"Thanks for your help, Gale," said Mao as the EMT arrived. "I'd love to ask you some questions... but I'm guessing the obscuring helmet and suit isn't just for show. And I doubt Gale is your real name..."

"More or less," Gale replied, with a nod. "Not to be rude, but it's probably better the fewer people who know my identity." She nodded after Motorola, meaningfully.

"What do you think would look nice?"

"Hmmm...." Jahnavi rubbed underneath her chin, looking at Hiro and his selection of clothes carefully, trying to determine what would be "him".

Then her eyes soon caught sight of the man she had ran into a little while ago. Vincent? Was that his name? Oh well. She just gave him a quick look before turning her attention back to Hiro.

"Well, it all depends on the occasion." she said, pulling out a black pin-stripe suit. "I would say you're more of a blue type of guy." Then pulling out a silk tie, she matched it up with the outfit and nodded, "And this I like."

"He's turned out pretty well..." a shadowy figure said to the other taller one.
"He's mental capabilities don't seem to be up to par....But to take on two in one fight, and not get killed, is something else."
"It needs more testing....Perhaps we set out the 2nd?"
"The 2nd is still in testing also. Not only that, it's a a different design."
"We can see which one is better, however...."
"Puuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrhaps.."

They turned around and walked away from the tall building over the street scene, where Alpha was last seen..

Mikael felt a small amount of pride in his heart as he view the small lot adjacent to the apartment building he lived in. The past few weeks had led to some interesting developments in his life. He had made his small room more comfortable and "homey" by adding a few sentimental knick-knacks he found in various shops during his many excursions throughout town, and the recent sale of the next door lot and the building on it had been the main focus of his life most recently. Kaijin were one thing, but to live only for destruction was to be destroyed oneself, and so he had decided to do something in his free time to occupy himself and provide a constructive activity. Always having been an afficianado of Southern USA barbecue, as well as a dedicated motorcycle enthusiast, it was only natural (at least in Mikael's slightly skewed mind) to combine these interests into one endeavour. To this end he had purchased the lot using money from his extensive financial resources (the source of these resources still not fully known to Mikael) and with a little amateur welding and remodeling he had begun to convert the building into a combination restaurant and repair garage for motorcycles. Although Mikael doubted any sort of regular business, it was still his hope there would be enough local interest to provide him with a regular amount of activity to busy himself with.

The restaurant itself was a simple affair at the front with a small area for motorcycle parking. The narrow streets in this section of the town weren't facilitative to large automobiles in any case, so he didn't attempt to furnish parking for cars. There were three outdoor tables with a parasol providing shade for each, and inside the building the front of the building in front of the short counter where the register sat were six tables. Behind the register was the kitchen, and out the door on the side of the kitchen was the smokehouse, a small screened in section where the pair of large cast iron barrel smokers sat, the two units he had constructed himself with a little amateur welding and a lot of recollection from back home. Behind the kitchen, sealed off by concrete wall, was the garage section, a well stocked and clean (obviously since it had yet to be used) dream for any mechanic who aspired to have their own, small, business one day. The garage opened to the side of the building as well with large metal shutters that were closed and locked daily. The entire building couldn't have occupied any more than 2500-3000 square feet, total. While this may not have seemed like much in the States, in Tokyo this was a lot of room.

And so it was that Mikael was just turning the sign on the front of the glass door from "Closed" to "Open" when a news report on the radio caught his ear.

The subway train was barreling down the tracks at its usual top speed when it suddenly lurched to a halt and jumped the tracks, seemingly in mimicry of the incident that had occurred only a few days prior. The passengers, though badly shaken, were largely unhurt as they began to pick themselves up again when the train began to groan softly before ever so slightly shifting.

Many glances of confusion and encroaching terror were exchanged before a second shift was felt, as if something massive was making contact with the car outside. A tense few minutes passed and there was a collective sigh of relief in the car when it was suddenly yanked ten yards before skidding to a halt once again. The respite lasted only a second as the car was abruptly dragged again, this time the hellish ride lasted far longer than the terrified echoes of everyone on the subway car as they cried out in pain and terror in vain as they were dragged off into the nightmare black of the labyrinthine tunnel network.

The police arrived swiftly and cordoned off the area, search parties were sent down the tracks and tunnels for a kilometer in every way possible before they were called back. Terror was gripping Tokyo as one of the major lifelines of commerce was slashed and the dripping fear drenched the population. Public hysteria was close to a reality, and police in every department and every division were feeling the pressure. Social tensions were high, and police were called out to break up minor scuffles that eventually spiralled downward into street violence that was only quelled when riot police appeared.

Amidst this storm of chaos was Kats, the calm eye of the storm as he began to collect clues and piece together what sort of puzzle they were facing.

