The mirror never lies
Soon, the Sluggish Carrot was swarming in lights, of the red white and blue kind. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department had busted in, after getting some calls of a masscre, and it was their hunch that this place was the cover for some gang activity. While others looked for evidence of the latter, others came in looking for the former, and found it in full. Blood was literally flowing from the, human remains taken part, skulls and fleshy pieces all over the place.....

"What the hell happened here?"
==========================
Outside, while more forces arrived on scene, the police esorted the young girl they'd been looking for to one of the cars, she stopped and looked back for a moment...And then continued to the car.

From the darkness of the night, red eyes looked out from above, and then slowly disappeared into the dark.

After reaching the top of the tower, Zhongfu stayed at a distance, so as to not attract attention. Kneeling down, the Transfiguring Heaven Arm on his left arm transformed into a bow, which he grabbed with his left hand. Channeling energy from the right half of the THA, he created a light arrow, and putting the arrow to the bow, pulled it back and took aim. Breathing once, he stiffened his arm, and loosed the arrow at a bat-like creature that was sneaking behind the Kamen Rider with the interesting gun. Darting through the air, the glowing bolt of energy didn't hit dead on. As its mark moved, the bolt of light flew through the left side of the bat-like creature's waist, and while not killing it instantly, did serve to deal it some pain, the pitiful creature backing off from its attempt.

Zhongfu then stood up, the Transfiguring Heaven Arm on both arms loosened, assuming a clothlike form. Taking a pose with his right arm extended horizontally across his chest, he slowly brought the arm to point forward before snapping into a wide stance with his left arm extended forwards and right arm back.

"HENSHIN!"

The Transfiguring Heaven Arm engulfed him, and emerging from a flash of light was a masked man who, in the center of his armor, had what was commonly known nowadays as the "Yin-Yang Symbol". He was Kamen Rider Taiji. Taking a leap forward, he somersaulted once in midair before landing next to the Rider with the interesting gun, giving a thumbs up as he stood up.

Keeping themselves down on the ground for the moment, they considered springing up to attack the creatures with their weapons, but even these guy's weapons didn't seem to do heavily decisive damage to them. However, their weapons were proving to be more than effective in keeping them away. Looking at the other people, Aj sighed.

"Alright, on the count of three, spring up and give them some covering fire. I don't know how effective we'll be in trying to bring them down, but we can at least distract them to allow the others to take them down." Aj said, as he sprung up and took aim with his handgun, and aimed at the nearest bat-creature. However, as soon as he tried aiming, one of the creatures landed before him.

"Ah... Ahhhhhhhhh!!!" he screamed, as he squeezed off several rounds into the creatures stomach, who retaliated by bringing it's claw around and rending his handgun in 2. Before Aj could leap back to get away from the creature, it swung back with it's hand, smacking Aj into a nearby set of steel beams, groaning at the pain that shot through his body.

"Gugh! Jake, Mike, step back and shoot the thing!" he yelled, as he tried getting to his feet. However, Jake and Mike were too stricken with fear to attempt firing at the beast, instead preferring to back-off. Cursing at himself, Aj attempted to pull himself away from the battle, until the man-bat that smacked him aside turned and begun to advance on him.

"Tch... Just wonderful... Some JSSDF soldier I turned out to be..." he muttered, as he attempted to reach into his black overcoat to pull out his secret weapon. However, the man-bat was advancing a little too fast for his preferences...

"Select-fire mode, Single Round."

Twirling White Mustang, Motoko aimed it for the bat creature stalking the newcomer as she nodded to her new compatriot.

A single shot rang out, tearing off the Bat creature's right arm at the elbow. Firing again, she hit it in the back of the left leg, shattering its kneecap and sending it collapsing to the ground.

Twirling the pistol again, she aimed at the bat creature that had pulled itself down from the ceiling and fired, putting a slug through its left shoulder and shattering it. Howling in pain, the beast fell to the ground.

"Hyaah!" Shuji yelled as he swung a punch at a holo-monster. He was back in Inago's armored form. The punch, while slow, had enough force behind it to obliterate the monster. Houji watched on, a slight smile on his face.

"How is it, Date?"

"This is great! I feel so strong and powerful."

"No real ill effects?"

"Not that I've noticed."

"Switch to Rider Form."

"Restraint off!"

The heavy armor vanished once again.

