Well, I have 2 tickets to the theater. I can see two movies. I fully intend to use one on The Hulk to support the integrated Marvel Universe in film, but the other is up for grabs. Should I see: -Kung Fu Panda(not likely) -Don't Mess With the Zohan or wait for and see: -Get Smart -WALL-E(again, not likely. I'm saving these kinds of movies for either when I have a new girlfriend, or if things work out with my sort-of current one) -Wanted(which I'm less interested in after hearing how different it is from the comic) -Hancock -Hellboy II -The Dark Knight -Mamma Mia I'm leaning towards Hancock, Hellboy II or The Dark Knight, as me likey the comic/comic inspired movies. Two are built of established, high quality movie franchises, and the other has Will Smith, who is always entertaining at the very least. And yes, I put Mamma Mia up there. So sue me. >_> |

I'd say forget about Hulk and see Don't Mess With The Dark Knight. If you really have to spend a ticket to see Hulk though, see The Dark Knight. |

If I HAD to choose one, The Dark Knight. Definitely. Won't get a chance to watch it, or see Heath Ledger, later in theater. Other movies I would not mind much watching on DVD later. EDIT: I would also replace Hulk with something else. I didn't watch it yet so I don't know if its good or not. The build up so far didn't inspire confidence. |

Dont Mess With the Zohan gains nothing from being seen in a theater. It's a comedy; it'll be just as funny if I rent it later. Now don't get me wrong, it looks like a really, really good comedy... but I have to be picky here. I can just rent it later. The Hulk, The Dark Knight, Hellboy, Hancock and Wanted... these are the 5 movies that gain the most from being seen in theaters, as opposed to being rented. They're my options. Chances are, I'd pick The Hulk and Hellboy, because for some reason, I'm not all that excited about The Dark Knight any longer. Wanted is disposable, and Hancock is just a Will Smith movie... so yeah. The Hulk and Hellboy. Probably. |

I thought Hulk was fantastic. I would say it was of similar quality to Iron Man. If you asked me which one I liked better I frankly could not tell you. I keep tossing around the idea of seeing Kung Fu Panda but there is no way to see it without a bazillion kids. I still have nightmares of when I saw Tarzan during my hippie period and a little bastard tried to swing from my hair. I'm totally going for Get Smart this weekend. I'm excited to see Wanted even though it'll rape the source material. Newest news I heard about that was Angelina Jolie intentionally cut out a lot of her character's lines. Hancock will probably be entertaining. I haven't seen the last two Will Smith movies, so maybe I can allow myself to check it out. Hellboy II makes me wet. I'll definitely see Dark Knight. I can't say I'm excited for it. I think I just feel strange about it with what happened with Heath Ledger. I didn't even know a Mamma Mia movie was coming out. I know have to inform the wife who will spazz out with glee and tell me we have to see it. >> |

Well 'totoro, if you wanna see Kung Fu Panda without the kids, just go to a later showing. There were more adults than kids in the theater the evening I went, and the kids that were there were actually well-behaved. And the movie is TOTALLY worth it to see on the big screen. One review I read for WALL-E was talking about how it was not just a great animated movie, but a great science fiction movie as well. I'm honestly not sure if it can live up to the hype it's getting, but if WALL-E is half as good as they say, then I'll be in line for the opening show for certain. I'm actually far more excited to see Hellboy than Dark Knight, to be honest. It's not that I think DK will be bad or anything; I'm just that eager to see a continuation of the previous one. Wanted will be nothing like the source material, but I honestly feel that will be a good thing, since I think this take would make a far better movie. And in a year that has been full of blockbusters, Wanted's action sequences have managed to stand out amazingly well. Get Smart is another must-see for me, though of all my friends I'm the only one really excited to see it. Guess they don't have the memories of it I do. |

Wait, GT, you skipped I Am Legend? That was one of the best movies I've seen come out in the last couple years. It's got a definite horror bent to it most trailers don't show, but it was done very well. I've confirmed that I'm seeing Huk -> Hellboy II. The Dark Knight can wait, and who knows, maybe I'll have more money by then. |

