Name: Skylar Carrington State Name: - Alias/Nickname: Sky;; Skylar Age: 18 Gender: Female Race: Human Nationality: Amestris;; Central City Height: 5'4 Weight: 100 lbs. Eye color: Blue Hair color: Brown Hair Style: Skylar wears her hair loose, most of the time. It's wavy and falls to just below her waist. Being a soldier, however, this occasionally gets in the way, and she's forced to tie it up into a ponytail when on duty. Clothing: On duty, she wears the standard blue military uniform, a tight black form-fitting shirt underneath. Off duty, she dresses like any other girl, in skirts and dresses, though often in pants and a shirt when she wants to. Overall Pic: I'll draw one myself later. <3 Personality: To put it simply, Skylar can be summed up in one word. Explosive. The slightest thing can tick her off, and when Skylar's angry, it's a pretty good sign that the people nearby need to get out of the way. And fast. Skylar never hesitates to challenge anyone to a fight; friend or foe. To her, you don't really know a person until you've seen them in battle. She's always up for a spar. She speaks her mind, too; if Skylar has a problem with you, you'll know right away. She'll make very sure of that. Though she's quick to anger, Skylar's even quicker to laugh. Despite her fiery temper, she's a good person at heart. Once you get past her rough exterior, she's easy to befriend and get to know. And to the people she truly trusts, and cares about more than anything, Skylar is fiercely loyal. She'll never give up on a friend or comrade, and never leave anyone behind, even if it puts herself in danger as well. She may not seem it at first, but in reality Skylar is a caring person. And when she's off-duty, there's nothing Skylar loves more than a good time; despite being a soldier, and a tough, brutal one, if need be, she does her best to lead an average, carefree life as well. This doesn't always work out, however. There are some things that have to be sacrificed, and sacrifice things Skylar certainly does. She isn't just any girl, she's a dog of the military. She's constantly reminded of this, that she's very nearly signed her soul away to the military. It seems an unlikely fit; Skylar the soldier. Most people would think her too loud, too independent, to join the military. And maybe that's true. She's certainly had to bite her tongue sometimes, keep her opinions to herself, and silently follow orders. She's also gotten her fair share of punishments when she hasn't. But she's fine, and it's worth it, she's protecting people, and she prays she'll never have to hurt them for the wrong reasons. She's working her way up, as far as she can get. Skylar has a goal. Dark Secret: None yet! Idol: None yet! Closest Friend: None yet! Rival: None yet! Skills: Accuracy;; Skylar is a great shot. This is definitely one of her strengths; the ability to hit her target almost unfailingly, whether it be moving or stationary. She isn't perfect, though, and like any person, is prone to missing every now and then. Still, Skylar takes pride in her skillful accuracy. Strength;; She may not look it, but Skylar can pack a punch. She's strong for a girl her age, she's trained quite a bit to make sure of that. Though she's unable to use alchemy, she makes up for it in physical ability to fight without a weapon. Weaponry;; You name it, Skylar can use it. It's not practical to rely on only guns to fight; and that's why Skylar's pushed herself to become knowledgable in the use of many weapons, swords, daggers, lances, and other firearms as well. Though she's good at these as well, her main talent is and always will be guns. Weapons: Like any good soldier, Skylar always has a gun somewhere on her person. She likes to have two or three concealed knives or daggers as well, just in case. Transportation: She likes to walk, due to the fact that she lives by herself and doesn't yet have her own car. Family: Darren Carrington;; Father;; Alive Heather Carrington;; Mother;; Alive History: An average girl, from an average, middle-class family, seemingly destined to lead an average life. That's how the tale of Skylar Carrington began. Born to parents Darren and Heather Carrington of Central City, Skylar was an only child. Growing up, she wasn't much different from the other little girls her age. She wore dresses, played with dolls, and learned to sew. She was her parents' pride and joy; they loved to exclaim at what a perfect little lady she was growing up to be, and for a while, Skylar was happy with this. She never believed that there was anything missing. That is, until she learned exactly just how much she'd been missing out on. She couldn't have been much older than five or six at the time; Skylar had just started school, and