"That wasn't really directed mostly at you... Well, I didn't mean to at least,"

Faris smirked and looked back at Lufia. "I meant more about what "Z" said... You haven't done anything wrong, so don't worry." she reached her hand forward and patted the young White Mage's shoulder.

The Viera looked back at Sendis, somewhere in the back of her mind wondering if the other girl was really tired of wearing all that armor, before starting forward again. Dani's voice caught her attention and she looked back.

"Let's be honest... Faris, was it? You were kind of acting more like a debutante than a mercenary, and this is a mission, even if we're not in combat yet. I'm not saying it's wrong to get in a relationship, even with a fellow mercenary you just met, but there's a time and a place for showing it off, and on a march to battle really isn't one of them, at least in my book."

The silver haired woman stiffened slightly, and a small smile spread across her features slowly. "Ah, you're right. Having private conversations, that really have nothing to do with any of you, is a terrible way to act before battle." she glanced towards Lufia quickly before turning towards Dani, voice sweet but dripping with venom. "I suppose we should just ignore the fight we participated in earlier, or how you didn't step in to talk about the irreverence of Lufia's dragon fang? Because even though they had nothing to do with our upcoming battle, I suppose they were very crucial to our quest." Faris said, her visible eye thinning.

She turned away then and adding quietly, "Right?" before walking off towards the room again.

"Hey, wait. Both of you, just calm down," Lufia said, stepping betwen them, "We will have to work together in the days to come, and bad attitudes towards each other are much worse than some off-topic talk on free time."

"Also, even though I'd like to get paid for my healing work, I'd rather not have that pay come from healing allies who have hurt each other..." she then mumbled.

As Faris and the other girls argued, Sendis simply stood there for a moment, before resuming the trek to the room. "Seems like this group is getting to be very good at fighting each other too," she said to no one in particular.

Kailan sighed, took a deep breath of the outside air and re entered the inn, moving silently to his designed room...

With a polite bow of his head to any present that was still awake he removed part of his clothes and went to bed...

"The fight before was irrelevant, and never should have happened," Dani said, continuing towards the room, "And the Dragon's Horn was not intrusive, and not un-mercenary-like. I'll admit I'm biased against public displays of affection, but even beyond that I think it's outside the bounds of good taste." She sighed. "I really don't want to argue about this, but I think it's disruptive..."

"Please don't argue..." Lufia repeated, her words probably in vain.

"If they wish to, then there's likely little you can do to change that," Sendis said patting Lufia on the shoulder.

"Good night. Kupek! Don't fret overly much about it. You'll only make yourself feel worse over an honest mistake."

"Thanks kupo," the voice from within the mekka said, and it waved back at the armored woman before disappearing from view. Despite being inside the mekka, Kupek could hear someone coming up beside him, and he turned his armor's head to look when he felt Mac soflty tap on the top.

"You gonna be ok in there, kid?"

"Yeah....I'll be okay, kupo," Kupek responded, his voice now much hardier than it was a few moments ago. "I guess I just need to sleep my worries off." Leaving his mekka in the corner of their room, the young moogle popped out and flew over to one of the unclaimed beds before ditching his coat and boots. Leaving them in a neat pile at the foot of his bed, he crawled up and under the covers, before settling in the dead center. It looked as though the bed had a large lump.

After a moment of silence, the moogle spoke up. "Mac?"

"Yeah....I'll be okay, kupo. I guess I just need to sleep my worries off."

"Good to hear," Micerhin grinned slightly as he pushed Zereal's words out of his head for now, "It's never good to allow worries to bog yourself down, especially when we've got a rather important job to do."

Mac chose a bed close to the window, leaning his rifle against the wall. Taking a long look out the window, Mac shook his head slightly as he shrugged off his coat, draping it over the rifle - using it as a coat rack. Mac then took off the deep orange vest covering his maroon shirt and tossed both at the end of his bed. Stepping out of his boots, Micerhin slid under the covers of his own bed, his body nearly sighing with relief to sleep in an actual bed for the first time in a few weeks.

"Mac?"

"Yeah?" Micerhin spoke up, sitting up a little in bed.

