So, we all know that the 3 Kingdoms period is really popular in Japan, right? Well, this year it seems to be especially true, since we're getting not one, not two, not three, but FOUR different takes on the subject within the space of a couple of weeks, as seen here: http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/3503/1269102798271.jpg First up is the newest season of the boobtastic Ikki Tousen franchise, which comes out on March 26th. Then, just 6 days later, the third season of the equally well-endowed Koihime Musou series starts on April 1st. But wait, THERE'S MORE! Just two days later, we get the debut of the SD Gundam Sangokuken series, which uses tiny robots instead of massive mammaries to mix things up. However, we're still not done, because just ONE DAY LATER, we get.... Romance of the Three Kingdoms, as done by the Beijing Glorious Animation Company. That's right, the fourth version will be a completely traditional version of the story, done by an actual Chinese studio. So there you go. FOUR versions of the same story, three of which come out on the SAME FUCKING WEEK!!!! |

You know, people can complain about WW2 games all they want, but they've never seen Sanguo re-tellings/interpretations/anime/etc. |

Indeed. Personally, I'll probably watch at least the first episodes of all of these shows, since I do love the setting. I just find this situation utterly hilarious. XD |

I'll probably give House of Five Leaves and Hakuouki a look-see. Might give the SD Gundam RoTK show a watch, but passing on the other three. |

Well, aside from the 3K stuff, I'll be checking out Heroman, Ring ni Kakero, Ichiban Ushiro, Working!, Hakuoki, Night Raid, K-ON!, and House of 5 Leaves. Of those, I'll probably actually keep up with about half. |

Wow. I missed this topic the first go-round, but I'm shocked there's four more anime based on this subject after Souten Korou kicked ass the first time around. Of course, I shouldn't be shocked. Japan loves their ancient Chinese Warriors with mispronounced names. I'm sad that SD Gundam focuses on Liu Bei and not with an ensemble cast. Also, Souten Korou still has no more fucking subs. I'm fucking pissed. |

Well, since it's only 15 minutes per episode, I don't think an ensemble storyline would work all that well. Plus, the manga was focused on Liu Bei, and it still had plenty of room for the others from what I've seen. I caught the first episode RAW before I lost my 'net, and it seemed decent enough, if a bit predictable. However, it could prove to be a neat way to get younger viewers into the 3 Kingdoms storyline, and seeing Cao Cao as DX and Tallgeese as Lu Bu was pretty awesome. Has the Chinese Rot3K show cropped up yet? |

Well, a RAW for Rot3K has finally cropped up...though it's of episode 4. |
