The man who destroys worlds and creates worlds

Basic Concept: An SRW that finally brings in a large number of fanstasy series, as well as the rather odd concept of on-foot battles. Series Involved: Note that this list is yet incomplete, but the ideal choices would be modern-near future series with limited scale of action (OVAs or series with less focus on mecha), as well as a number of other-world fantasy series. Modern: G Gundam Endless Waltz G-Unit Full Metal Panic Tekkaman Blade Mazinkaiser OVA + Movie New Getter Robo Fantasy: Cybaster (the SRW version, not the crappy anime) Dunbine Escaflowne Rayearth Vandread Plot: Space Era 94. For the longest time, the world was at peace, thanks to the advent of the Gundam Fight. However, with the arrival of the Devil Gundam just before the 13th Gundam Fight's start, the fragile peace was thrown into chaos and warfare. Almost overnight, clouds of war appeared over the planet. Experimenting with new technology, nations began creating war machines like mobile suits and arm slaves. Just when it looked like the world was about to plunge headlong into never-ending warfare, a portal opened up to a new world, where a conflict of knights, mages and magical armor threatened to devour another planet. In the crucible of war, it's up to the young heroes from both worlds to unite and save their homes from eternal darkness. Role played by each series in the game: G Gundam - A rather large part, since the Devil Gundam's arrival (earlier here than in the series) precipitates the war. The Gundam Fight is held in a last-ditch attempt to resolve the conflict peacefully, but it happens anyway, and the Gundam Fighters enter the conflict with the intent of bringing all sides back to the negotiating table. Player Units: Shining Gundam, God Gundam, Rising Gundam, Gundam Maxter, Dragon Gundam, Gundam Rose, Bolt Gundam, Nobel Gundam, Gorby II Enemy Units: Devil Gundam (various evolutions), Master Gundam, Grand Gundam, Walter Gundam, Gundam Heaven's Sword, Death Army Hidden Units: Master Gundam Endless Waltz - Actually a little deceptive; thanks to G-Unit's inclusion, EW can stand in for Gundam Wing itself. The plot acted out would be a truncated version of the series, with the Ver.Ka Gundams standing in. After resolving this, the boys go to the other world to help with its problem, and return just in time for Dekim's Operation Meteor. Player Units: Wing, Wing Zero, Deathscythe, Deathscythe Hell, Heavyarms, Heavyrms Kai, Sandrock, Sandrock Kai, Shenlong, Altron, Tallgeese III, Taurus (SK), Peacemillion Enemy Units: Leo, Taurus (OZ), Virgo, Virgo II, Epyon, Libra, Serpent, Altron Hidden Units: Epyon G-Unit - The Barnetts are brought in during Gundam Wing's space arc to deal with the Wing Team, but get betrayed by Prize, who wants their Gundams' technology to help win the war. Their support team comes along, and much of the series' plot is re-created within the Earth sphere. Player Units: Geminass 01, Geminass 02, L.O. Booster, Aesculapius, Griepe Enemy Units: Leo-S, Leo-R, Leo-N, Vayeate Shuivan, Mercurius Shuivan, Hydra, Burnlapius Hidden Units: Vayeate Shuivan, Mercurius Shuivan Full Metal Panic - Mithril would end up being a secret peacekeeping force, always on guard lest the peaceful situation devolve. As per the series, Sosuke is protecting Kaname to prevent the secrets she holds as a Whispered from falling into unscrupulous hands. Player Units: M9 Gernsback (Sosuke, Kurtz, Mao units), ARX-7 Arbalest, Bonta-Kun, Tuatha de Danaan Enemy Units: RK-92 Savage, ZY-98 Shadow, Codarl, Codarl-M, Behemoth Hidden Units; Bonta-Kun Tekkaman Blade - The basic series plot would be followed, but a little time would be devoted to D-Boy's reaction to working in the pre-industrial cultures of the other world. Player Units: Tekkaman Blade, Blastor Tekkaman Blade, Pegas, Blue Earth Enemy Units: Radam Beast, Radam Mother, Tekkaman Dagger, Tekkaman Axe, Tekkaman Sword, Tekkaman Lance, Tekkaman Evil, Tekkaman Omega Hidden Units: Tekkaman Rapier Once more, still incomplete. Suggestions appreciated. |

If on-foot battles are what you want, I'd suggest Sadamitsu the Destroyer, myself. It's just awesome. Thought about Maze for the fantasy-ish end of things? |

I dunno about Maze...it would probably creep the hell out of the rest of the team. Especially the manga version of the plot. What about Lamune and 40 Fire? That had a few mecha, and was pretty enjoyable. |

The big difference with Manga Maze is that the two forms of Maze were originally an incestuous brother and sister who ended up in the alternate reality because they had sex. The final villains are eventually revealed to be ancestors of theirs who did the same thing. IIRC, in the anime, they only kissed. |

Might I suggest the Cyber Knight game series. So it's not from Bandai/Banpresto and all, but it's a game and it, atleast the second one, already features battles with Mechas and battles out of them. |

I was thinking, should I add in the Mazinkaiser anime and New Getter? It's a way to include two of the three SRW staples without stealing too much of the attention. Besides, Anime Mazinkaiser isn't as overwhelmingly powerful as its manga and game counterpart. Now, I know someone's going to point out that New Getter pulls off feats that Shin Getter needs assistance for, but I came to that decision because Shin is too overarching, while Neo neglects the original Getter Team. New has debatable levels of power, but then again, so does G Gundam, and besides, New Getter has space- and time-travel involved, which is important given the game's general theme. |

How about God Mazinger instead? It'd fit the fantasy style thing a little better IMO. |

The thing is, God Mazinger lacks a lot of the elements that really make a Mazinger series. That, and AFAIK it only has its sword as a weapon. ^_^;; |

I say go for it. New Getter IS obscenely powerful, but that's never been a real hindrance for a series before. And  at the Maze manga. |

I was planning to stick 'em in my idea way back, so I'd say go for it. Then again, New Getter's whole mucking about in space-time probably fit my concept a bit better, but hey. That can always be worked around/modified/ignored as need be. Besides, more Benkei Musashibou is always a good thing. |

I was also going to suggest New Getter. The title mech may be very powerful, but consider the number and nature of its upgrades. In the final episodes, it becomes as powerful as it does because it absorbs the Getter Rays in that strange universe the Gods transported the Team to. Perhaps you could abbridge that portion of the New plot and have the final battle simply take place in Byston Well or some such, thereby removing a significant power-up. Besides, I never got the impression that the New Getter was as strong as everyone else seem to make it out to be. Shin is a beast, even among Getters. I don't think the New could defeat it. |

If we simply compare them in their anime appearances, New Getter performs moves on its own that Shin only manages by combo-attacking with Shin Dragon. |

New Getter was in a Getter Ray-laced universe, which constitutes an assist, even if it was by a non-sentient being. But I'm splitting hairs. |

Still, I think the idea of incestuous intercourse would creep out basically everyone else. Besides, do you REALLY want the super-horny, bisexual supporting cast meeting up with people like the Magic Knights and the Wing boys? As for New Getter, I don't think its Getter-charged form would be that bad using SRW mechanics. It would probably be a Morale-based transformation like G Gundam's hyper mode. Heck, I might even include the mutated Getter-1 (AKA Ryoma's Custom Getter) as a hidden unit, in the form of a further upgrade to the hyper mode. |

Could always have the New Getter finale stage pull a "Za Powaa" and just give all your units 300 morale or something. |