Change Locust!

With the increase in speed, Shuji tore into a larger number of foes than before.

The soldier closed his eyes for the inevitable. He could hear tearing sounds and screams of pain... But they weren't his. Opening his eyes, he realized one of the female Riders had turned and began to make quick work of the Man-Bat advancing on him. Well he wasn't able to provide a direct distraction, but a make-shift one seemed to work.

"Whoa man... I thought I was going to bite it there for a minute... Everything seems to be back together again... Though that thing messed up my Handgun... I can't show fear now! I'm already in this, and as a JSSDF soldier, I will lay down my life against any threat! ... Still, these things are creepy..." Aj muttered in his head, as he stood up and dusted himself off.

"Uhh... Thank you, ma'am, for your support. I came here following a man who I thought might be involved with the recent string of kidnappings, and I kind-of stumbled upon here... What the hell are these things?" he asked, as he turned to the other Riders fighting them. Sure he didn't have any fancy armor or super powers. But he did have a Shotgun. Putting his hand behind him while under his black overcoat, he shifted the SPAS-12 Combat Shotgun forward.

"I'm only a simple JSSDF soldier, but i'm willing to lay my life down on the line if need be." he concluded, completely unaware of just what he was throwing himself into.

"Unless you think you'll slow us down, you can do what you like. But I don't think we'll be able to protect you from all of them." Motoko answered as the two bat creatures she had injured with Rider Burst got up again and staggered toward the two of them.

"Why did I even end up working with them? I wonder if headquarters has anything new for me." Ryuhou sighed as he drove down the mountain in the van. Then again, it could had been worse. "Yeah it could had been worse. Oh well. I'm sure they'll be okay on their own."

Turning to the bat who had gotten up to stagger towards then, Aj raised the SPAS-12 for it's stomach and fired, sending it reeling back down to the ground. Standing there for a few moments, he waited to see if the creature was still alive... And sure enough, it was. Slowly, the creature began to get back to it's feet, while Aj trained the guns sights on the beast.

"I don't know if I can kill any of these things... You guys have all of the special powers. How about I play distraction and try shooting them, while you bring the pain? Hopefully I can get out of this unscathed. Mike and Jake are too scared to do anything right now..." he facepalmed, looking at the stairwell. Mike and Jake were sitting down, huddled up and hands on their Handguns.

"The SPAS-12 is good, but I don't think it has enough stopping power for these freaks unless I get close. And I don't feel like getting torn in 2 or knocked off this building." he spoke again, taking 2 steps to allow Motoko to aim at the beast.

Shuji was working his way through the waves from holo-monsters. Having recieved some weapons from Houji, he was making steady progress.

"Hah!"

"Look at him go." Reika had joined them in the interim, and was amazed at how much skill Shuji was displaying.

"Yes, it seems the Board's decision was sound."

"Shinmeru..."

"Look, Mushibre, I'm sorry for hitting you."

"No, that's ok. I was caught up in the moment too. If I were you, I'd have done that too."

"So everything's okay?"

"Yes. Now the final test."

"The rider kick?"

"Yes. Yuu couldn't handle the energy surge of the kick charger. We've managed to tone it down enough, Date should be able to handle."

Houji pressed the intercom button.

"Date."

"Yes?" Shuji finishes off a monster with a clubbing blow from his tonfa.

"Use the rider kick."

[BGM: "Ima Ga Sono Toki Da" by Ichirou Masaki]

"How?" He elbowed down a monster and kicked it away.

"On the belt buckle, there is a button. Press it three times, then kick the opponent while shouting "Rider Kick." "

"Why?" Shuji was a little perplexed by the last part.

"Why what?"

"Why should I shout "Rider Kick!"?"

"Because that will tell the suit to send the charge into the opponent."

"Oh."

"Now do it."

"Okay, okay, give me a break." Facing down the last holo-monster, Shuji hit the button.

ONE

TWO

THREE....

Charging complete.

Shuji felt the tingle of electricity course through his legs. Focusing, he broke into a run straight at the monster, before leaping into the air and coming down at it.

"RIDER KICK!"

His extended right foot glowed with power as it crashed into the holo-monster, which fell back and shattered in a bright flash of light.

"I... I did it..."

Suddenly, the transformation cancelled and Shuji collapsed.