Glancing off towards Sendis and Lufia, the Viera waved her hand lightly and shook her head. "Look, I don't want to argue about this either, so lets just drop it." she made her way into their assigned room and stopped at one of the beds. "I'm not a mercenary here, so I didn't realize that you people had rules when it came to working together..." Faris pulled at her dagger sheath and belt, folding them up and hanging them off the end of the bed.

"I'll just make sure from now on that I don't do anything to disturb the rest of you..." she finally said in a huff, starting to pull her silver hair up.

"Yeah?"

The lump wiggled slightly as the moogle within spoke."What's the worst thing you've ever fought, kupo? I mean, you've seen a lot of stuff, right?"

Sendis just shook her head and set her weapons down near the bed. The brown haired woman then took off her gauntlets and helmet. Putting those beside the weapons, she decided to leave Faris alone for the time being, give her some time to cool off. She began to unbuckle the heavy breast plate and pondered their situation. Putting that aside she began to She looked at Dani, "Remarkable show of restraint and tact," the young woman said as she began to work on her couter and then the pauldron.

Dani sighed. "I'm sorry. Arguing really isn't appropriate either, and, well, I'm just a little worried about this whole thing. I haven't been in straigh-out combat for a while, so I may be jumping at shadows that look like they might hurt our team." She doffed her hat and cloak, hanging them on a convenient peg, and began unfastening her vest.

Lufia placed her hammer beside her bed and draped her White Mage robes over it, finally revealing what she wore underneath- A light leather armor with matching skirt. Turning away, she took those off too before climbing into the bed in her underwear.

"Good night everyone," she said, pulling the covers up, "I really hope things work out better tomorrow."

"What's the worst thing you've ever fought, kupo? I mean, you've seen a lot of stuff, right?"

Micerhin thought for a few minutes, considering the Moggle's words as he watched the lump in the bed bob up and down with the steady breathing of the little guy. After a few minutes, Mac spoke up, "...a good ten years back or so, I wound up fighting against a Seeq going by the name of Bathar'q Carr. He was the captain of a pirate's ship and was just an utter despot. And he had the strength to back it up, too."
"There was a side of the crew that wanted to mutiny, so I... ah... hired myself out to them," Mac bent the truth slightly, "...the problem was, no one bothered to realize that Bathar'q was also a berserker in combat."

A soft sigh came from Mac's lips, as he looked down at his hand - which was shaking a little, "Don't think I'd ever been so scared in my life. Guy was unstoppable and downright near killed everyone. Hell... I don't have full recall of that day even now."
Clenching that hand, Mac's face split into a slight grin, "But don't worry, kid. I can already tell that these guys we're with are far better fighters than a fair percentage of the people I was with back then."

There was a small pause, and then Micerhin added - a mischevious glint in his eye, "The second hardest opponent was a Grian. Not only did she have one mean temper, but nothing could ever take her down."
He paused, wondering in what context he'd meant those last words, then shrugged. Both felt apropriate.

Sendis just nodded to Lufia and then turned her gaze back to Dani, "Perfectly understandable, but Faris proved her worth to us in that bar fight, so I think she'll do well enough in the battles ahead. We should respect that and give her and Mac the benefit of the doubt. And while an apology is well and good, I'm not the one you should be making it to Dani."

Faris watched the other girls as they got ready for bed, shaking her head at Dani's words. "I've learned in the past that you can't change another person's feelings. But..." she looked over towards the Red Mage and smiled slightly. "I don't want fight with you guys, so I'll try to tone it down from now on."

She reached for her heeled shoes and removed them quickly. She straightened up and grabbed the top of her skirt that rested on hip. The silver haired woman untied the knot and removed her skirt completely, revealing skimpy underwear. "Anyway, lets get some rest."

A dull thud emanates out from the corner behind Kupek and Mac, where Tip, who is still very much standing, has finally shut the thick, dusty tome he's been carrying around this whole time. "Ahhhhhhhh~ I don't believe one can ever tire of the charms a good novel can bring." He hugs the book to his chest and collapses into the corner, obviously not terribly worried about comfort from the look of things. "Reading this again almost requires asking Elias how he managed to pull it all off. No one can ever tire of hearing the machinations of a true strategist, whether it be by type or by mouth."

