Especially as far as the movie was concerned... *shudders at the memory of it* I want that hour and a half or so of my life back. ;_; |

Hey, I enjoyed the movie. Of course, there was a small problem in that it was all Al's story, told from Ed's point of view so the Nazis don't seem like they come out of fucking nowhere, but... <_< |

The movie pushed Ed x Roy more than Ed x Winry(Roy cares about Ed more than Hawkeye now!? WTF?), which was creepy and played far too much towards the yaoi fans. As for the plot itself... it felt disjointed in some ways and didn't resolve the things it needed to. Gluttony came back just because Gluttony was still alive, and what happened between him and Wrath seemed totally separate from the rest of the plot. The tension between Envy, Ed and Hohenheim could easily have been the basis for this entire story, but instead Hohenheim and Envy jobbed near the beginning and had roles that were closer to cameos than anything else. Like Winry and Ed's relationship, that plot was left totally unresolved. As for the plot we did get? Showing it from Ed's perspective did make nazi-land feel more real... certainly more real than it did in the TV series where it just made you say "WTF?" and then ended the series on an unsatisfying note. But, the lead villain and everything else just seemed so far removed from what FMA was, that I just couldn't care about them. Not to mention how nonsensical it was that the gate killed the BBEG's entire crew but gave her superpowers. From my perspective, it just felt like the movie put a bunch of villains I didn't care about against the FMA characters in a meaningless fight while giving the plot threads I wanted to see resolved the shaft. |

Did a little research on "Sid". Dude's one of those "I look like a woman and am damn proud of it!" artists. Sort of like Gackt. =/ But hey, music's good. I'll just avoid the PVs. XD |

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-rele...merican-release ...wow. Free official subs streaming within days of the Japanese release. I think Funimation is now perhaps the most awesome localization company in existence. |

Amuro posted that in the "Spring Anime" thread, I think. Or maybe somewhere else. Either way, it's pretty cool. Anyway, in my opinion, FMA's opening are Rewrite>Undo>Melissa>Ready Steady Go, although I thought all of them were good. As for endings, probably Kesenai Tsumi(Nina version)>I Will>Kesenai Tsumi>Beyond the Door>Motherland, although again, all were good. I'm a sucker for endings tailor-made for content in the preceding episode, even if it's just a few seconds of panning over still pictures. |

First episode was pretty enjoyable. I just wish it would hint already at what route this anime is gonna take; manga adaption or another all new story. A simple showing of Ling would go a long way. |

Actually, I think we're gonna be following more of the manga than the previous anime... just from the opening shot of the opening sequence alone. Young Papa Hoenheim surrounded by a different form of setting than anything we've seen in FMA so far... looking at the Elric brothers' mother, only to cut to the brothers as kids? It's subtle, but it works rather well. |

Shinsen is determined to stick it to Funimation, I suppose. XD Maybe Funi should hire Shinsen's team if they're that serious about this. 'Cause I don't think their people can beat them. |

Yeah, but considering some of the grammatical errors in Shinsen's version, it's hardly perfect. |
