20-50 is heavy during cold and heavy when hot... unless your car is burning engine oil, this viscosity only will increase fuel consumption and reduce engine power. |

my car not burning engine oil...hardly smokes even when revved hard...jus overhaul bah...so 20-50 ok lah?..mech recomen me 20-50...never i see use anyting other than that b4 |

if you're running 20W50 and got black smoke... then you gotta make noise with your mech. at that thickness, the oil is basically feels like dunlop gam. anyway, since you've just overhaul the engine, it is recomended to use normal mineral oil to let the engine season, after 2 5000km service interval, you must flush the engine to remove the metal residue, and new piston rings and rebored cyclinder wall can create lots of wear. then only use semi synthetic or fully synthetic. even with my old A15 which never overhauled, i'm still using 10W40. |
