Man, im totally demotivated to keep my 120Y or even drive that thing. since i have got it I have spent all my savings on it n it still does not look good, neither is it a powerfull car ( not necessarily fast) and its like a leach sucking up my funds. But thats ok. I dont mind the money, I just dont see the returns. Ppl dont give the car a care, when you drive it on the road, when you take it to the mechs. Fix it a bit then say enough, or dont really bother much with getting it fixed. I have spent F*&$ing RM500 on the F*&% drive shaft, and the F*&&ing thing still F*^#ing wobbles. everytime check with mech, he'll take it out, rotate it n ask me to try, n it still woobles. The damn car still leaks.... RM 1500 on welding n it still F&^%ing floods. Took the thing to the body shop guy 3 times. the rubbers replaced n I still cant trace the source of the leaks, n neither are some shops even interested to help. WTF. last weekend i took the car to check the starter n guess what, the previous owner of a F&^# put in the wrong starter. So what now, its grinded itself as well as the whole F&*^ing flywheel. F^$@ this man. That was the last straw. i was pretty much bummed the whole weekend. I told my dad he can have the car. Im not interested to drive it already. I keep fixing it, giving it care and no improvement. Man, I feel so F^$$ing demotivated.

Sorry for the long long story n the profanities. Im just feeling so frustrated at the moment. Its like there's no where to turn. The mechs I deal with are good, they know their shit, but they feel its worthless to spend so much of their time on a old car.

relax bro.. i can surely understand ur feelings. sometimes there's nothing wrong with the car.. but its just the mechanic. having the wrong mechanic can make u go through hell. just like u say going to the body shop 3 times n still the leak problem is not solved.. means the guy himself is not a pro in finding the leakages. force them to fix the problem or else dont pay till they get it right. u can try going to another workshop. perhaps they might be able to solve ur problem. but make sure u have heard good remarks and testimonial about the workshop. final words.. patience is the key to success.

PS: i bet my a** u are gonna miss ur datto once u get urself something else :)

i understand your feelings about people that we paid them and they treat our cars like shits.

RM500 for drive shaft? you mean the long shaft connecting the gearbox and the rear axle? no point in rotating it as the thing rotates as well. if the thing is not balanced it'll never be balanced. you can claim the shaft back as it is inferior goods unless you got it from chop shop.

that is why i only go to mechs that does the job for interest.. not for the money. over the 7 years i have this car, i've spent more than 14k to change parts. this is not inclusive of engine oil and other wear and tear parts. the most was the recent restoration costs total almost 6k. but having this car that fun to drive, i rather to pass on even toyota altis offer.

yea, initially the original 3 CV joint shaft's bearing were all screwed, so I replaced it with a long shaft for temperory use. I the sent the shaft for rework, all new bearings n balancing. when I put it back it was a bit better, but the tail end still wobbles. Its either the shaft or the rear rims.

I know their old cars, n with them you need patients, but its just pissing off, that no one shares your views. My dad does, he's even more patient then me, n he still insists trying to find out the problems one at a time.

Sometimes ifeel, if im gonna fork out a whole load of money on a car, the car has to mean something to me, or really be my love. am I write on this.

OCP, you have been using your ride for a long time, n I understand that it definitly has sentimental values. Im sure its worth every cent you have invested in it.

All this said, Im sure my dad's gonna somehow brain wash me into working back on the datsun.. hahaha.. but I wanna merajuk longer la. haha. At least now got money to buys some new clothes. hahahah

tell you one thing....

unless you're running on modded axle or gearbox, you're running on stock long shaft.

if you're on stock long shaft, it is a waste of money to send it for balancing and works! it doesn't worth it! ask abubu. buying a new made in japan long shaft costs nothing more than RM300 (4 years ago, should be about 400now). you get a balanced shaft with new joints.

i understand that those that modded their axle need to have modded shafts need to send it for balancing and works as there is no original parts for them. but for you it is not. plus, don't buy cheap shafts. it is not balanced and worst it'll take out the rear axle and GB bearing with the wobbling.

just lift the rear up on a jack stand, start the car and let it on 1st gear... let the car's rear turn by itself... see where the wobbling starts... make usre got someone inside the car to press the brakes incase the car wobble too hard.

When they said they were balancing the shaft, what they really did was to aling the CV centeres. So that it sits straight. :)

Well, I dont think Ill be doing anything in the car anytime soon. Nor would I be in the mood to drive it. :) .

if I plan to proceed, i think ill look for a A15. Since the A12 now needs a new flywheel. The engine has to come out, so what better time to upgrade to a A15. Oh well, we'll c how it goes. :)

Its not that expensive to change the starter n flywheel. But once the engine is out better do the other things, also need to replace the clutch all to save from future headaches. Local skrap yards are crap la. I checked the enxt town. They have A15... RM600 +. its ok, n its not really about the money. DIY can, i know what to do, But sometool I dont have, N some things I cant do alone. U have the Haynes manual also ( passed to me by my mech) .

Its more of the frustration. Its like u put in so much time, effort, money, n no returns. I spend everyweekend with the car. Most of my cash on it, most of my free time researching n studying it. N like this the condition remains. No respect.