Letting out a heavy sigh, he takes a quick look around the room, his mouth pursing into a confused frown. "Hmmm. Others have left us, yes? This will not do. What is to attract the post-pubescent young adults to this tale if it lacks the fantastic feminine forms of our better halves? Although not a must, fanservice is rather common in tales that fail to present an exceptional story, and as this one has yet to truly begin, such a crutch may prove necessary..."

Finishing up with her armour, Sendis pulled the heavy crimson doublet off of her body. Running a hand through her hair she shook the sweat out and sat down on her bed. She let out a happy sigh as her head hit the pillow, glad that this first disagreement had been sorted out. "Good night everyone," she said pulling the covers up.

Kupek listened quietly as Mac described Bathar'q Carr and his minds eye lingered on the idea of an unstoppable Seeq. He swallowed loudly. Almost as if the older thief had heard him, Mac continued:

"But don't worry, kid. I can already tell that these guys we're with are far better fighters than a fair percentage of the people I was with back then."

The lump wiggled again. "...Thanks, Mac."

"The second hardest opponent was a Grian. Not only did she have one mean temper, but nothing could ever take her down."

"A dragon lady, kupo?" Kupek was about to continue when the voice of Tip rang out, and the man spilled forth the contents of his mind. The lump jumped at the sound, and then settled as Tip continued on. When he finished, Kupek said "I didn't even know you were in here, kupo..."

The lump wiggled once more, and it was clear the moogle had sat up under the covers. "As for the girls, they've already gone to bed, so we shouldn't bother them. If I learned anything from my sisters back home kupo, it's that you don't EVER disturb girls once they go to bed."

"The apology was to all of you." Dani sat on the bed, sliding off her boots, then untied her cravat and slid it and the vest off, leaving them looped on the bedpost. She unbuttoned the top few buttons of her shirt, paused to consider, and then lay back on the bed, pulling up the topmost blanket. "'Night."

"...Thanks, Mac."

Shrugging slightly, Mac spoke, "I hope I didn't scare the crap out of you or anything, Kupek. I've fought quite a few things, but... I figured you'd prefer if I was honest."

"A dragon lady, kupo?"

"Something like that," Mac smirked softly as he found himself describing her to Kupek, "Red hair, flaming like the brightest campfire. Eyes as green as the most brilliant emeralds. Horns a lovely soft yellow... wings and tail this earthy brown that worked perfectly in contrast with her hair..."
"I've not seen her in a long time, but... some things don't fade easily."

"As for the girls, they've already gone to bed, so we shouldn't bother them. If I learned anything from my sisters back home kupo, it's that you don't EVER disturb girls once they go to bed."

Mac nodded, agreeing with Kupek "Only in a rare occaision has trying to disturb any woman from her sleep has worked in my case... The four hells combined have no wrath like a woman roused from her sleep."

Tip freezes for a moment, as if flabbergasted by something Mac has said, before slowly shaking his head and muttering to himself, "There are more than four, and no mere woman can hold a candle to the terror of the Furies, much less one of the Daemon Lords..."

Listening to Tip's ramblings, Kupek chimed in- "There could be more, there could be less...but I don't wanna see any of'em, kupo," The now much taller lump shuddered, and it was obvious the moogle within had felt a chill of darkness. "People always look down on the guy that throws rocks at a hornet's nest."

"There are more than four, and no mere woman can hold a candle to the terror of the Furies, much less one of the Daemon Lords..."

Micerhin shook his head, a grin slowly spreading on his face, Something tells me this one doesn't get out much, he thought to no one in particular.
"However many there are," Mac spoke, the grin turning to a smirk, "I would much rather face all the hells at once than face a Grian 'spellwarrior' during that 'time of the year.' The brimstone of even the deepest and hottest inferno cannot compare to their temperment."

"People always look down on the guy that throws rocks at a hornet's nest."

"Only if they catch you with the rock, kid," Mac laughed as he slid back down into his bed, "...of course, that's if you didn't slip the rock off to some other poor sap or lie your ass off about it."
