Finally watched the ending cut scenes post credits. ......really? They had to make a Jar Jar Binks character in Metal Gear? |

You talking about George? He's pretty normal in the Japanese version... |

Heard that JP version has EN subtitles so I'm tempted to import it. Assuming it'd work on my NA PS3. |

How is he a Jar Jar Binks character? Sure, he's comedy relief. But I don't see how a Guyanese kid who speaks in the Guyanese way of speaking makes him a Jar Jar Binks character. |

George seemed rather normal to me, outside of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle references. |

That was hilarious. This is second game i've played in the past year that has had a sewer mission where someone makes a Ninja Turtles reference. It should just be standard now. |

It must be standard by now. Also, Zechs, you missed the biggest one from George, right after his COWABUNGAAAA: [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_K6971WmAs[/utube] See, also: Vanilla Ice reference. |

Not sure. ZH has the JP version so he can probably answer you on that. I checked the Asian release on that; it has English and Japanese subtitles (no language setting though, damn it). I'm not sure if the US versions have the reversed confirm/cancel buttons, but I'm a bit pleased that this game didn't go with the swapping for the Asia version. |

I never understood why the hell the NA versions of game swap those out. CIRCLE=YES X=NOW/WRONG It's Universal.... Also confusing as hell when you change between JP and NA region games. |

Was it swapped in the US release of MGR? I'm curious since Asia's releases tend to just use the US release as the base; if Konmai/Platinum changed their MO and actually swapped it back to O=confirm X=cancel for the Asia version, it may mean who/whatever is in charge of these changes are onto something (since it didn't happen in Peace Walker). And yeah, it's confusing as hell due to muscle memory. Edit: If I remember right, Squeenix still does that or at least were known for the earliest instances of swapping confirm/cancel buttons (correct me on this if you got more info on it). Only played on 360, but A is Okay and B is Cancel (I'm going to guess PS3 is the same in its placement) |

That's because on 360 A(lriiiiiiight!): Green=Go! B(ad!): Red=Stop! Also wut? As far as I always thought the Asia versions of games are all based on the JP versions. Edited by Ovan, Feb 25 2013, 05:06 PM.

@Ovan: As far as I know, only if there isn't a US/EU version available; the policy (or de-facto of one) likely differs by game/company as well. For example: Peace Walker uses the US version of Peace Walker with the lack of product placements and all (though this may be due to strict licensing on said placements as well). My PS3 is set to Japanese by default, so the subs were Japanese as well. I'll see if they turn English if I set it to USA tonight when I get home. |

@ZH: There's a subtitle switch in the options menu in-game. Try that first. |