"Then stay close to me!" Motoko replied as she put two semi-automatic bursts into the bat creature. As it began to buckle, she took precise aim and pumped a single shot into the mortally wounded bat's face. The creature fell back, headless and twitching.

Turning around, she regarded the other Riders fighting the remaining bats, and then the biggest in the room.

Gale held her hands out to the side, then tapped her opposite shoulders, and thrust both arms forward.

"GALE WALL!"

A barrier of wind appeared in front of the bat-creature charging her, sending it spinning, and falling to the ground. She dismissed the wind holding her up, falling, steamlined, quickly catching up with the falling monster and planting her foot in its back.

"Then stay close to me!"

"Yes ma'am." he complied, as he held the Shotgun in a stand-by position, while Motoko pretty much owned the bat herself. As she continued to make mincemeat of the creature, Aj's eyes glanced around the room to check out the other Riders and their abilities. One of them could apparently use wind to her advantage to beat the hell out of her foes.

"These people... How did they acquire their powers, and for how long? I'd have thought they'd be in the news by now if they had them for a long time, and it seems a little too coincidential to see alot of them for the first time in one place. I've still yet to find out what these freaks are..." the man spoke to himself within his head.

Seeing the enemy bat that was just blasted twitching a few more times, Aj shot it 3 times with the SPAS-12, just to make sure it couldn't stay twitching for much longer.

Taking a quick jump backwards, Zhongfu landed next to the gun-using Rider and the soldiers, in a back stance. Moving his right arm in a circle slowly, after finishing one circle, he brought it in towards his chest, the back of his hand pointing away from him. Changing form again, the Transfiguring Heaven Arm now took the form of a Chinese sword. Bringing his left hand up, he took the ready stance of his sect's sword style, placing the palm of his left hand against the pommel of his sword, the tip of the blade facing forward. He would leave the ranged combat to the soldiers. He would keep the bats away from them.

"Oooh..."

Jahnavi let out a small groan as she got up from her sleeping bag. Resting her elbows on her knees, she rested her forehead in her hands and sighed. Another headache, great, that was something she didn't need right now. Looking around her, she saw that it was still dark out, and fell back into her sleeping bag once more.

Letting out a soft sigh, Jahnavi rolled over in her sleeping bag and rested her forearm over her forehead. Staring up at the ceiling of the cave she had found refuge for the night in, she closed her eyes and listened to the nothingness that surrounded her. After a brief moment, she pulled the blankets away from her and slowly walked over to the watering hole for a drink.

After finding an oasis in the middle of the desert, Jahnavi couldn't have been more thrilled. Kneeling over at the mouth of the watering hole, she cupped her hands together and took a small sip of water. It wasn't the best tasting, but it was better than nothing.

Wiping her mouth with the side of her hand, she wondered how to plan the rest of the night. It was too hot to travel in the day, so she had to do it at night. The first time she tried to walk around the desert under the scorching sun, she had nearly died of dehydration and exposure.

She had to go home, but the problem was, where is home? She had no recollection of where it was, nor her town's name. All she could remember was that they lived in a city in India. Though with her captors constantly trying to attack her day after day, that might prove to be a little more than difficult. If that weren't enough, she also knew that there were marauders in the desert who raid caravans, and make slaves out of wonderers.

But so far, they were no problem to her. Everywhere she went, a trail of strewn bodies were left after her. Not bothering to give them a proper burial, she figured that the scavengers would pick their bones clean of their sun-broiled flesh. She also knew that she shouldn't get too cocky and arrogant, one of these days they might send someone she can't possibly defeat. It'll only be a matter of time until it'd be her time to face the gods of death. Though, over time, death didn't scare her as much as it used to. After all, she wouldn't be surprised if she somehow saw these people again when she will be re-born into her next life.

Getting back into her cave, she began to pack her things, she had already rested enough. Slinging her things over her shoulder, she let out a sigh and continued on her way. With her scimitar at her side, she had very little to worry about if anyone attempted to mug her, then again, she had very little money to give anyway.

She made a mental note to somehow get a job to earn some cash if she found another town up ahead. Even if she'd have to work and deal with humans for a couple days, she needed to do so if she wanted to keep on living.

Reaching into her pockets, she saw that she had a lot less money than she thought. Only having in her pockets, 5 small coins, she shook her head. Not even enough to buy her one meal, she groaned at the fact that she'd have to hunt for her own meals again.

