"Well you're in luck!" Motoko said. "The Tokyo Metro Police is in dire need of manpower. Everything from Meter Maids to SWAT Team, you name it there's an opening waiting to be filled!" She quickly handed Mao an application. "I'm almost certain you can find the position that best works for you! All you have to do is sign up and see!" Turning to Ran, she handed her one as well. "Ditch those obligations of yours! What can be more important than protecting and serving the city you live in!? You take so much from Tokyo, what's wrong with giving something back through hard work, sweat, blood, and honor!?" |

you have no idea what kind of obligations I have, Ran thought, mentally jabbing at the metal in her pocket. But she shrugged, accepting the papers and tucking them away. "Like I said," she said, "No promises. Though you do have my vote for this year's 'most Enthusiastic,'" she added, dryly. |

"Well hell, I don't have obligations. I dunno, maybe this'll be some of that 'work experience' they talked about back in school," Mao said, filling out the form on Ryuji's back without even asking him. "By the way... didn't catch your name, officer?" |

She salutes the trio. "I am--!" She lowered the bullhorn. "I am Sergeant Motoko Rolland. I'm the Raging Mustang of the Tokyo Metro Police, in my years of service, I haven't let a single perpetrator escape my clutches!" |

Motoko sighed. "No ma'am, I'm not breaking any ordinances AND by perps I mean criminals, what else would I mean? Sheesh." She then turned to Mao and shook her hand after taking the application. "And thank you for your application. I'll..." "Hey, Sarge!" Yagami called. "There's some kind of disturbance down near that construction site you don't like." A chill ran down Motoko's spine. "Are there any other units closer?" "We're the closest, sorry!" Yagami replied. Sighing, Motoko bowed to the three of them. "Well, I have to get going, see you!" Heading over to the van, she ran around it to the squad car parked in front of it. "Yagami take Kawazu back to HQ and help her with those papers. When I get back, we'll go get some Korean Barbecue!" "Sure thing, as long as we don't go drinking!" Yagami replied as Motoko quickly peeled off and toward that building site... A short drive later "This is Sergeant Rolland." Motoko said as she pulled up to the construction site. "I've arrived the scene and I'm proceeding to investigate the activity." Parking the car and drawing her pistol, she stepped out and began walking into the site. Right away, she heard thought she heard screeching and clangs higher up. "This is Rolland, I might need some backup..." She looked at her radio and frowned when she got static back in reply. "Alright...that's queer." Her training told her to turn back, but instinct told her better, and she moved deeper into the site. |

As Mao and Ryuji were walking along, trying to decide where to go next where nosy sisters can't follow, Mao's mind drifted. Earlier, one of her friends had called her, to gossip about the disappearances in the city. Mao knew they were happening, but when she asked Saya to elaborate, there really wasn't much her friend could say. All the people simply disappeared, with no eyewitnesses. But, one detail that stood out like a huge neon sign was "they all happened around the new skyscraper construction site." Said skyscraper could be seen further ahead, the central column towering about the closest buildings. It was also rather sore thumb-ish; with that huge lot around it it didn't blend in well with the surrounding city. "Hey, Ryu... have you wondered about those disappearances lately?" Not waiting for an answer, Mao began to run off in the direction of the skyscraper. Reading enough mystery novels told her there was something about it which had to do with the kidnappings. |

The screeches and the sounds of combat were beginning to bother her, but not as much as the flights of stairs she was forced to navigate. Then again, however, it was better than taking a noisy elevator. Whatever it was that was up there...she didn't want its attention. |

Shuji climbed into the back of the van, sliding it closed before pulling out his cell phone and calling Reika. "This is Mushibre, go ahead." "It's Date, I'm coming back to base." "What, why?" "Because I think I got most of this solved, and if I'm right, there's nothing I could do about." "And if you're wrong?" "Then I've lost my mind." "Ok, slow down, how did you solve this?" "Well..." |

Mao noticed a police cruiser nearby as she arrived in front of the lot; there was likely an officer of the law nearby or even inside... her mystery fangirl side was starting to stir. Looking around, she noted that there was little in the way of pedestrian presence, so she hiked her skirt up and tucked it under the skirt's band to such an extent that her entire lower half was bared, including her favorite chili pepper-patterned black panties were showing, and thusly scaled the fence with her skirt now not getting caught on it. Landing on the other side, she readjusted her skirt and left her bag hanging from the fence as she withdrew her digital camera and small flashlight from the main pocket, along with her knife and blackjack... just in case. Placing these items in her skirt's pocket, she snuck towards the building; she had to be stealthy, like a sleuth. Just in case. Turning on her flashlight, she looked around the construction machines and piled building materials for anything of notice; clues or traces of anything like maybe clothing. Not finding anything, she headed towards the skeletal building; maybe there was something in there...? |

