i owned a charade (1st gen) first... problems? 1. faulty carb 2. fuel pump dead 3. gotta push the car at dewan bahasa and pustaka on a saturday afternoon while fetching a gal for outing (damn embarassed!) 4. when rain, i got my personal swimming pool. and the water rise in my car is faster than the flood in Johor. 5. found the firewall is full off hole.. sold it off after 5 months driving it. second car was 1980 galant sigma 1. car have carb tuning problem. the carb is from a GT car, so tuning is hassle. i need an equipment to monitor the rev, CO, CO2, HC and O2 just to tune the carb. 2. changed ICE... 3. car turned turtle (and the car was mint condition) third is the 120Y now i got the car from my parents (that time only 19) after my galant accident, never looked at the car and i don't have experience in cars yet. when i took in the car, 1. smells like dead fish 2. rotten carpet (been using it for 6 years, changed in recent restoration) 3. squeaky chassis 4. leaking window rubber 5. lousy ICE 6. engine blow black smoke after driving for only 2 months 7. car alignments all out after changed engine (after only 2 months driving) until now, 1. rear axle gone due to too much torque (wheelspin) 2. exhaust punctured due to rusts and extra pressure 3. ignition coil dead 4. all spring gone 5. changed rear absorbers twice already 6. changed Gearbox 7. changed the whole aircond system except the cooling coil. 8. changed carburetor 9. changed fuel pump 10. changed bonnet after accident 11. under carriage rusts problem. 12. this is my 3rd set of full exhaust system... this is all i can remember... |

Hey fellow datto bro's . Got a bit of datto spirit back, so went home yesterday n put the rear end on supports n reved it in gear. Theres still vibration, with the wheels off the ground. On closser inspection, I notice 2nd half of the shaft has ever so slight wobble. ( the shaft has 2 parts, one short one from Transmission to center, n a longer one from center to axle). Anyone have any ideas/recommendations on what can be done. Also notices a kind of clunking sound everytime ichange gear n drop the clutch. Like metal n metal, especially on heavy loads. Some wear n tear maybe? |

2 pieces? thought long shaft are normally in 1 piece with couplings in the end of the shaft. C===========D is yours? C=====%=====D |

thats right. My shaft is like C=====%=====D According to the mech it came with the later models of the B310. It has a shaft support also along the 1st half ( tranny to center). The 2nd half is wabbling. I also have a spare long shart (C===========D). Reconned unit. When that was On, it also had vibrations. hmmmmm. I wonder what could be the problem. |

letr or not... you don't need 2 link shafts... normally only lorries uses 2 links because the GB and the axle are far apart and the GB are off align from the axle. our B310s (mine's the final model) uses only single piece shaft. our GB are aligned with the axle. i might be wrong, but the more links you have the easier for it to wobble due to more moving parts. change to those single link... get from chop shop or buy new. i'll recomend new... it'll lasts very long. |
