The episode "The Babysitter" features a Spartan that looks suspiciously like Sheryl Nome. |

S3 probably means the books. And he's right, considering the Spartans are military property, they should all be sporting the stereotypical military haircut. But I'll let it slide in her case ... :) |

Not everything is exact to canon. I mean, if you want to be technical the episode hinted Japan colonized this random planet before humanity and the Covenant could. |

Oh, I've played all three of the main games through various means - I just don't talk about it 24/7. In fact, I downright love the first game. I've not played Halo Wars or ODST yet, due to the fact that I do not actually have a 360 at all, not to mention the fact that I have little interest in Halo Wars as a whole. And ODST... I keep hearing it's little more than an expansion for Halo 3, so I have little interest in getting a 360 just to play it. Really, Halo 1 was the best of the series in terms of plot. Halo 2 went in interesting directions, but the blatant cliffhanger was retarded and Halo 3 nerfed the plot entirely so we could get a deeper multiplayer experience... ...that most people ignore for a simple quick "I wanna kill gaiz" matchup on one of four maps because they have "teh bestest weaponz." I have little hopes for ODST or Wars containing decent stories to their gameplay because of that. The novels, though, are pretty awesome. I just wish we got more of those novels - I'm still waiting for my Halo 2 and 3 novelizations, god damn it. |

ODST's plot was actually pretty good. Definitely not worth buying a 360 for though. XD |

Agreed. Halo: CE felt so much more immersive than the sequels. And even playing coop didn't really hinder the storytelling. Halo Wars isn't bad storywise, but yeah... if you're not into the gameplay, you can't really enjoy it as much. Actually, I still need to finish it, so my evaluations of it aren't up to par :P suffice to say though, it makes a good console RTS. ODST for some reason I drifted away from. I'm still hoping to get back to it, but yeah... it's not a system seller by any means. --- Back on topic, I keep forgetting about these >_< I'll just wait for the DVDs I guess. |

Halo PC trumps them all in multiplayer due to a robust modding community. I nearly died laughing due to the horrible physics on a mod motorcycle that constantly managed to not even motorcycle normally. I manged to rack up quite a few kills on that puppy, too. I was amazed. |

Well, I just saw the ONE mini-sode that redeems the whole "Sheryl Nome as a Spartan" and"Weaboo Elites" in my eyes. The Package. John-117, the Master Chief in Spartan Greens. Fred-104, Senior Petty Officer in heavier armor (Can't place it - looks like a blend of Scout and Recon). Kelly-087, in EVA armor. All kicking ass together. Blowing shit up. In space. With awesome space mototcycles armed with missiles and chainguns. And they're saving Catherine Hasley, the MOTHER OF THE SPARTANS. It. Is. Awesome. STILL no view of the Chief's face, of course. ---- And now, for some screenshots. Master Chief's space choppa: Posted Image Farewell, Spartan "Gundam:" Posted Image Fuck. Yes. Posted Image The Chief is so badass, Gravity bends to his whim: Posted Image Fred-104 is fucking awesome. And he has a Spartan Laser. Posted Image Stupid Sexy Kelly. Posted Image Posted Image The real way to settle a fight with the Elites: Dance off! Posted Image |

I wonder how long before Reach this takes place. I gotta say, the package is pretty hawt. Friend of mine commented that the EVA booster frames look like the Dendrobium |

Doc Hasley looks pretty young, considering how she's described in the later chapters of Reach and the other books. I'd assume we're getting close to the events of Reach, but well after the new MJOLNIR armors were given out. Maybe... 6 months to a year out? |

WTF is up with a few people who keep bitching about their hair in these? It's fucking fiction, not to mention it's the god damned future. Doubt they'd have the same standards that the US army has. Especially since it's a world wide army in Halo, not just americans, etc. Buck wasn't exactly a jar head. |

Well, in The Babysitter, it's understandable - the Spartan looks like she needs a hammerspace helmet to hold that much hair while the ODSTs all look like their hair is frozen mid-explosion. It's pretty unrealistic for almost EVERY military. With The Package, though, people are bitching to bitch. |

People are bitching about the hair? Aren't these shorts done by Japanese creators? 'Cause that would explain EVERYthing. Aside from the uber-long hair in The EDIT: Dur ... wrong ep. |

I'll note that in real life special forces units the soldiers don't have regulation hair cuts. We can infer that the Spartans are something of an elite special forces unit. Sort of. And again this is the future. Ergo they can wear their hair however they like. Besides this is anime, taking issue with an instance that doesn't make sense is lol material. |

Didn't notice this topic before... Of the set, I enjoyed Prototype/Homecoming/The Babysitter the most. They were all great little stories, and I was pleased that for the most part, they used original characters. Origins was okay but it was just a recap, and the Duel was a disappointment, considering it was the sole Covenant focused ep. Odd Man Out was amusing, but just alright. Finally, though The Package was interesting, it was a bit too much flash without substance. A part of me also wishes they hadn't used the 'Chief, but it's not like that was a deal breaker. It looked freakin' fantastic though. The world needs more Appleseed style CG-Anime. |
