And yeah, I forgot to say it, but I agree with Lowe. Batman is the only DC hero who is normal, and can be portrayed as realistic, whereas Marvel has always gone to great lengths to make their heroes feel like more a part of the world. It's not that the DC heroes don't have lives or live in cities where they're appreciated, or anything like that... they just come off as some more(or less) than human to me. Whereas most Marvel characters feel like humans with extraordinary abilities. |

Batman? Normal? Dick, maybe. Barbara, possibly. Tim, perhaps. But Bruce? Bruce stopped being an actual human being a long, LONG time ago, at least in the comics. By his own admission, Bruce Wayne is now just a mask; Batman is the real person. |

Crazy as a fox, yes, but still pretty much human. Personality-wise, he's still pretty much a specific type of ideal, like most DC characters, but his lack of powers helps balance it when they aren't giving him ridiculous gadgets. Anyway, on-topic: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3174049 |

"When" being a BIG when. But, I get what you're saying, and thankfully he's not ALWAYS shown as some giant, brooding blob of "Vengeance & Night", so I reckon we can leave it at that and get to more important matters, like FUCK YEAH DEADPOOL GAME!!!! |

...when they aren't giving him insane gadgets, ludicrous pep time, psychotic amounts of devoted family members who regularly would be afraid of a man like that, teammates despite trying to be an 'urban legend' half of the time... ...you know, the usual Batman stuff. And yeah, FUCK YES, DEADPOOL GAME came to my mind as well. |

Hrm. One hopes that this movie will cover a decent amount of his Japan-centric backstory rather than just mash things together like in the first movie. I'm not about to complain, because the first movie was still a fun ride, but there's a fair amount of stuff that Wolverine did in Japan, from what I recall. |

I dunno too much; Logan wandered around a lot, fought ninjas, fell in love with some Japanese chick who eventually got turned into Lady Deathstrike, fell in love with some OTHER Japanese chick who died, fought more ninjas, and in a more recent story killed Sabretooth with a magic katana. |

Really, that's all I can say. I didn't read much Wolverine back in the '90s, so I'm not up on the finer points of it. |

All righty now that I've had a chance to refresh my memory Logan's adventures in Japan can actually be divided into three major parts I would say. The first part starts in 1945 when he was fighting the Japanese and was captured. He escaped from the POW Camp and had a brief romance with a woman who was so minor that I don't remember her name. After the war concluded Logan met up with Ogun, a Japanese mutant he had met in Shanghai, and under his advice traveled to the Japanese countryside in order to train for something. It was there that he met Itsu who was impregnated with my least favourite of Logan's four or so kids, Daken. On the eve of his son's birth Logan was pitted against some random ninja in a test of honour or some shit. While he was out however the Winter Soldier came along and shot Itsu in the heart and stomach. By the time Logan got back she was already dead and he swore vengeance. He then found the legendary swordsmith Muramasa (yes him), who crafted the aforementioned magic katana known as the Muramasa Blade from a part of Logan's soul. After that Logan left Japan and had some more adventures. He wouldn't return to Japan until after joining the X-Men. This time he met Mariko his greatest love. Incidentally she came from a Yakuza family and also related to Silver Samurai, Sunfire and Sunpyre. The pair hit it off and things seemed to be going well as they did consider marriage. And then a little while later Logan found out Mariko's father decided she was better off marrying anotehr Yakuza guy instead of a hairy Canadian. Wolverine went off to confront Shingen about that little issue and things went rapidly downhill until the pair agreed to a duel. Beforehand Shingen had Logan poisoned and when they fought he used his knowledge of the human body to attack Logan's nerve endings in such a way that even he would die. To counter that Wolverine popped his claws out but in doing so was disgraced in front of Mariko for making it seem that he was taking the duel to a lethal extreme. Logan then got even by destroying the Yashida crime syndicate piece by piece and killing Shingen in a rematch. Mariko then inherited control of the family and decided that marrying Logan was indeed a good idea. At this point Mastermind mind controlled Mariko and had her break ties with Wolverine, while deepening her family's involvement with the Japanese underworld. His ruse was discovered and Mariko regained her senses. Logan offered to help her sever her family's ties to the Yakuza but Mariko was honour bound to do so herself. She did entrust him finish the job should she be killed however. After that Logan left Japan again, he did however maintain ties with Mariko and placed a foster daughter under her care. A little while later Lady Deathstrike popped up and contrary to the X-Men cartoon's lore her and Logan were never involved romantically. She pretty much hated him from day one and sought vengeance for her father, who was the man who created the procedure of bonding Adamantium to bone. Anyways after that Logan's next trip major to Japan when the leader of the Hand and his former lover Silver Fox fatally poisoned Mariko with some stuff extracted form a blowfish. She asked Logan to give her a quick death and he obliged. After that he hunted down the Hand leader, I forget his name, and cut the dude's hand clean off. Logan then promised the Hand Leader that he'd come back every year and cut off a bit more. Last time we saw him he was missing, his arm, right ear and nose I believe. Right...offhand I think that's all the major points. With all taht I'm sure a movie could be distilled from the base elements. |

Ok, yeah, there's certainly enough information to do so. XD Wonder if they're gonna try to add in that sword stuff to a more modern setting (or an extended flashback), though, just to pad out the movie. <_< |

Jackman loves Wolverine's Japanese stories also, so that puts another point in their possibility of being adapted. |

Doesn't sound too bad... although I kind of hope they go with the later, Mariko story rather than the magic sword one. As for Sniktbub, what cartoon was that from? I don't remember Deadpool being in any of the cartoons. 0.o |