As she passed by, she saw a few camps around the oasis that she shared with. Looking around, she saw that a few caravans were offering her to join them for a meal, and possibly travel with them. An offer she quickly refused, Jahnavi had no desire to travel with anyone.

'In a world of many, I stand alone,' was a line that rang true in the young girl's heart. After what had happened, she had very little trust for other people. Then again, she also didn't want to cause harm to any innocents, so she just shyed away from human contact all together. Though, for as long as she's concerned, anyone who stands in her way is her enemy, no matter who they are, and she'll fight to the death if she had to.

While looking up at the stars, she made a silent prayer to the god Shiva, asking him to grant her a safe journey for the rest of the night.

After the bat had been finished off, the other 2 that accompanied it earlier now turned their attention to the 3 soldiers, before one of the other Riders stepped infront of Aj and them. Brandishing his chinese sword-like weapon, he attempted to halt the beasts advances, while simultaneously trying to destroy them. Bringing the Shotgun up, Aj fired another shell at one of the bats, the spread shot nailing it's wing.

"Tch, the SPAS-12 won't work well at a distance... Still, as long as you guys are covering the close-combat and ranged bit, then I won't have to worry about getting close, at least... Now I just have to hope they don't get close enough to me." Aj sighed, as he brought the weapon up again and fired 4 more shells at the Bats, before beginning to reload the weapon.

"Huh... I have a story to tell the other guys when I get back. I fought ugly monsters and temporarily joined forces with superheroes... no wait, they'd believe I went out drinking..." Aj muttered quietly in his head, as he finished replacing the shells within the SPAS-12 before reloading the weapon once more. A new shell in the chamber, he waited for the next bat to get close.

Mao finally reached the bottom, and squeezed back out into the cool, dark evening.

"That was incredible... and to think there's probably more fighting going on!" she said aloud, excited liked a little child at something like this happening in Tokyo.

Running back to the fence, she hiked up her skirt again after retrieving her bag, and scaled over it. Dropping down, she felt her shoes make a strange "spplrsh" sound.

"Huh...?"

Looking down, she gagged when she saw Ryuji sprawled out on the ground in a pool of vomit, of which she just happened to land in.

"What the hell happened, Ryu?" she asked, gingerly stepping out of the vomit and dragging him back to dry land. Turning him over, she took a bottle of water and some napkins out of her bag and began to wipe up his face.

---

Elsewhere that same night, one of the younger members of Mao's little fanclub was doing her own little act of delinquency. The 16-year-old girl with long, vibrantly pink and yellow dyed hair named Emi had decided she didn't like her parents' curfew rules, and had snuck out of her house wearing a miniskirt and halter top to go to a nightclub.

Now, she was walking alone on the relatively-deserted backstreets of Tokyo...

Locking onto the second bat, Motoko tossed the White Mustang and grabbed it by the barrel to pistol whip the monster across the face. As the bat stumbled to the side and recovered Motoko ran up the front of the creature, from its knee to its shoulder, and jumped to the ceiling.

Flipping, she landed and crouched on the ceiling before kicking herself off.

"RIDER PUNCH!"

Her punch connected with the bat, sending it smashing through the floor and the floor below--only to come to a stop forming a crater two floors down.

Standing at the edge of the crater, Motoko cracked her knuckles as she held up her fist.

Watching in awe as Motoko managed to brutally smack around and outright smash the man-bat through the ground, Aj stood there with his mouth agape, and his SPAS-12 hanging at his side. The third bat had leapt overhead and attempted to fly down on the man to rip him apart with it's claws. However, Aj rolled forward before getting to his feet and turning. As soon as the man-bat landed, he recieved a Shotgun blast to the back, causing it to stumble forward.

"Stay down, you freak! " he yelled, as he fired another shot, then another, then another, and then one more. Before smashing it over the back with the weapon a few times. Once the creature turned and attempted to slash the man with it's claws, Aj ducked, before rising up and shoving the barrel of the deadly weapon into the man-bats stomach.

"Suck lead, monster!" Aj yelled, as he ejected the last shell of the SPAS-12 into the man-bat sending it airborne. The creature spun several times, before correcting itself, and spreading it's wings. After all of that punishment, it was STILL freaking standing and trying to escape. Lowering himself to the ground, he attempted to hurry and reload his weapon.

