is it just me or is katara losing her healing powers. when we first found out she had healing powers her hands healed instantly. and when aang got shot by azula she made him come back to life, even though she had spirit water she still made him come back to life. but in DoBS her dad got hurt, and it wasnt a life threating wound, and it took her a long time to heal it. it took so long sokka had to go back to the battlefield instead of waiting. do you think shes losing healing powers :katara5:

well for one, sokka had to go back to battle because they were on a tight schedule before the eclipse. second, it didnt say it wasnt life threatening. not to mention notice he was in that small room when all the smoke came through, she may had to even clear out his lungs and such. theres all these different things that couldve happened that she had to fix individually, because i really think she needs to heal each thing individually, like when aang got shot she just had to heal from the wound on to the heart, and the first time she just healed these light burns. its not a matter of losing her ability, but just it becoming more noticeably flawed.

It's called the plot hole. lol. jk.

I agree that the level of healing is probably different (and she took weeks to heal Aang, remember) I don't know if she recieved any other healing training when at the North Pole besides that one lesson... and if she did its not a bending form/art that is easily learned. Even Jeong Jeong said the great waterbenders can do this. Katara is a great waterbender and is fortunate that healing came to her without knowledge, but it doesn't me she is a prodegy (sp?) at healing. I don't think she is losing any power, just progressing slower.

As I reread the paragraph above I am slightly confused and I wrote it! lol! Hopefully you people understand what I'm trying to say...

As Earthbend said when Katara was burned it was only second degree which means (from the size) would have healed without a scar anyway. All she probably did was replaced the water she had lost from the burn. I don't think she did much healing at all there. With Aang, she had that Oasis water remember. Her dad probably had burns, every though they never really she show the wound. There's also a very likely chance of a broken rib, which means he, because it was an explosion, had at least internal bruising most likely light internal bleeding. So, No she hasn't really shown any decrease in power.

precisely. its gonna take longer to heal someone if they have smoke in their lungs, a broken bone or two, internal bleeding, and internal bruising than if they have minor wounds such as second-degree burns.

i think she could probably still heal zuko's scar if she had enough time, but it would probably take a long long LONG time.

I don't think she would even with him on the same side. It would be WAY WAY too much work. Technically the his skin is healed, so she might not even be able to do anything.

true true. oh, and i wasnt saying she would choose to, i doubt that even if she liked him, which is a 1 in one google chance of happening.

What I was saying about her healing it didn't have to with it being him, it had to with that it would be way to much. They might even have to cut open the scar so that she can heal it to normal skin.

That's what I think. I mean, scarring is a natural part of healing... I'm pretty sure it's tissue that just replaces the normal skin layer... not really a wound.
I don't think Katara could heal it if she wanted to anyway, after 3 years.

than the question arises from that, could she have been able to heal his scar with the water from the spirit oasis? or wouldn't it have just not worked. As aeyame and avagirl have pointed out, its not really a wound anymore...