Reaching near the fifteenth floor, Motoko stopped when she was sure she knew the source of the combat. Nearing the stair's top, she peeked over the top and went wide-eyed when she witnessed the scene in front of her. "Oh shit!" She thought as she nearly fell down the stairs. "What are those things!?" Ducking low, she cowered back and peeked as the fight continued on. "One...two...three four five..." She nodded. "Eighteen of those guys, are they the ones responsible for the disappearances?" She then looked over to the Rider. "...And the masked man fighting them off. Alright Motoko..." A moment later, she was scampering down the stairs. "...Time to get the hell out of here!" |

Poking her nose around in the first floor, Mao found nothing of interest. There were maybe twenty floors-worth above her, so she poked around for stairs or something. There weren't any fire escape stairs installed outside yet, and strangely she couldn't locate a construction lift. Looking over at one of the columns, she wondered if there were stairs or a ladder inside. Checking the closest corner column, she found a small opening just large enough to allow someone to pass through, likely for the construction workers. It was plenty of room for her smaller frame to pass, though. Once inside, she didn't find stairs, but there was a ladder. Looking up in the darkness, she shined her flashlight up until it dimmed out. "This is kinda creepy, actually..." she murmured, before grasping the cold steel and beginning her climb. |

Lee, exhausted from a day of playing, yawned heavily when he returned to his rather tiny apartment. Taking off his jacket, he threw it on the floor and plopped on the bed. He turned on the TV, watching with one eye open as he drifted closer to sleep. "Today was fun, I should go out more." He muttered, finally passing out with the TV on. The sound of an electronic binocular zoomed in on Lee's window, focusing on his weary face. "I knew you'd be interested in him, Hiyori. He might make it work." A man said, grinning slighty at the woman peering into Lee's window. "Or maybe it's something more personal?" He got an elbow in his nose for the remark. "OW!" "Shut it Shun, you'll wake up the neighborhood." Hiyori said, zooming in further, getting a glance at his toned abs as his shirt slid up from his shuffling. "You weren't wrong though, he seems to have the ability to use 04." Shun got up, holding his nose and spoke with a funny voice, "That? I though it was failure." He was elbowed in the stomach this time. "It wasn't a failure, none of my work is. I can't be held responsible if most of humanity is too weak to handle it." She said, pulling the binoculars off her eyes. "Well, he'll be sleeping till morning, so there's no point watching him further. I'll get permission from the higher ups to use him in the morning." Putting the binoculars in a briefcase, she stood up and walking down the fire escape from the roof. "I'm going home. I suggest you do the same." |

"Hey, Ryu... have you wondered about those disappearances lately?" "I guess so," the boy said, as his girlfriend ran off. "Mao? Wait!" He cired running after her, until they reachd a Tokyo PD Pollice Cruiser.. "Wait...wait...wait," Ryuji said in vain as she scarambled around excitedly, seemingly ignoring his words. "Mao," he siad, trying again, just as she hiked up her skirt and started climbing the fence. Good Gravy... He thought, as a trail of drool leaked out of the corner of his mouth. By the time Ryuji recovered from his thoughts of lewdness, Mao had dissapeared. Dammit. Curse you heterosexuality! Betrayed again! He sighed, knowing that his niggling cowardice was at work again. Ryuji put his hands in his pocket and sat down on his Vespa, occasionally rubbing his arms to ward off he cold. Occasionally, Ryuji glanced at his cell and checked the time. "Where is she?" Ryuji was sure that more than twenty minutes had gone by when he checked his cell for the fifth time. Of couse he wasn't sure, worry and fear had made him lose track long ago. What is going on... He wondered, almost sick with worry. Ryuji looked up at the building, worry creasing his face, as one word escaped from his lips. "Mao." "Use the power." "Huh?" "Use the power." The disembodied voice said again. Ryuji looked down at the amulet, he had found that day, over a month ago. It was glowing, and could clearly be seen through the shirt that he wore over it. Ryuji reached in and pulled the damn thing out. He stared intently at it, the depths amulet suddenly seeming to go as deep as the ocean. Ryuji blinked and snapped out of his trance, "Wait what do you mean?" He asked, feeling really damn silly for talking to a piece of jewelry. The amulet only glowed in response. |

