GURLFRIEND Posts: 5,073 Group: ATX Team Member #3 Joined: July 16, 2005	Macross 9: The year is 2050. 40 years after humanity has left their scarred Earth to colonize the stars in order to improve their odds at survival in a hostile universe. The massive colony fleets are led by the flagships Macross, the human pioneers deeming it fit to arm itself to the teeth as they venture deeper into territories that they have never been before. Macross 9 leads one of these fleets, it's population defended from all manner of enemies. It's military is equipped with the latest in Variable Fighter technology and the behemoth that drags them through the stars seems invincible. But when an enemy from inside threatens their pilgrimage, the armed forces alone cannot safeguard the people any longer. --- Places of Interest: Macross 9: Macross 9 is the name of the of the colonization fleet led by the New Macross-Class Space Attack Carrier of the same name. The powerful ship leads a fleet of ships, most notably City 9, a domed ship holding a massive city where 8 million people of the fleet call their home. There are a variety of other ships as well, including agricultural, factory, and even a large Space Port to provide maintenance and repairs to the variety of escort warships that defend the fleet. City 9: A incredible city rivaling even the greatest ones that have been raised from the scorched ground of the Earth. The advanced technology that the Macross 9 fleet is well-known for is interwoven throughout it's structures to make the lives of the citizens as comfortable as possible. It is also well-known for it's culinary arts and it's hardboiled police force that keeps the peace. It's skyscrapers pierce the artificial sky, led by nine towering buildings that are owned and operated by the major corporations that make the colonization effort possible. Other landmarks include a large river that runs through the middle of the metropolis, adding a bit of natural beauty and shipping convenience to offset the crowded nature of the city and a classic meat factory which helps provide high-quality food to the fleet. The City is well defended in the event of enemy forces breaching the dome, each building required to be able to deploy armored plating to keep it's residents safe in the case of a battle. Daewoo Institute of Technology and Aerospace: A prestigious university where the youth of Macross 9 hope to enroll one day. It is funded by Shinnakasu Industries and serves as a gateway into the variety of careers highly sought after in the fleet. It also unofficially serves as the UN Spacy's academy, with most of it's officers having graduated there and it's students are required learn the basics of piloting, just in-case they are called to serve in a time of need. The latest project of the university is a new-class of escort carrier, the first ship entirely constructed in Macross 9's space port. Nineball Stadium: A large and prestigious stadium mostly used for sporting events and other entertainment purposes. Like the dome the city sits under, it can pull a shell over it's top and serve as a large, sturdy shelter. Coliseum Arcade: A popular arcade home to many games of old and new. It's most famous attraction is the massive flight simulator in the middle of the building where it gets it's namesake, the gear that makes it up has been compared to the simulators UN Spacy uses to train it's pilots. It runs a regular showcase match-up between the best Variable Fighter pilots and the best Destroid pilots in it's Land vs Air series, where the winner gets it's banner hung outside the arcade and often a special prize. --- Factions: UN Spacy: The military force that runs the day-to-day operations of Macross 9 and provides it with defense from outside forces. It is filled to the brim with young pilots eager to achieve glory like the legendary aces that came before them. It employs both humans and allied Zentradi in it's ranks, using military technology from both species to protect their voyage to find a new home. Decatate Zentradi Fleet: A somewhat small, but ruthless regiment of Zentradi warships, Decatate Fleet prides itself on it's ability to wage war. It's warriors are some of the toughest around and they are adamant on fighting to the last breath. Recently, they have been scouted in the path of Macross 9, predictably engaged with an unknown foe. They are run by Decatate, a hulking Zentradi commander who is older than most of the ships his warriors live on. Hexa Meltrandi Fleet: A Meltrandi attack fleet that is allied to the Decatate Fleet, they are mostly known for their hit-and-run capability and are proud to have many famed aces in their ranks. Per social regulations, they remain a separate entity to the Decatate fleet, though they fight for a mutual goal. Led by Hexa, a renowned strategist who floats in a tube to preserve her body and mind to best serve the women who have sworn their life to her. ????: All information is classified. --- Statements of the Game: Welcome to the Macross 9 RP. =o The basic structure of the game will be as follows. There will be three main arcs in the RP, each composed of three battle scenarios. All battle scenarios will be divided among the VF and Destroid forces, though there will be times where both teams' objectives overlap. After each fight, there will be a period of recovery where characters can mingle and develop, and where the plot can progress. This won't be a very long RP going by those plans, but I hope it will be enjoyable. The basic unit for UN Spacy will be the VF-11 Thunderbolt and the VF-17 Nightmare will be the weapon of choice for the special force teams. Other VFs can be used, since UN Spacy also employs older models that have been retrofitted to bring their performance up to current standards. The VF-19 and VF-22 are available, but both are being evaluated in the field for mass production in the future and are rare because of this. Zentradi pilots have access to both VFs and conventional Zentradi hardware. I think a two character limit will work well, so that's what I'm going with. You can also have one antagonist character in addition to that, however, if you want two baddies, you'll have to use up one of your protag slots to do so. I'm open to changes in these limitations though, if they are too restrictive. Player Villains won't make an appearance until the Third Fight of the First Arc, so keep that in mind. I guess that's it for now. Her father was a former UNS pilot that eventually settled down after Space War One along with her mother. Growing up in a rather humble but tightknit household, Juli grew up listening to her parents' war stories, her father's tales of piloting a Destroid and her mother's of serving as a bridge operator. At the age of 5, Juli's family moved to the departing Macross 9 fleet, where Juli would spend a majority of her life. It was unsurprising to the couple that their daughter enlisted into the UNS at the age of 18 and recruited as a Queadluun-Rhea pilot, currently assigned to the Dwarves Team, an all-Meltran squad. Fairly serious, she tends to overwork herself if allowed and expects the best from her teammates, whom she cares a great deal for. Her parents joined the colony fleet in order to escape civil unrest on their previous home, and started over in City 9. Rosa proudly embraces her heritage, and feels strongly about prejudice aimed at "non-Humans" among the fleet. She is an enthusiastic pilot of one of the fleet's Zentradi-derived battle suits, and is currently assigned to the all-Meltrandi, and oddly named, Dwarves Team. Although she raised among human culture she has a tendency to become overly-fixated on the human arts, and can often be found painting in her spare time. Mecha: Queadluun-Rhea

While most her kind and their Zentradi brothers have stayed with what they knew best, she has forsaken any sort of combat role in the fleet. She has been enamored with the pursuit of science and medicine since she was a young girl and has become an established physician in City 9. Maeva's reputation is that of a skilled doctor, but her bedside manner is hardly appropriate and she tends to force her will on others to satisfy her curiousity.

Knowing that the only way that he would ever reach these goals was to become a pilot, he went to the Daewoo Institute of Technology and Aerospace and graduated at the top of his class, and then went to join the UN Spacy. Bright, friendly and curious, John focuses on flying and is very good at what he does. He does not take failure easily however. He is now a Lieutenant. Mecha: VF-17D Nightmare