Someone spoiled that for you? That sucks, man. It was a really moving scene, if it helps though. There weren't really any 'lulz this person died for shock value' scenes in the entire movie... primarily because there are so few characters that they can't afford to do so, but the point remains! Anyway, you really should try checking it out some time. Will Smith generally gets hired to play Will Smith... but he was actually acting in I Am Legend, and he did a very, very good job. |

Well, I asked if anything happened to the dog. I wanted to see Tsotsi, but I hear a dog gets its back broken and while I liked hearing about how they trained this dog to act like it was moving with a broken back (had to get a dog with no tail, because the tailed dogs would keep wagging their tail)... I don't want to see the scene its portraying. >< |

Well, yeah, it's sad. Now I don't want to see Tsotsi either now. XD Still, it is a great movie. You don't have to see it if that part bothers you that much, but it just needs to be said. Snakes on a Plane SPOILARS: The dog in this movie was the only one I've ever been happy to see die. XD |

'twas a moving scene... both before the actual death, and the moment thereof T_T And yes, I have to agree with ZS, I Am Legend was a good film. Must see. I'm not even a Will Smith fan, but he definitely acted finely in that. As for movie choices, you may as well go along with what you have planned. I haven't seen Hellboy yet, and I'm not big on Mignola. The Dark Knight is my personal choice, but Get Smart is definitely on my list too. |

Saw Hulk. Spoilers. Thought it was okay, but it fell short of Iron Man by failing to provide characterization. Closest thing we had was one scene where Bruce and Betty talked for about 10 seconds about what he experiences when he changes. I needed more of that. A lot more of that. The entire movie was built solely to move the plot forward, and it wasn't enough. I don't really know who Bruce Banner is from it, and it leads the audience to believe that the Hulk is just Bruce on acid. I'd have much preferred the Hulk to actually get characterized a little better, but I guess they're still not ready to have him talk much. Hopefully it comes up in the Avengers movie. Also, Betty consistently pissed me off throughout the movie. She totally fucks over the dude she was dating without even the slightest bit of emotion(I can understand leaving him for Bruce, but she didn't even say goodbye to him... or even think of his at all, really, after she saw Bruce again.), she chases after Bruce and keeps trying to give the Hulk a hug despite the danger, etc. The only standout scenes were the two fights(serum'd Blonski versus Hulk, and Abomination vs. Hulk), and the last two scenes(Bruce trying to control or direct the Hulk, and Tony Stark's scene). Which is a shame, because I should have enjoyed the character's relationships just as much, but didn't. Should've waited for Hellboy II and Dark Knight, but those tickets were burning a hole in my pocket. |

They're all on my list. :P I think this is the last year we'll be seeing this many superhero/comic movies at once. Of course, Iron Man proved that done right they can still bring in the money. Movie goers have either accepted it and it'll always be there but in less numbers or they're getting bored with the whole genre. Almost 10 years since it started. The thing is, I don't what the next fad is. From the looks of it, neither does Hollywood. Which I guess they'll keep checking comics for good stories to tell. I Am Legend was good. I don't know anyone who thought it was outstanding.
I don't think it would make a better movie. I do think that if they stuck with the source material no one would get it so what they're doing makes sense. And what we've seen of it so far is good enough I don't care if it's different from the source material.
Pictures, NOW!!!
Hellboy was an OK movie. Hellboy II looks a lot better. I love Mignola's art style. In a way, it's the reason I liked Soul Taker. |

Kung Fu Panda was awesome. As a Kung Fu movie it's better than Forgotten Kingdom. Although I have to admit I've had enough of Jack Black now. And I think Will Ferrel will follow. |

I also saw Get Smart today. I rather enjoyed the movie, granted, I've never seen the TV series. The one part that nagged me was that they never really explained why Agent 23 turned traitor on Control. It just sort of came out of the blue and just happened. I wish they'd taken a few minutes to go into detail on that subject. Other than that, it was a good movie. |
