Microsoft is releasing a new addition into the Windows XP family. The new member is called Windows XP N. The ‘N’ means No Media Player. Why you ask? Well it seems that there is an antitrust war going on between Microsoft and the European Union. The Union overpowered Microsoft last year by fining them 497 million euros or $608 million. So to “punish” the Union, Microsoft is releasing Windows XP N and is making it the same price as the standard Windows XP. So buyers are paying the same price for fewer features. This brings up many questions on how this will effect computer sales in Europe.

Windows XP N is available in: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Ten more languages will be added on in July.

The world's largest software maker had to change its Windows operating system after EU antitrust regulators ruled last year that it abusively wielded its Windows monopoly and locked out competitors.