[Somewhere in the East] "Uwah!" The sound of a dying rattle of a man in black slipped from his throat as his freshly limp body was quickly dropped to the floor. A tall, sleek form stepped over the body and let out a small yet deep growl. For a moment there was silence, the vicious monster let out a slight snarl as it tried to listen carefully to it's surroundings. Taking a deep breath, the creature inhaled the thick, musky air for any signs of life. Aside from the expected scent of the metallic stench of blood, for a moment it couldn't sense anything. Looking around it thought that it was all the same, just like last time. Wondering when they'll ever give up, the creature realized that as long as it was alive, it'd have to defend itself everyday. Before it used to be jarring on the nerves to wake up thinking 'I might die this day,' but soon eventually the creature got used to it. Resting a foot ontop of a body, the creature turned it and shifted it around, trying to see if he had anything useful on him that the creature could use. Seeing that he had nothing aside from money, the monster reached in for his wallet and shifted through it for it's contents. Looking through the billfold, it skimmed through the pictures that it held inside. A wife, a son, nothing too unusual. Holding onto the bills in one hand, the creature was about to continue on it's way. Then suddenly, it's ear twitched when it heard the cocking of a firearm. Letting out a faint, angry growl, it waited for a moment. "Stop right there!" The man said, aiming the gun for the creature's head. "We were ordered to take you back with us!" It's body twitching after hearing that comment, the creature unleashed a harsh defiant snarl and charged for the man. In a panic, the man in black yelled in fear, firing shots from his gun. 4 shots fired, and none landed home. A 5th shot made, and successfully embedded itself into the creature's shoulder. Even though it was clearly screaming out in pain, the creature persisted. It'd rather endure the pain it was feeling right now than go with these people. Stalking up close to the man, he carefully took aim and pointed the gun for the creature's head. But with a quick swipe of it's claws, the creature swiped the gun from the man's hand. Using it's massive, free claw, the creature grabbed the man by the face and held him against a tree nearby. It's ember colored eyes stared coldly into the fear-ridden ones of it's captive prey. For several minutes, the creature let the man linger in the air, it wanted to hear his cries and pleas of forgiveness. As if thriving off the man's fear, the monster let it all continue until soon fell deaf to his please. Gripping on tighter to his face, the man felt the claws dig itself into his skin. Letting out a shrieked panic, the man begged and pleaded harder for the monster to spare his life. The creature who had no intentions at all of letting it's hunter go kept it's grip on the man, and clenched it's fist. |

Ryuji stared back at the Amulet, as his mind began to drift again, the image of a man clad what he thought to be Samurai armour appearing in his mind's eye. The image held up an identical amulet and with a cry of "HENSHIN!" he was suddenly encased in armour, and wielding a very nasty looking spiked chain. The armour clad figured charged foward and disspeared. "Ok...I guess that's what you meant. Well, if I can help Mao..." the boy said, holding the amulet aloft. "HENS....hurk...hurk...hurk..." Ryuji gasped, as a flood of images rushed into his mind. Long forgotten battles, won and lost. Valiant Heroes, and evil villians. Lost fighting techniques. They all came into his mind, but it was too much for Ryuji to comprehnd. The sheer shock was enough to make the boy fall to his knees, and tilt right over. As Ryuji's head smacked into the cold concrete, everything that he had eaten that day came rushing back up and out, pooling near his head and staining his hair and clothes. The images faded away, and he blissfully passed out. |

Once they entered the construction lot, they appeared to have lost sight of the man. There was no sign of either movement, nor sounds of a man walking through there. It was almost as if he had vanished into thin air. Plling out their side-arms, the 3 men got into formation, before moving their flashlights across the area. So far, nothing but mice seemed to stir. "We lost him... What might have been the only lead in this case... Tch. Stick together, we're going to use standard military tactics. Form up and cover one another on your way around. We're not going to be splitting up and going down different paths. Walkie-talkies don't seem to work in here." he said, as he heard nothing but static come from his. Sighing, he shut it off. "As long as you're not attacked, don't open fire. Let's move." Aj said, as they began to search around for clues or the man they were chasing. |

As he ran around in search of something suspicious, one thing did catch his eye, abieit a bit small. Landing behind a wall under the cover of some uninstalled piping, he peeked his eye around the corner. Seeing a group of men in the construction site, he noticed a weapon in one of the men's coat, though his eyes were straining just to see it in this dark night. He was a pretty good shot back home, but at the distance seperating him and the group, it was a pretty amazing feat for him. "We lost him... What might have been the only lead in this case... Tch. Stick together, we're going to use standard military tactics. Form up and cover one another on your way around. We're not going to be splitting up and going down different paths. Walkie-talkies don't seem to work in here." [What is the military doing here?] [I don't know. That may have explained the abandoned JSDF van we saw earlier.] [Indeed. They must be doing something...] [You should check it out.] [Gotcha.] Heeding the recommendations of the Transfiguring Heaven Arm, he pulled out a black cloth from the small bag he wore on his back, and tied it around his mouth area. If he was seen, then at least they wouldn't see his face. Taking a leap upwards, he quietly landed on a temporary metal support beam for the exterior contruction going on, and from there, watched Aj and his men search the construction site. |

