Sendis nodded at Raidou, and filed the information away for later. "It's wondrous isn't it? You're living in such a time when your country is embracing change, new ways of life, new people pouring in and bringing with them their own unique perspectives and backgrounds," she said eyes gleaming.

"Hey, anyyone want to see something neat?"

"What is it?"

Lufia opened up her robe and pulled a long piece out that looked like the broken off tip of a horn.

"It's a piece of a Dragon's Horn," she said with a grin.

"How many times is this now?"

"It's wondrous isn't it? You're living in such a time when your country is embracing change, new ways of life, new people pouring in and bringing with them their own unique perspectives and backgrounds,"

"Umm..." Now the ZIgan was at a loss for words. On one hand, that WAS a pretty nice way to describe it... "Well, I guess it sounds nice when you put it that way..."

"Hey, anyyone want to see something neat?"

"It's a piece of a Dragon's Horn,"

Raidou stepped forward to look down at the item, raising his hand to his chin. "A Dragon's Horn? Hm... Come to think of it, there was a Bard who visited Fokau a while ago and sung a tale about those creatures... However, I was under the impression they were close to extinction. How did you manage to get this?"

Dani looked over, interested. "Where did you get that?" she asked.

"Not from fighting an actual dragon, of course. It was a job that I got a while ago," Lufia explained as she stuffed the horn back into a pocket in her robes again, "I kinda mentioned it a bit earlier to you, Dani. These guys wanted to hunt some kind of elusive giant desert crab and needed someone to keep them alive. I think I have a picture of it..."

She then pulled out her notebook again and slipped to a page, showing a drawing of a crab with a monster skull on its back.

"Well, we found it and they tried fighting it with their swords," she continued, putting her notebook away, "The crab's armor was tough and they couldn't cut it. Just kept on bouncing off. Then the thing came for me and I had no choice but to attack it with my hammer. I thought it would bounce off too, but it didn't. The carapace cracked from the blunt force."

She then lifted up her hammer and made some light swinging motions.

"Then I just kept on hitting it till there were breaks where swords could stick in and deal damage. Those guys were so embarrased that a White Mage had to the majority of the damage and I ended up taking the most valuable spoil from the kill... the dragon's horn."

"It doesn't make much sense to me that a crab would have a dragon horn," Dani said, "though I've heard of monsters holding stranger things. Unless it's from the skull," she reconsidered. "Interesting story, at any rate, and I don't blame them. Most people don't think of white mages as physically strong, and most white mages aren't... Still, sometimess a good blunt weapon just does the trick."

"What? Are you telling me that it's not nice?" She asked curiously.

"Why do I get the feeling that might explain a lot of your past...?"

"A few things, certainly," Micerhin nodded sheepily, "The rest of it... probably not."

"Well, I just hope we get there before it's too dark..."

"Oh?"

"I'd like to take a nice, long, hot bath once we arrive... and still get up at a reasonable time, of course."

"...Oh...." Mac found himself grinning slightly, shaking his head, "I'm still shocked you were once supposed to be a Priestess... You fit far better where you are now.
Walking in silence, Mac listened to Raidou's story, nodding as he heard the man describe his homeland - intrigued about the tales he'd heard about the land. Especially considering he'd tried to make his way there when he was younger, despite the problems that got in his way.

"Then I just kept on hitting it till there were breaks where swords could stick in and deal damage. Those guys were so embarrased that a White Mage had to the majority of the damage and I ended up taking the most valuable spoil from the kill... the dragon's horn."

Micerhin let out a low whistle, "That's pretty impressive, little Missy. Sounds like solid proof that just about anyone can wind up being awe-inspiring in the long run, reguardless of their initial job."

"It doesn't make much sense to me that a crab would have a dragon horn, though I've heard of monsters holding stranger things."

Mac nodded, "It's utterly bizarre, but I've also found similar. Once found a golden ring being held by a feral Chocobo. Still wondering how that worked."

"Yeah, it's from the skull," Lufia said to Dani, "The crab, I think the guys called it Daimyo-something, seemed to have a squishy backside like a hermit crab. I think it carried the skull of a larger monster on its back to cover its weakness."

She then patted the side of the robe where she put the hoen.

"It was insaenly hard to break off," she continued, "I was hoping that I could find a way to make some kind of good weapon out of it someday."

"As for being strong... I don't think I'm that strong. I just kinda had the right weapon for the job at the time."