was figuring out the basics of making friends. It started out innocently enough; she simply realized that the other girls in her class were too shallow, too superficial. Skylar was quickly voted out of their group, she was too loud, too vocal of her opinions for them. She soon realized that she didn't need them anyways; she could always just play with the boys. And play with the boys she did. They wouldn't accept her either, of course. Not unless she could be like them; climb trees just as easly, run just as fast, catch a ball just as well. So Skylar worked hard to be good at these things, to be accepted. Soon she was one of them, and things stayed that way all throughout her childhood. Her parents disapproved of course, but Skylar was Skylar, and she wouldn't let them hold her down. As she grew up, Skylar began to wonder more and more about her future. It seemed as if all of her friends had goals; mechanics, alchemists, shopkeepers, and more than one little boy who had his heart set on becoming the Fuhrer. Skylar, though, didn't know what she wanted. Not until the events that would change her life forever. Her parents owned a store. It was a decent shop, with all kinds of things for sale, and business was good. Unfortunately, knowledge of this brought along more than just common, paying customers. Skylar was helping her father out in the store one afternoon, when a man burst inside, holding up a gun. He demanded money, or he would shoot, he threatened. But Skylar was Skylar, and she refused. This was her family's hard-earned money, and how could she let some criminal in a mask take it all away just because she wanted to? This was foolish of her, of course. The man was angered; and he got violent. She might have even lost her life, had it not been for the pair of soldiers who arrived in the nick of time, arresting the man and saving the day. From then on, Skylar knew what she wanted to do. She wanted to help people. To protect them. She wanted to be a soldier, and protect the people, and the country, she cared so much about. Learning in school about tragedies such as the Ishbal War, and this encounter with the thief, had left Skylar with one goal; She would protect people. She knew that joining the military meant that she'd be nothing more than a tool used for violence, but Skylar knew how to prevent that. She'd just be the best; she'd get to the top. She'd be in charger, and she'd make sure that her country was safe. It was a lofty goal, to be sure. But she had her heart set on it, and she wouldn't let anyone hold her down. Because Skylar was Skylar. RP Sample: A slight breeze ruffled the ends of her hair. Skylar sighed and leaned back against the roof, eyes turned upward towards the sky, its deep blue mirrored in her own gaze. Just another beautiful spring day. There wasn't much to do at the moment, there never was. She'd expected more adventure in being a soldier, but... Right now, it was just endless training. When she moved up in the ranks, it'd be endless paperwork instead, or so she heard. Still, maybe it was good that things were peaceful right now. It was better than wartime. Though she had yet to experience actual life-or-death combat, let alone a full-blown war, Skylar couldn't exactly say she was looking forward to killing people. But if it was for the good of her country... she could do it. She'd have to do it, if lives depended on it. That's what being a soldier was all about. "Skylar! Get down here!" Skylar blinked, moving to lean over the edge of the roof so she could get a closer look at just who was scolding her now. Oh... oops. Maybe she shouldn't have stayed up here so long. Skylar recognized the guy, another soldier, the same rank as she was. "Hurry up!" "I'm coming, I'm coming!" In a single, fluid motion, Skylar lowered herself down, and then let go, dropping to the ground easily. She landed face to face with the man who'd been yelling at her. Part of her wanted to tell him to mind his own business and leave her alone, but... she was a soldier now. She'd have to get used to being yelled at and obeying orders. And it was such a nice day... It'd stink to ruin it by arguing. So Skylar settled for a smirk. "Fine, fine. I'll go train instead of enjoying the view~" Refusing to be bested by this man, she darted ahead of him. Skylar heard him call for her to wait, but... He wasn't a higher rank than her or anything. It was alright to leave him in the dust. As far as ranks were concerned, she'd be leaving him in the dust soon anyways, or at least, she couldn't wait to. "Skylar, WAIT!" She heard him call out, clearly out of breath from trying to keep up with her. Skylar only grinned. "Weren't you just telling me to hurry up? Come on, we've got work to do!" |
