I don't know if it's the angle or what, but the proportions seem a bit off to me...

It might be the Jacket Armor.

Amiami.com has some pics of a painted one, and quite frankly it looks strange to me. I actually prefer how it looked SD...

I think it looks fine, although the two shades of blue does give a sort of funky effect.

I guess I was expecting it to be sleeker like the MP R-Blade and R-Eins...

R-Blade Custom is built out of one of those R-Blades, yo~

I blame it on the Jacket Armor, especially the legs.

For some reason, the unpainted one looks fine to me, but once it's been painted and panel lined, the excessive bulkiness of some areas due to the added armor really shows.

Yeah, looking at the lineart, it's obvious that the model's Jacket Armor is larger than the lineart version.

Posted Image

Of course, this may be because the lineart version doesn't look quite as well-armored as one would expect it to be.

Yeah... Looking at the lineart for R-Blade and R-Blade Custom, the jacket armor doesn't really look like it's adding too much.

Fresh on the heels of the Arblade Custom (which comes out this month), we've got it's predecessor getting a 1/144 release!!! I like the look of this a lot more than the custom one...

I can't wait to see more pics of the completed kit.

*EDIT* Actually it seems that the Arblade Custom kit coming out this month has the parts to make a regular Arblade. You can see better pics of the regular Arblade on the Kotobukiya website.

I'm definitely getting this kit just for the regular Arblade.

Seconded. I'm not too hot on the Arblade Custom, but I love the R-Blade. Can't help but wonder if there's a way to kitbash on the split beam cannons and try to pass it off as the R-Schneide...

R-Schneide probably looks more like Arblade with R-Eins backpack than Arblade Custom backpack.
