Ok, even if this game turns out to be crap, they've done something awesome: The ability to switch between the unit you're controlling and one of your two wingmen on the fly. The QTEs, meanwhile, at least seem plausible given their context. I mean, it's like QTEs for the Fusion commands in the old DBZ Budokai games. It's silly, but it makes some sense. |

This just looks horrible. It's like they skipped the frames between the start of the attacks and the hit just to give it some crappy sense of speed..... And the trigger system just seem like it takes you out of the action. |

That system looks like both a waste of a time and an unnecessary use of QTEs. |

Wow. Both Astrays, Leopard D, Airmaster B AND both Blue Destiny units? That's almost too much awesome for this game. |

And even more so it's the upgraded units, not the crappy base frames they put into World. |

I like Red Kai and all, but including both it and Blue Second L is kind of redundant.

You know how it is. If it doesn't have a Gundam head or belong to Space Nazis, fans won't give it the time of day. |

I'm In The Zone!

Well, Gundam Memories leaked, so by default, that means I got to play it early. So far, it's pretty fun. Surprisingly, the Exia Repair doesn't seem to be in, but they start you off in the R2 and the second level for Gundam 00 is already fighting the 0 Gundam in the R2. The level after that is Setsuna's first sortie in the film...except they didn't feel like putting in his Flag, so they let you use the 00 Raiser. Yeah...kinda ruins the purpose of the mission. Also, I've played a bit of Gundam Unicorn and it turns out that the Unicorn Gundam is both a long and short type, depending on what mode you are on. By default, the Unicorn Gundam is a long type and the Beam Magnum is a killer, but by activating its special, it becomes a short type. On a general note, it's a bit annoying that ranged combos can only happen when you're standing still. Otherwise, it's pretty basic if you're on the move. Switching between allies isn't so bad either. My primary annoyance is that the D-Pad is for movement, but changing it otherwise makes everything else weird. By the way, it allows custom tracks, though the default BGMs are pretty nice renditions. |

Almost as good as Lowe ^_^

The game feels like ACE, except most if not all the units have the exactly same move sets. Gundam = Exia R2 = Force Impulse. |

Which, of course, defeats the entire purpose of ACE. |

By feeling like ace, I mean your unit always float in the air no matter what. The tracking system for the melee is exactly the same, and the "firing your br while moving = huge ass recoil time" is ripped directly from ace RAGE. |

After some more play time, I've come to realize that the Special Modes, such as TRANS-AM and Destroy Mode, usually only allow additional combos. It's kinda funny, since the Triangle > Square > Square combo is supposed to be the 00 Raiser's combo of a slash and then a kick, followed by a quantize and another slash. Now...when you sort of C&P combos, that means that practically EVERYONE can do this combo... At the moment, I've beaten Gundam Unicorn and Gundam 00 and working on the UC stuff now. From playing Gundam 00, I can say that it's a mix of late S2 as a flashback, but mostly focused on the film. It's odd that they have two missions of Exia R2 vs 0 Gundam. Also, it has annoying objctives, such as protecting the Ptolemaios II from Gagas and ELS attacks, thought the ELS luckily are mostly the GN-XIV clones that they turn into. As for Mission Mode, it's a nice fun mix, but I have no idea how to unlock more MS to use. All I have are the Impulse Gundam, the ReZEL, and the Exia R2. |

True, but it's been a while since we've had this sort of Gundam game and I doubt they would take the trouble to import it. Anyway, I've been unlocking more units for Mission Mode, but it's usually a bitch, since the missions are quite hard without upgrading everyone. Just for Avalanche Exia, you have to fight the Gundam DX, then two other units in the next phase, before finally facing the Avalanche Exia. |
