Didn't we do this before? Anyway, CCA = F91/Crossbone = G Gundam > 0083 > all. I also believe Crossbone has had its fair share of "ANIMATE IT ALREADY FFS" thingy going on. |

UC: Zeta: I feel like it's the first time they really got their act together while writing for Gundam, not that I'm knocking the original series. But it had good character and they seemed more like real people in this one, the lines of good/evil, right/wrong were very blurred. AU: Wing: First Gundam series I ever saw, and I still really enjoy it to this day, I try and watch the series at least once a year, I think I've watched it upwards of 18 times since 2000. Most entertaining: G Gundam: I don't' know what about the series, but I get so much fun out of doing a running cometary while watching it. |

UC:0079. Despite the ah... special... art, I feel it overall has the most solid and well put together storyline and the best characters. It falls behind a bit in the robot department, but some of that gets fixed in the movies, and units like the Guncannon and Gundam will always be awesome. AU: This is tougher. I can't wholeheartedly say any. I think SEED has the most interesting setting, but screws up the execution badly. Wing is the most overall solid, but despite being fairly straightfowardly solid, I can't say I particularly favor its setting and characters. I don't even think the others are worth mentioning, so... I guess I'd have to say G Gundam, but it's not really a fair race. G Gundam is so different that it feels weird mentioning it. Not to mention it's basically a robot fighty version of two other anime I love, so it's easy for me to enjoy. If I had to really pick one, I'd say Stargazer. Favorite non-animated: Gundam SEED Astray X. I love the premise, I think the usage of Newtypes is more interesting then anything UC has done since original Gundam, I think the final battle is really neat, and in general, it is I think the most well put together of the Gundam manga sidestories. Astray is fun, but has some crappy moments, and everything after X isn't even worth discussing. The UC sidestories are mostly bland with a few interesting ideas here and there, but retread the same territory too much. Least Favorite UC: That's tough. Victory or ZZ. Victory is overall worse, but ZZ's first half is like stabbing myself in the eyes. Least Favorite AU: Gundam 00. A fantastic concept that had one of the worst executions I've ever seen from an anime. It did, to its credit, have some characters I liked and who were executed well, but they were usually overshadowed. After that would be Gundam X, because I don't think there is a single voice actor in Gundam X who I really liked so it makes the series impossible for me to watch. It looks like a fun series otherwise, I just can't get over much I don't want to hear Wataru Takagi again. (Thank you very MUCH, Mega Man X7) Others were not terrible, but I just didn't care about them much, or they had done better in other roles. Least Favorite Non-Animated: Crossbone Gundam or Delta Astray. Crossbone Gundam could be okay, but the artwork is atrocious, and that level of artwork is just nonredeemable to me on any level. I don't think I need to explain why Delta Astray is otherwise on the list. A complete failure on every level. Most need to be animated: I would say Astray/Astray X or Crossbone. Astray is fun and interesting enough to support a mini-series, and that would lead to Astray X being animated somewhere besides video games. Crossbone because at least the art would have to be less hideous, and that could improve my feelings for the series. |

G, manages an interesting bit of ecological and social commentary while pulling off nanite german ninjas and blowing shit up with the power of love. I would also like Crossbone or Astray animated. I also think it would be really neat if the MSG novels were animated. |

Favorite: Gundam X The series has everything I want in a Gundam show- great character/mecha designs, well defined and growing characters, non-Gundam machines that can go toe-to-toe with Gundams (Bertigo, Crouda), a static number of Gundams (only the Double X is added to the overall count, the original five are simply upgraded), a capable female pilot (Ennil El), and a hero that can actually get defeated more than once (Garrod). It doesn't hurt that it's also got a well done, totally unambiguous romance between Garrod/Tiffa, either. All of this is wrapped up in an overall tone that, despite it's setting, never gets too emo and always stays adventurous. I love it. It's truly a shame that North America was never given a chance to see it during the big Gundam boom earlier this decade. Honorable mentions: First Gundam, SD Gundam Force (season 1 only, haven't seen S2), Gundam SEED, Gundam 0080 Least favorite: This is a tough one. I guess I would have to give this title to- The 08th MS Team I never bought into the romance which the whole OVA was hinged upon. Sure, the animation and character designs were great, but they were window dressing to Shiro and Aina's story. As such, I found it pretty dull overall with only the "Shuddering Mountain" 2-parter worth my time. Ironically, after watching Gundam Wing back in 2000, it was The 08th MS Team that made me want to look into the Universal Century in the first place- I figured I could read the ongoing (at the time) English release of Kazuhisa Kondo's Gundam 0079 manga adaption to get what I needed from the “ugly” First Gundam without having to watch it. I'm not proud to say I felt that way, and I'm glad I got over it- but I'll always think of that whenever I think of 08th. Needs to be animated: Tie: Mobile Suit Gundam Sidestory: The Blue Destiny I know the UC, and especially the OYW, are hugely overcrowded, but I can't help myself- I want to see this tale animated. It makes sense that during that period, Zeon and the Federation would be scrambling to come up with a non-natural way to match Newtypes (beyond the eventual Cyber-Newtypes of Zeta) and it's always intrigued me. and For the Barrel It's pretty much the mecha/character designs and the closer adherence to Tomino's Gundam novels that pique my interest in seeing this series animated. It's just so damned different from what we're used to. |

Gundam SEED is my favorite. The setting of the world is what I like most about it, I never really minded the 'GUNDAMS EVERYWHERE' thing. 00 and Wing would be tied for second. My least favorite is Victory, it may not be fair since I didn't see all of it, but I just lost interest. My favorite manga is, of course, Ecole du Ciel and it is the one I would love to see animated the most. |

Favorite: After War gundam X a story that has plenty of action, but still revolves around well developed characters with a aesop that tells you to kick destiny in the nuts and to steal its wallet while its down. Fuck yeah! I love that show! Least: Gundam seed destiny, only because it wasted its potential to actually be a decent show. NTBA: toss up between crossbone and sentinel. Crossbone because its made of 100& pure grade awesome, and sentinel just cause it needs more love. |
