for those who fought in ww1, one of the least remembered wars.
for those who fought in the war of 1812, the one war no one cares about.
for those who fought in vietnam, the war to have the most controversey and protest.
for those who are fighting in iraq, the war that is being driven out longer by the government and made to seem injust by the media.

my cousins going back to iraq soon. it affects my mom the most because she was a teenager when he was a little kid...

what really pisses me off is how little we get to see about whats really going on. the media does whatever it can to get viewers. the government tells us nill to none, and people are going crazy about the tiny things now. i'm starting to think our country is going the way of the roman empire...

Why doesn't anyone care about the war of 1812? I mean, it's where our national anthem was written. It's an important war. I probably know the most about it than anyone else at my school.

My Dad: No, but our dog talks

i care...just not that much. all i know about it is it took place around the year 1812, it involved a battle at ft mchenry, which is in my state, the white house was burned down, they used privateer boats to fight, and the last battle was in louisiana and it was fought by andrew jackson...yawn, not nearly as interesting as 'nam or ww2

It's pitiful how little everyone really knows about Iraq. Media only shows the bad and our government is just bickering over it instead of acting.

I know this post says it Dec 8th, but where I live its still Dec 7th, so what I say isn't a day late...

December 7th, 1941 was Pearl Harbor and marked the entrance of the United States' involvment in WWII.. and almost know one in my school today knew that. And the one teacher who I expected to bring it up was absent (He teaches US History but I have him for sociology). It hurts my heart a little on how forgotten Pearl Harbor is...

In a couple of decades, will September 11th be just as forgotten and tossed around unmeaningfully?

And anyone who is serving/served in the armed forces protecting our country is getting my appreciation and admiration today :) Their courage far outmatches mine.

4nations, sept 11 will be forgotten LONG earlier then that. pearl harbor was a whole lot bigger. they attacked the entire us navy, and if we werent lucky at the time to have our bigger ships farther out a the time we wouldve lost most of the navy.

and airmonk, i agree with you entirely. i mean, its truthfully not as bad for our troops over there than it is for the people that have had to live there their whole lives. i mean, atleast our troops have guns to protect themselves...