Shuji cleaned up the lunch cart again, glad to be out of Headquarters after he had failed to find whatever the hell caused the accident a few days. He had gotten a hell of a chewing out for it, deservedly so, but they weren't unreasonable about it. Having spent the better part of the last few days trying to figure out what the hell happened, Houji informed him that the board had called off the search for now.

That suited him just fine, as by all rights, he wasn't a detective by any stretch. Taking the server's hat off his head, he ran a hand through his hair and breathed out a sigh. With Reika busy with new Rider, Shuji was now learning how to command small squads of henchmen on top of his other duties.

But at least it wasn't the cleaning shop. He had heard about that from several other dayside workers, all of whom were envious of him getting assigned to the lunch cart when he wasn't training. But that only carried him so far, as he was still bored when there was a lull.

Looking around, he spotted a familiar face sitting not too far away. Smiling, he waved over to one of his new friends.

"Hey Gosuke, what are you doing out here?" he said, glad for the company, however brief it may be.

"Nothing, I was given the day off, so I thought I'd bother you for a while." Saejima Gosuke said, returning the wave as he stopped in front of the cart. "I'm kind of hungry though, what do you recommend Shuji?"

"Ah, it's only a bit chilly today, so maybe something with curry dish, or some soup." Shuji said, indicating each item on the cart.

"Hmm... they all look so good too."

"Don't take too long, I don't want to start worrying about a line because you can't make up your mind."

"Okay, okay. Give me a curry special, as the menu calls it."

"Coming right up."

"Hey Nimbus, I'll be on the way soon. Where's this arcade?"

"It's in town. Just call me when you're closeby. Knight is also here. Not in the toilet. In the arcade."

Sitting bolt upright in his chair, Knight cursed. If the reports coming from the radio were correct, this time, an entire train got dragged off. He threw off his earphones and disconnected from the tuner. Damn these monsters! What kind of brute strength does it have?! Slamming the Raiden machine, he sought out Nimbus. Toilet. Right. Kicking the door open on Nimbus, Knight grabbed the talking/surprised man and lowered his tone.

"Kaijin just appeared. An entire train just got derailed and dragged right off. Come on, we need to get moving. Get Ryuhou here too. Is that him?"

"Yep. It's him. And a Kaijin? Damn! We gotta go quick!"

Nimbus quickly zipped his pants and gave his phone to Knight.

Grabbing Nimbus' phone, Knight spoke crisply, "Ryuhou. Emergency. One of the metro lines just got cut by a derailing. The train got dragged off by what I presume to be kaijin, no numbers, but if it was just a single one, then it's pure strength could break any amount of limbs. Get in contact with us as soon as you arrive in the city centre."

Turning to his other companion, he handed back the phone. "I expect the crime scene is loaded with police by now. I can't afford to get molested by some know-it-all dickwad. You're going in instead of me, come on."

"Maybe Rao did, and because I'm his twin, I look exactly like him. And why are we standing in the damn toilet?" Knight led the way out, and stepped into the brisk sun. It was hot for once.

"Good point! I'll go now. VICTORY TORNADOOOOOOO!"

With that scream, the Victory Tornado starts up by itself. The voice control for the motorcycle is located in his belt. Which is actually a part of his body. After about 2 minutes, the Victory Tornado is already on the side of the road. Nimbus rode the bike and he turned towards Knight.

"SEE YA!"

"Keep in text contact. I'll meet Ryuhou at the city centre. Report once you find anything." Knight summoned his own bike, and sped off to find Ryuhou. Ugh...

Lying in the bed of a love hotel suite, Motoko sighted as she rested her chin on the fluffy pillow beneath her. According to the Tokyo Police Department's record, because of the traumatic experience she had faced when squaring off with that Kaijin in addition for her act of heroism in assisting downed police officers, Motoko had been granted a pay bonus and a week's paid vacation.

Off the record, she'd been spending the past few days patrolling the city as a JAMPIP operative, in search of that Kajin who got away. However, being unable to home in on it at all did nothing but frustrate her. Frustration that lead her to another night with Hayate.

"You okay, Motorola? You were kind of rough earlier."

She looked over at her current distraction and shook her head. "Nothing, I've just got a lot on my mind, that's all."

Hayate nodded. "You sure?"

"Yeah...I'm sorry if I--"

"No, it was great...actually I was wondering if we could go again. If you're not tired that is."

Propping herself up, Motoko stared at Hayate for a moment, before slumping her shoulders and sighing. "Sure...why not...?"

As she rolled over, thoughts crossed her mind. New Riders, that strong Kaijin, that fool Rao and his cronies...and now a new train disaster she was sure to be called in to investigate by JAMPIP the second she left the hotel. Part of her, a very small part, felt bitter about these circumstances. But a larger part, the more rational part told her that in the end, as long as she kept her head up and her eyes forward, she would see to it that Justice prevailed.

As an afterthought, as more pleasant things began overriding her rationality, she wondered exactly how the other Riders felt about the struggle they were facing.

