This is my character.. Surge I've basically extracted the main character from a novel i'm writing, and hopefully using a non-FMA related country is ok... Name: Surge Nempheus State Name: (You must take the test first) Alias/Nickname: Surge Age: 27 Gender: Male Race: Human Nationality: Drachman Height:6 foot 8 inches Weight:168.8 Eye color: Green Hair color: Dark Blonde Hair Style: Surge has a long fringe that he frequently combs to obscure his scarred eye. His hair is straight and is of about neck length Clothing: Surge has a penchant for dark clothes and long jackets, his ideal outfit would be black slacks hanging down over pointed boots, a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up covered by a long dusty black coat reaching down to his ankles with lots of pockets. Overall Pic: Surge has a gentle enough face that has been scarred badly by many battles. He has a long scar over his right aye and three scars along the left side of his jaw that partially stretch down his neck. Personality: Surge is quite enough in the presence of people he doesn't know, tending to observe things before getting involved. When in the presence of people he feels comfortable with he is quite extrovert. He has a dark sense of humour. He believes strongly in the concept of a dog eat dog world and applies this to his life and his work. Likes: Surge likes the smell of night air, being comfortbly cold and stiff, a nice drink and a bag of chips. He likes to occupy himself and sleep in late when he gets the chance. Dislikes: The one thing Surge really hates is control freaks, and people who seem to live in their own perfect little worlds, no matter what the real one presents. Skills: Surge has a two circles tatooed to his hands which harness energy from the surrounding enviorment which allow him to augment his senses and pysichal abilities eg. Strength. He is better suited to using blades and guns. He has a proficency in hand to hand which he learnt quickly on the streets at an early age. Weapons: A precision rifle (sniper rifle), knives and a short sword Transportation: Public Transport/On foot Family: Surge's father was a violent alchoholic and frequently beat him, his younger brother and his mother. At the age of fourteen his father came home in his worst rage ever. He attacked Surge's mother calling her a traitor. Surge grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to stop his father, who he ascertains would have killed his mother if he hadn't stepped in. However he simply turned his rage to him and Surge ended up killing him while defending himself. He and his brother were sent into foster care. His mother suffers from alzheimers and lives in a home paid for by him. His brother went under ground at age fifteen after learning the truth about his father's death. History: When Surge was placed into foster care he spent a lot more time on the streets as he was dissilusioned with where his life had lead him. He was a member of a small time youth gang and with them he made a lot of connections that would eventually lead to his later career. At the age of sixteen he became involved in more serious gangs, gangs that controlled much of the Drachma's drugs and weapons trade. Surge quickly made a good living in these gangs as he had no qualms with killing, unlike some of the other youths the gangs dragged up off the streets. By the age of twenty one Surge was no longer some dumb enforcer that couldn't spell, he was trusted with a lot more work and commanded more respect than most people his age. Surge made his living as an assasin, taking up contracts first with his gang, but eventually with anyone, working freelance. He was never really killed because he made sure he was always in somebody powerful's good books, he was never even arrested because he took up so many contracts with the government. At the age of twenty five Surge was given a simple contract by the government, he was to kill a small student run revolutionary group, but he found that for the first time in his life that he couldn't do it. The targets were all young and posed no threat at all, they had never shown any signs of becoming violent or having connections to anything illegal. Surge knew that if he didn't go through with the contract he would be seen to have gone soft and would be thought of as a sudden inconvienince to the gangs and the government. He fled the country using his accumulated savings and after spending a year dissapearing he applied for citizenship in Amestris and used what was left of his money to grease the wheels of government. So that's that... Edit: I've fixed all the problems (i hope) |

'Stood in the firelight, sweltering. Bloodstain on chest like map of new continent. Felt cleansed. Felt dark planet turn under my feet and knew what cats know that makes them scream like babies in the night. Looked at the sky through smoke heavy with human fat, and god was not there. The cold, suffocating dark goes on forever, we are alone. Live our lives, lacking anything better to do. Devise reason later. Born from oblivion, bear children, hell bound as ourselves go into oblivion. There is nothing else. Existence is random, has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it to long. No meaning save what we choose to impose. This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not god who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It's us, only us.' Rorshcach - Alan Moore's Watchmen | |

First off History is too short, 2 paragraphs 5-7 sentences next you have to use a country related to FMA because this is the FMA universe and we can't really stray from it saying there was another country when it never was mentioned also please explain by what you mean by a precision rifle, i'm assuming you mean a sniper rifle and i'll let Fayt take a look at your alchemy see if he finds any discrepancy |

well it looks good to me but i still want Fayt, alchemy specialist, to check on your alchemy because i'm not sure i've heard of manipulating flames before, i mean i've heard of creating it in the case of Mustang but never like manipulating not sure though. |

oh ok then if can you please state exactly how you do it because to create fire you do need a spark for example Mustangs gloves. and change manipulating to creating so people don't get confused, like me lol |

Well I would have said lighter/mathces but I suppose that falls into manipulating then doesn't it? Damn this is harder than I thought  I'm just gonna leave out the fire alchemy thing, probably easyer in the long run |

haha yes FMA is alot harder then most other RPGs because Alchemy is a science and it also has rules like Equivalent Exchange. But also since you know how to use general alchemy then you're not limited to fire and also you can do what my character does, he uses Heat Alchemy which is almost like fire but you never see a flame, with Heat Alchemy I can melt metals directly from the earth and move them up to create like a steel column and change its direction by heating it in a certain spot which will a gust in that area causing it to move. Its not that hard i mean you're only limited by science lol >.> |

I think I have an idea for one. Two circles that harness energy from surrounding particles or from friction, one circle uses this energy to augment the body's senses and physical ability while the other expells the energy as a sort of weapon type thing... Thanks for the encouragement Damn you laws of reality! |

Well if you think about it in a way Mustang IS manipulating the flames by concentrating the O2 so you could do the same thing with a match or lighter... |

Yes he does but Mustang uses the spark, he could do it with matches though and the lighter might work too but essentially he needs the spark because if you saw near the end of FMA SPOILER WARNING Mustang was fighting the Fhurer in his home and fire was all around him but mustangs couldn't produce the flame because he didn't make the spark, and yes i know the Fhurer was creating wind to stop him but there was fire all around him so he could have placed his hand on the ground to manipulate the fire but he didn't :/ |

Ok well General Alchemy is allowed BUT you must realize something YOU ARE LIMITED since you know General Alchemy that means you know all of the alchemy but since you practice all of them you are very limited because you can't master a single one. So when you RP please make sure you limit your alchemy, I mean sure you can do simple things but you can't just decide to create a 100 foot skyscraper for the heck of it because your knowledge is limited. But before I can actually approve you where is your Transmutation Circles? |

Well the idea behind the circles was that they harnessed energy from surrounding particles such as heat that could be generated from flames, friction etc. I'm probably wrong here but does that not work under the law of equivalent exchange? |

Deadly! I won't undertake the huge taboo of asking 'what's the book about?', but good look in getting it published, if your that far into it that you have hopes of getting it published before the end of summer then your much further than me, I've been working on this one in some shape or form for about four years now and still have nothing but three half finished versions and eight pages of what i consider to be almost the final project ![]() It's definitely much harder than i would have thought... |
