Quoted for hilarity. I wonder if he makes family films just to distract people from the inevitable doom that he can't wait to begin watching? XD

I saw Marley and Me.

Yes, my wife dragged me to it.

Dog movies make me wibble. I normally avoid them.

I think it's a bad decision career wise. Jack Black hasn't been funny for a while. And I feel the same is happening to Will Ferrell.

With the 360 still away, I did some catching up.

Death Race. It's nice. I liked it. The next best thing to a Twisted Metal live action movie.

Tropic Thunder. Heard so much about this. Funny, but it didn't live up to expectations.

Pineapple Express. Funny stuff.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Plays out like any other Kevin Smith movie. Which isn't a bad thing.

I don't think I can take anymore Seth Rogen though. Who I read was going to be in The Green Hornet now that Chow might leave.

Ouch

Yes, I do. I'm well aware that it'll be bad, but since I'm not overly familiar with the original, and the thought of seeing Sam Jackson making awful jokes while beating someone up with a toilet amuses me, I'm willing to see it once for the hell of it.

Just 'cuz a movie is BAD, doesn't mean it can't be fun.

I'll say that it was well worth it for the eye candy and visuals. Scarlet Johansson in a nazi uniform is strangely attractive. <<

I'm shocked that the comic fans actually seem to think War Zone was good. I might hafta take a look at it.

Pondering Gaiman's Law of Superhero Films

Seems simple enough, and yet....

Then again, in many ways I thought Ang Lee's Hulk was truer to the comics than Incredible was, and it lost attention pretty quickly, so I guess there's always at least ONE exception.

EDIT: Actually, my big issue with Incredible was that it was more a big-budget version of the TV show as opposed to a comic adaptation, and most of the viewing audience knows the Hulk in his TV incarnation as opposed to his comic one, so I guess the law applies to it because of that. People saw Hulk as unfaithful because they were comparing it to the TV show, and Incredible as faithful for the same reason.

What? You can't be tired, you can sleep in the grave.

My personal gripe about Hulk has two parts: one is that the cinematic style (framing shots to look like comic book panels) got a little stale and entered at weird moments (like when Banner transforms inside the Army Base), the other is that Ang Lee is not cut out for Mokap. Granted, I recently watched some of the Iron Man special features and found out that Jon Favreau did some of the Mokap for the film (mostly for the Mark I, like when Tony exits his "cell"--yep, that's Favreau doing that first punch), but not ALL of it like Ang Lee did. Personally, if you are the director and you get the "I want to do a Mokap sequence for myself" itch, limit it to one sequence (like Favreau did for the Mark I breakout), and not do all of it yourself.

I was indifferent to the mocap, but I can certainly agree with you on the comic panels. Neat idea, but they went a little too far with them.