Eating lunch at a McDonald's (Teriyaki rib burgers~!) Mao paused from her half-eaten meal and pulled out her phone.

"Huh, I forgot to tell Ryuji about this little job with the police department..."

She dialed up his number and waited for him to pick up.

"Ugh..." Hiro groaned as his radio alarm blared.

>"In onther news, a second subway train has-"<

THWACK!

The mighty hand of weariness came down and silenced the alarm forever... Or at least until Hiro set it again.

"One of these days...I would actually like to come to your apartment." Hayate said as he and Motoko left the Love Hotel.

"But this is much more convenient, and I live in such a small place." Motoko whined back. "You gotta understand, it's stuffy and crowded with just one person. Two people...ugh..."

"Then how about you come to my place? I have a two bedroom apartment." Hayate suggested.

"Huh!? On pizza boy money!?" Motoko exclaimed.

"Well...I actually inherited it from my parents, but yeah. It's a nice place overlooking downtown."

Motoko hummed. "I'll think about that."

She felt a faint buzzing at her wrist and frowned. Just as she thought.

"Well, I'm going to be late for work. So I'll see you around." Hayate kissed Motoko before turning and running off to his motorcycle. "Enjoy the rest of your vacation, Motorola!"

"Will do!" She replied blushing. As he rode off, she pulled out her cellphone and opened it. As she put the phone to her ear, she pressed the face of her wrist watch, scrambling the line and securing it. "Yeah? What's up?"

"The Subway Tunnel. Get in there. Now."

"You got it, I'm on my way."

"And be quick about it, 'Knight' and his cronies are on the move too. He contacted Ryuhou and is moving to meet him, Nimbus is also on the move to get to the scene. If you have to...do not let ANY of them interfere with the investigation."

"...Permission to use force?"

"Excessive."

Motoko grinned. "Alright. Rolland out, see ya."

"So how is things back there when you left? Shinmeru still in a snit over the subway thing?" Shuji asked, doing a small inventory after a rash of customers a few minutes after Gosuke had arrived.

"Oh, they were fine, you know how he is. He's more serious about things than he should be." Gosuke replied, stuffing his hands into his jacket.

"That's good, I'd hate to face down his pitbull stare again."

"That's right, he gets scary at times."

"You see anything on the new guy?"

"Lee, the guy wearing the Ketto belt?"

"Yeah, him."

"Not much, Mushibre has him under wraps for the most part."

"Ah."

"Hey, don't worry about it. It wouldn't suit you to be blue about it Indigo."

"Hey, hey, don't even joke about that out here."

"Sorry, Shuji."

Shuji checked his watch and was surprised that he was getting off soon.

"Hey, I get off in five minutes. You want to go do something afterwards?"

"Sure, but what?"

"I dunno, go riding around. They left that bike in my care."

"Oh ho, gonna embarrass me with the perks of your position, Shuji?"

"No, I just need to get better at ridining it is all."

"True, sounds like a good idea."

"Really? All right, I'll be on the way. Ah, It's pretty far, Knight, mind picking me up? I'm at the corner of 42nd and Main. And one more thing? Try to be inconspicious! You can't just waltz into this kind of thing! Remember what happened at the factory."

Damn, another attack? What is going on here? Are they... already here? I will have to find out for myself...

Ryuji sputtered, "What?! Wait..wait...wait...where are you right now? There? Just....wait. I'm coming there now. Don't leave, ok?" He said, hanging up. Sighing Ryuji scratched his head.

"Hey kid? You ok? You're looking pale."

"I'm...not Genzo. I gotta go now. I'll be back later," he said to the older man. "Well, ok. Later kid."

"Goodbye Genzo," And with that, RYuji dashed outside.

Sighing as he walked into his new house, he threw a whole bunch of the things he had picked up on the way home onto the table. Grabbing a Snickers bar from a bag of stuff he'd bought at the Quikie Mart, he grabbed another bag with groceries in it and openedl the refridgerator. Ripping the wrapping off of the Snickers bar, he broke it into three pieces, all of which he then jammed into his mouth. Grabbing the stuff in the bag, he began to place them into the refridgerator as he chewed and thought.

[On the radio at the Quikie Mart... Said there was another railroad accident... I'll have to find out where this accident is... Maybe Ms. Motoko would know about it?]

Putting the last item, a cabbage, into the refridgerator, he closed the door and grabbed his cell phone. Punching in the number he was given, he brought the phone next to his ear.

"Ms. Motoko! Did you hear about the railroad accident?"

She had just arrived at the subway station nearest the disaster when the phone rang. As she peered around, looking for a good place to change, she answered the phone.

"Rolland speaking."

"Ms. Motoko! Did you hear about the railroad accident?"

"Ah, just heard about it on the radio. I'm near the subway station where it happened. It's on a different line than last time...and supposedly an entire train disappeared. Something weird's going on."

"And I'll be going down there to see for myself. Hopefully, I can save some people this time."