"It's trying to escape! Shut it down!" Aj yelled out, fumbling to get the shells into the Shotgun.

Gale turned, seeing the monster being thrown toward her, and leaped off her quarry towards it. She pressed her hands together, then held them out to her sides as she spun in the air. When the range was right, she extended a leg...

"GALE KICK!" As the leg swung past the beast, a sharp wind swing with it, slicing the monster's wings to ribbons and making deep gashes across its chest.

Then, bouncing off it with her other foot as it fell, she returned to the one she'd been riding down, slamming it into the wall.

Krieger whistled tunelessly as he leapt into the air and landed on the back of one of the fluttering Man-bats, driving it to the metal floor with a loud crunch. Then he grabbed its wings and ripped them off before stabbing the creature with it's own bones.

Stepping off the brutalized corpse, Krieger made eye-contact with the large, black man-bat which watched the events with baleful red eyes, hanging upside down in the shadows from the higher platform.

There was a tense moment, then Krieger hopped down the stairs and began to walk to the ground floor.

There Krieger noticed a man with a bat.

"You like a helpful type." Krieger said after a slow second. "I don't suppose you could lend a hand with this...?" he trailed off as he made a fist and approached one of the surrounding walls. Tapping his right arm in the proper sequence, he initiated the charge-up for the Rider Impact.

"Rider Impact!" The wall cracked and splintered when he smashed it with his fist and ballooned outwards.

"...hit harder next time..." Krieger cracked his neck as he removed his fist from the crater. Then he charged back up and sent his fist flying into the crater again, this time with twice the power behind it as before. A massive gap, fully eight feet wide and nine feet tall, blew outward from the ten foot thick concrete slab.

"Better."

Hiro was both grateful for and confused the appearance of all the new Riders. At least they all seemed to be on the same side. Hiro slashed down on one of the bats as it swooped past, lopping off one of its wings. It slammed into the floor and skidded into the wall.

"Rider Impact!"

Hiro turned to see the Rider destroy a nice chunk of the wall.

"Hot damn..."

Sanshiro sneered, looking up at the rest of the building above.

"Noisy, loud... flashy? What is going on up there? I'm never sleeping at this rate," he spat out, pounding his free fist against a concrete wall... forgetting his abnormal strength briefly, leaving a web of cracks radiating from where his hand was.

"You like a helpful type. I don't suppose you could lend a hand with this...?"

Looking up, Sanshiro spotted someone coming down the building... someone costumed, wearing an armored suit, black-ish it seemd in the dim light. With a scarf, and a familiar-looking helmet...

Sanshiro chuckled for a moment. "So... there's more out there, huh... should have seen it coming. Wonder if they sent him..." he trailed off.

Watching the Rider start to dismantle the wall, Sanshiro shrugged. "Sure. This building was starting to become a nuisance as it is." Looking down at his oversized belt buckle -- the only new-looking thing on his body -- he sighed. "I suppose I should dress for the occasion, huh?"

Grabbing the buckle on both sides, he pulled, as it came off in two halves. Finger holes popped down, and he attached one to each hand, like some sort of strange high-tech brass knuckles. He raised both hands, as if he meant to smash them together. Smirking, he said one word.

"Henshin."

And so, he did slam his fists together, triggering a transformation sequence that began with the arms and ran in a wave all over his body, armor appearing seemingly over his clothes. Long rectangular guards appeared over the arms, and a chain was wrapped around his abdomen. Looking back at the other Rider, he flexed his fist and said,in an amused tone of voice,

"So, will this do?"

before generating a small purpish-black sphere in his other hand, letting it sit for a second, then slamming it into the crack he'd made earlier. The force of his arm, plus the sphere's subsequent (though small-scale) explosion, sent rumbles throughout the building, and left a hole a few meters around the point of impact. The wall began cracking all the way through, a web forming even on the outside of the building.

"Hmmph. A start, anyways," he commented, before cracking his fists. "Shall we keep going?"

Krieger had already started charging up another Rider Impact while he walked over to the other wall.

"Lets." He said as he slammed his fist into the wall and blew out another hole. The structural integrity of the building was already beginning to fail, and another hole like the one he had made in the last remaining undamaged wall would be enough to send the whole thing crumbling in on itself.

"Would you care to have the honors?"