"I think it might make a nice dagger," Sendis suggested as she eyed the horn.

"I think it might make a nice dagger."

The mekka raised it's hand and tapped at it's chin.

"I wonder what kind of properties it would have if it was melted down, kupo. Maybe it would make an amazing healing potion, or create a noxious smoke bomb?"

"I think that a weapon would be better. My masters always told me that it was better to stab a bastard in the face instead of making him smell. I never really understood what they meant," Sendis said.

Kupek turned the mekka's head to look at Sendis. "Well of course your master likes weapons more, kupo. He's a warrior!"

The mekka raised it's hand, gesturing matter of factly. "But not everything can be bashed on the head or stabbed in the bread basket. That's where making stuff smell comes in, kupopo."

"Why don't you give me an example then?" She asked. "He was always saying anything could be killed if you stabbed or hit it hard enough, but I'm always open to alternative opinions on the matter."

Kupek blinked, finding himself challenged. "Well, you could...uh...well, you see, it's easier to...um..." The mekka wrung it's hands a few times.

"Well, I'm not sure myself because I'm still a new chemist. But I'm sure it'd have some advantages over a blade! I mean...only one person can use a dagger, but lotsa people could take advantage of a stink bomb, kupo!" There was a waver to his voice that belied any bit of confidence in his words.

"Hm. This is a good point. I'll take it up with my master when I see him next," Sendis conceded.

"He's not the type to come after people if he gets mad...is he, kupo?" The moogle asked timidly.

"Because, a dagger would actually be a better idea if there were no chemists around!"

"Well, even though I'm a White Mage," Lufia said, "I like the 'hit it till it's dead' approach that Sendis mentioned... Unless it's incorporeal like a ghost or a spectre."

She then pulled the horn piece out again.

"It is long enough to make a short sword out of... Or maybe the tip for a lance... there's a few possibilities."

The Knight laughed and patted the Mecca on the back, "No, no. He'd more than likely curse your name, your mother's and anyone else who had a hand in birthing you. Swear vengeance through a duel and then go back to practicing. And forget about you completely by the next week."

"Constructive eh?" Was the only comment that Kai said to Raidou... Then he sighed out and continued to walk silently...

Faris smirked at Mac's reply before turning slightly to listen to Raidou's homeland. She hadn't ever had the chance to visit them but from what she heard, and Raidou was doing a pretty good job at making it sound nice too, was that it was a good vacation spot. 'Fake warriors looks for adventure and to test their skill..' she thought, shaking her head slightly.

The silver haired woman looks on as Lufia pulled a dragon horn out and described exactly how she had won the item. The Viera found the white mage suddenly very endearing and she smiled softly as the other girl spoke with the rest of the team. She tilted her slightly, "Say... Uh, Luffie? Why don't you make it a chain weapon? Something like a mace maybe?" Faris straightened next to Micerhin but didn't move away from him. "Or do you prefer heavier weapons that can smash things?" her eyes trailed down towards the hammer.

Zereal shook his head at the "dragon's" horn. "If you're gonna turn something like that into a weapon, it's gotta be something that makes the best use of its natural properties. Hacking it up to make a sword is no good. Horns are made for piercing, so a giant pick would be best, or maybe a lance if you could find a way to straighten it out."

"I wouldn't mind using something different..." Lufia said, looking over the piece, "Z's right though... It might be better used for some kind of piercing weapon. It would probably take too much effort to carve a blade edge out of it since it's harder than the iron in my hammer."

She then pointed out a few dents on the pointy end of the hammer which she hadn't gotten fixed yet.

As the sun began sinking behind the horizon, the settlement of Loura came into view. It took only a few minutes' walk to bring them to the inn, which was smaller and shabbier than the one in Agol. The group headed in, and Laon nodded to the owner. "We're here from the military detachment."

The owner, a burly man with dark hair and square features, nodded. "I got your messenger. We have three rooms set aside for you. It ought to be enough, even with a large group like this."

"Thanks," Laon said with a wave before turning back to the group. "Alright, the women get one room and the guys split up between the other two. But I don't want any fooling around, you got that?" he shot glances at the group as a whole, but it was pretty obvious that his gaze focused on two members in particular.

The mekka looked to it's side at Raidou, then back to Laon, clearly misinerprerting the elephant in the room. "What would we even do, kupo? I'm too old for pranks, and Rai-kupo is a straight shooter."
