Kevin Conroy confirmed as the voice of Batman. Yay. I was worried they were still going with a different VA for each appearance. >.>

I don't know which BD to get. Since I don't know which PS3/BD player I'm going to get. Region A looks like the safest bet.

I just got the copy floating on the net. I'll probably buy the box once it arrives in HMV HK or something.

The first story was MEH.

Crossfire... holy SHIT. The fire scene! So freaking badass XD "I'll do it! I swear I'll do it!" "No. You won't." Only thing missing is a punch to the face >.>

And... Field Test? FUCK WIN!! Beetrain did some good stuff. It's like watching Q explaining his newest gadgets to Bond, except Batsey is richer, more anti-social, and ends up getting most of his girls killed, retconned or "we just made a new movie". And so much dickery. The end of thegolf scene should be slapped onto Superdickery. XD Hell it really is like watching a Bond flick, but with a really badass suit XD Oh and twin afterburners, just like how I like my F-14. Or FD Twin Turbo... >.>

In Darkness Dwells is... a BIT hard on the CG, but the super melo-dramatic animation makes up for it. I didn't think it was Madhouse at first, but the credits convinced (disappointed) me. Not much to say 'cept for some fighting.

Working Through Pain has Studio 4c again, has some interesting gadgets, but.... O_o What's with the zen? >_> And lol English names in teh East. It's about on the same level as MacGuyver's "Everyone Speaks English Perfectly. EVERYONE." And for some reason, Bruce Wayne became Bruce Lee XD And how the HELL did he make blood splatter so far with a punch? O_o But one thing I really want to say in favor of this one? CLASSIC FIRST MOVIE BATMOBILE FOR THE MOTHER FUCKING WIN!!

Deadshot. Madhouse at its finest. Felt like a Noir to me at first >_>; And then it became... Golgo 13 VS Batman. XD But the best part is... Batman punching a bullet XD Holy body armor, Batman! And the punch! THE PUNCH! He knocked the guy so hard the TRAIN DENTED! WTF? XD @ Alfred "Try ducking."

I liked the movie, but mmm... the track is missing a little something. A little... classic Batman theme =/

Oh, did I mention I built a Vic Viper while watching the movie? >_>

Watched it on BD. The characters look low rez compared to the backgrounds. Which look really impressive on BD. It comes with some extras, is region free and has the Japanese language track. The 5.1 surround was non-existent. I didn't check the JP cast list. My friend told me it wasn't Sho Hayami or Akio Ohtsuka so it didn't matter anymore. Of course I watched in English. The acting was off in some scenes so it wasn't perfect. The PAL BD comes with a booklet. The NTSC comes with a warning that the disc will not work on DVD players.

Have I Got A Story For You (Studio 4°C) was nice. Reminds me of that Batman TAS episode "Legends of the Dark Knight" which itself was inspired by an old Batman issue. Friends didn't like Studio 4°C style. I was familiar with them and knew what to expect.

Crossfire (Production I.G.). Badass.

Field Test (Bee Train). Not a big fan of Bee Train. They get the job done. Could of done without bishie Batman. Would of preferred another Production I.G. episode. Still, the episode itself is nice.

In Darkness Dwells (Madhouse). This and the other Madhouse episode are my favourites.

Working Through Pain (Studio 4°C). Least favourite. OK.

Deadshot (Madhouse). Kick ass but too short. Which disappointed me somewhat.

And then it became... Golgo 13 VS Batman. XD

"Is he going to pull off a Golgo 13?"
"He just did! Fuckwin!"
My friend being a big Dezaki and Golgo 13 fan loved it.

In general Gotham Knight was great. With so many big names attached to it it's hard not to expect the best thing EVAR. Explains the general disappointment of many of my friends. Missing the point. IMO, It does what it's intended to do and it does it exceedingly well. That's why it's considered win in my book.

I kept thinking that the whole time. Where's the Batman theme?! ><

I intend to watch it again once I have access to another PS3.

I have no knowledge of Golgo 13, so what does pulling a Golgo 13 mean?

Using an auto to "snipe" people in style, usually from impossible places.

What? You can't be tired, you can sleep in the grave.

Finally got around to seeing it. Overall, hearing Kevin Conroy as Batman brought back memories of the TV series. A good casting choice, IMO. Spoilers to follow.

"Have I Got A Story For You": Not bad. A little...."different", but a good story all around. Kinda felt like the story was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon, with the three kids telling a different part of the same story and putting their own spin on how they saw Batman. Speaking of those versions, Mecha-Bats was a nice treat, too.

"Crossfire": AWE. SOME. This was a great story, and solid artwork around. And there's the end sequence. It was simply pure Batman intimidation, and was the best part of the episode. Crispus Allen getting introduced into the Nolan universe was also a nice treat. I really liked the design of Batman's costume here as well.

"Field Test": A solid story here as well. Like RGG mentioned, definitely had a James Bond-esque feel to it. The bishounen Bruce Wayne was okay, and the Batsuit was pretty cool here as well. Glad to see that Lucius got some screentime as well.

"In Darkness Dwells": Again, decent. The artwork here was a little better than the first one, but still not something I liked. Killer Croc was a bit of a surprise here; I only wish he didn't get the Bane treatment. Scarecrow looked more like his comic book incarnations here, and creepier to boot. Odd story, but decent.

"Working Through Pain": The artwork here was solid, but the story was a little strange. The whole zen background was kinda meh, but sort of worked for the episode. The reference to the first episode of Batman Beyond here was a nice touch, with Cassandra's warning that Bruce will eventually be forced to use a gun to stop a villain. And then there was the Batmobile. A nice piece of eye candy, if I do say so myself.

"Deadshot": Simply amazing. A little short, but definitely worth it. I did notice how Alfred's involvement here mirrored Lucius' involvement with the capture of the Joker in Dark Knight. Deadshot himself was very slick and a good villain. I really want to see him brought to real life. Bats here was impressive, with him punching bullets and all. The Batsuit here looked very nice as well.

In summary, Gotham Knight is a brilliant piece of animation, and well worth the price. If you like Batman, definitely get it. If you're not, at least see it because it is enjoyable and a fun movie.

Bought the SE of Gotham Knight the other day (along with the basic version Batman Begins) at Target thanks to a sale. I really liked it overall, and hearing Conroy again was so awesome.

Field Test was my hands down favorite of the bunch for one big reason: it actually felt like it was a part of the movie continuity. An all black costume with visible eyes for the mask, a youthful looking Bruce, James Bond-esque wise cracking with Lucius over a new gadget...it was all there. Doesn't hurt that I LOVED that batsuit design, too.

Deadshot and Working through the Pain deserve special mention as well. I plan on watching through the whole thing again with the Japanese voices sometime soon. :D

I bought it as soon as I saw it. I liked how each story was actually connected one after another, unlike Animatrix. In any case...

Best Batman: Deadshot
Maybe its the details with the eyes, but I absolutely loved Batman's design in Deadshot. Then again, if you throw in devices, then I'd put in Field Test's Batman design, if only for devices.

Best Bruce Wayne: Field Test/Working Through Pain
Field Test's Bruce Wayne had a bishie Bruce, but I certainly enjoy his James Bond-esque character. In Working Through Pain, I like Bruce's display of abilities.

Of course, Crossfire had both awesome animation AND kickass action scenes. Also,I enjoyed Batman's blade gauntlets. Hope he uses them in the future.
