Well, Amuro's recent topic has prompted me to reveal something that I hadn't planned on talking about for at least a bit longer, but the more I think about it, the better it is to go ahead and get this out there now. At the end of the @A RP, there were the natural rumblings of doing a continuation, despite the various unpleasentries that occured. Amuro, understandably, wasn't interested, and essentially said that if we wanted a sequel, it'd fall to someone else. Fair enough. In the meantime, the Short Program topic happened, and things seemed to settle down...until now. See, what you DON'T know is that for the last 4 months, a germ of an idea has been brewing in my brain, slowly taking shape. It started out as a fanfic idea, but it became pretty clear to me that there was only one way to tell this story properly: an RP. Fast forward to a few weeks ago: Iddy and I are BSing as we always do, and the topic turns to something that has been cropping up more and more lately: a sequel to @A. Two hours later, after a serious brainstorming episode, we have the initial barebones idea for a plot down, and are busily working on fleshing it out. Cut to now, and...well, here we are. Please understand that this is NOT a sign-up topic. If enough interest is shown, then Iddy and I will make a seperate topic for that in a few weeks. What this is here for is simply to gauge interest, and answer any immediate questions potential players might have. So, with all that said, the forum is yours. |

I'd consider it, certainly... ...but there are a lot of RPs already running, and I don't even post regularly enough in the two I'm a part of. EDIT: Also wouldn't mind reprising Steve, and maybe even presenting the next generation of Evangelion pilots... or something. |

I suppose a batch of questions is in order: 1.) Are we allowed to return with preexisting characters, such as Mikael, Myong-Sun, etc, but change mecha universes for them? Say... could Marigbo or someone like that go from Gundam Seed to say... GoLion (Just for example, if GoLion were part of Alpha)? 2.) On the note of GoLion (again just for example) are new series going to see introduction, and do we have any clues or involvement in what gets added? 3.) Lowe, Aniki, how you doing? I'm fine, weather's been beautiful. Work's been okay. 4.) On the note of series being added, will any series be dropped? If we have no Seed players will things like the EA and ZAFT sort of dissolve away so we can maintain cohesiveness? 5.) Mikael owning his own chain of high quality, family-friendly, inexpensive bakery/restaurants? Yay or nay? 6.) I aint got a six. |

I think it'd be harder for Myong to return with a seperate series (Besides, Sanzo wants to do Voices, if I recall correctly), but I get the feeling that people who didn't show up much... ...like EVA pilot Spike, OG Mikael and Homeless' characters could be retconned easily enough. I also don't think it'd be too hard to figure out that EA and ZAFT would probably wipe each other out, but still... :lol: |

1. Yes, both old and new characters are allowed. As to jumping series, it WILL be allowed, but not at first. I'd say more, but that would give away plot. Let's just say that yes, it can happen. 2. Yes, there will be many new series, though most will be introed gradually. Again, can't say more yet. 3. Well, I've got 5 tests, 3 papers, and a metric fuckton of reading to do for finals in the next week, and my fiancee's job is a bitch...but other than that, I'm good. 4. See my above answers. ^^; 5. He'd better, I'm hungry.... 6. What about 7? |

Are there going to be any restrictions on who can return? It seems to me that some of the Alphas ended the RP with rather impressive power levels that would be a bit hard to legislate and might unbalance things. |

Well, any character applications will be reviewed before approval, of course, and Iddy and I have a pretty good idea of what will and won't be overpowering. That said, the nature of the plot will have a big role in that , but again I simply can't say more yet. |

BTW, before anyone gets any wrong ideas, I do NOT hate @A. It's just that a massive constellation of crap helped to wreck my enjoyment. There were a lot of compatibility issues that made things come off worse than they should have, and I let the stress get to me a few times. Still, I'm not opposed to a sequel...I just think that the players are going to have to be...well, less selfish than they were with @A if they want this one to go more smoothly. |

Well, as to that, I'm hopeful that this one will go smoother if for no other reason than the fact that everyone KNOWS better now, if nothing else. Plus, I'm gonna be QUITE clear on the rules of what is and is not permissible before hand, so ignorance will be less of a factor. Also, one final factor. While I wil be employing the talents of several people to do this RP (no WAY am I doing this solo), this is MY idea, and I will reserve my judgement as final rule in ALL cases. |

Honestly, I mostly think this is a bad idea. I'm not necessarily saying I won't join if you do it - I'm not sure I could bring myself not to - but I still don't think it's a good idea. |

If you really have issues with your characters and your experience from A@, there's something called a new series. You don't necessarily have to choose your old character or series. I know for one that I might just take Toby, just to not make him suck. Or now that I think about it, I'm debating a new character, maybe a pilot or ship captain. Oh well. When the time comes to decide, it comes. |