The Blade that Cuts Injustice
|
Hiro rolled out of the way as one of the bats swooped in with its claws. He dodged again when two more followed, then another and another. "Fighting 18 of these is going to ba a pain in the ass..." He swung his leg around as he sidestepped another bat and kicked it in the back, knocking it into the wall. "Guess I'll just have to kill some." One flew in from behind. It grew closer and closer to Hiro's vulnerable back only to find empty space where its prey should have been. The bat then felt pain where its back should have been. Hiro slammed his knees into the bat and knocked it to the floor. As he raised his right fist, it began to glow. "RIDER PUNCH!" The glowing fist plowed through the bat's back and into the floor. Energy shot through the monster's body and caused it to explode. "One down..." But through the explosion came another bat, and it was not happy. It was too late for Hiro to do much but bring up an arm as it slammed into him and attempted to eat his face. "Not on the first date!" |

"What the heck?" Hiro was confused by the bat suddenly falling and dying. He looked around quickly. Obviously, he couldn't get much a view trying to dodge bats, but he could feel something was there. Whether it was hostile toward him or not was to be seen, but he'd have to be on guard for that in addition to the bats regardless of whether it saved him or not. "Ha!" Punching a bat, two more swooped in and grabbed him by the arms, pulling him off the ground. One bit onto its prize. Hiro didn't like that. Pulling his legs up, he contorted his lower body sideways before sending a kick to each of the monsters' faces. "Sol Blade!" As Hiro landed, a light shot from his hand before forming into a blade. Swinging it out to the side, he charged toward the oncoming bats. |

Shuji entered the cafeteria, having been told to go there. "Shinmeru! It's too soon!" Reika said, waving her hands in the air. The briefcase she had carried was open and the contents in the possession of the people arguing. "The Board has decided Mushibre, you have no say in this matter." Houji glared at the woman, contemplating how to get the brace from her. "I don't care! This thing is dangerous, give me back the unit now!" She started forward, trying to take it back from him. He backhanded her. Hard. The brace flew from her nerveless grasp and landed at the feet of the stunned Shuji. "Pick it up and put it on Date." "W-what?" "Did I stutter? Pick it up and put it on!" Shuji bent down and picked the brace up, studying it for a moment. "Quit staring and put it on." Looking down at the dazed Reika, Shuji decided to put the brace on. "Now what?" Houji tossed the Henshin Unit to him. "Attach that to the brace." "Don't listen to him Date! It's not safe!" Reika shouted, getting up to a kneeling postion. "Quiet." "What's so dangerous about it?" "Nothing." "Bullshit!" Reika tried to regain her feet only to be roughly pushed to the ground. "Date." Houji said, a stern frown as he reached into his coat. "This is not a request. This is a order, from the Board." "Okay, okay." Shuji attached the unit to the brace. "Now what?" "Raise your left arm like this." Houji demonstrates. "A button should pop out. Press it and yell out "Henshin." " "That's it?" "That's it." "Date..." Reika growled. "Don't." Houji pulled out a gun from his coat and trained it on her. "You will shut your mouth Mushibre. If I have to shoot you to shut you up I will." Shuji watched helplessly, the Shadowy Organization had always been a jovial, chummy place. But now, it seemed the evil that had been lurking beneath the surface had boiled. "Mushibre, don't you know when to quit?" "Date! This isn't the time for you to act cool!" "And how are you going make it up to your older brother who gave his life to see this complete?" "You... how do you know that?" "I told him. It was before he left for his investigation." "..." "That's right. Shut up and leave it to me." She hung her head. "Yuu..." Shuji raised his left arm to its proper position. [BGM Stoner Sunshine] "HENSHIN!" Reaching the 11th floor, Motoko came to a stop and froze when she noticed a low growl off to her side. Looking over, she stepped back in surprise when she saw one of the bat creatures stalking down the steps toward her. It must've seen her when she had booked it. "Damn it..." She looked around quickly as she drew her sidearm and aimed it at the beast. "I gotta get away from this thing..." The beast attacked, and Motoko was only able to squeeze off two shots before diving out of the way of the bat's claws, which ripped through an I-Beam behind her with ease. As the bat turned toward her, she scrambled backward, and toward the edge of the floor. Looking back, she gulped when she saw the fall below her. "Only one chance..." She muttered before the Bat lunged for her again. As it dove, she rolled out of the way, a chunk of concrete and steel taken in her stead as the bat fluttered clumsily out into the night air beyond. Quickly, she got up as the beast threw away the concrete block in frustration and turned to face her again, its leathery wings flapping to keep it airborne. |
