and the one from the beta timeline from the WWIII future. In fact from what I understand, once Okarin reaches the beta timeline SERN is pretty much forgotten at that point. I honestly wouldn't be too miffed if any of the other route endings are ignored in the anime. Most of them sound depressing. |

What's the site? And pretty much most of the routes all have something bad about them even if there is a change, except the True End eventually makes sense of everything, except for something to do with Suzuha. Though I can't remember what the hell it was. She's the odd girl out in the game. Not sure if the sequel has more with her. There also another part about her that part pf what she posted on 2ch were lies to trick Sern. She hints at this as well in 15 when she said "Most" of what she posted was true. Also decided to go through the screens from the sqeuel, Hiyoku Renri no Darling (Though it's really more of a spin off where you can get all the girls) Posted Image |

True, I just have an added stigma against them since, as mentioned, they don't properly conclude things or live in ignorance of the problem. And I think Suzuha's given an adequate conclusion by the end of the game. In both timelines she plays the role of the person coming from the future to change the past, and it's safe to assume that in the True Ending she can live normally in the future. This is the site: http://naomi.thewafflehouse.net/sg/index.html Spoilers abound, naturally. EDIT: That screen is from the sequel? Wasn't even aware there was one. Wonder what it's about. |

Ah, thanks. And yeah, it just recently came out. But that in game screen basically confirms the story from her mother, and that the manga is completely canon. Not entirely sure what it is exactly. I think it just tries to tie some lose ends, and works as one of those games where you get with all the girls in some way. And if what the sequel implies is true, then Suzuha stayed in the present. Wonder if it's the fandisc referred to in this post. Sounds interesting. I'm not likely to play the games, so it'd be nice if it was eventually adapted as OVA material or something. Suzuha staying in the present somehow, presumably in the True Ending timeline, works for me. EDIT: Derp, again. Apparently there's going to be a special on the ninth Blu-ray volume. That might cover some of the bonus stuff. |
