Because you take supplements. You probably have to take vitamins and protein supplements and what not.
Yeah there are only factory farms in the US. I did not know that people gave up every single family farm. So when I was buying meat from the family farms I was actually buying from factory farms. Whoops.
Well the only reason there are crazy populations like deer in Wisconsin is because the elimination of natural predators. I don't support culling because of one reason. Elephants. Elephants who were culled were put in highly stressed situations which made them super aggresive and some even have PTSD. So I think relocation is best along with restoration of natural predators. |

What I don't like is that fact that people DO hunt to keep the animal populations down. What about our population? It's larger than most animals! |

Correction: Environment.
;) I was a vegetarian. For about a month, then I failed. :P But yeah, I agree, people do need to take care of the environment more. ;) |

I don't know how to do the thing where you quote lots of times so I'll say my arguments on the topics covered in this thread before. Melting ice caps: We won't suffer a massave flood because the ice caps melt, ice displaces the same amount of water as it would replace. if they were to melt it wouldn't be an ice cap just a water cap. Second ice age: We could survive one. We've survived one before, and that was just mamoth skins and fire. Now that we have materials like Gore-tex and Thinsulate and inventions like heaters we will survive, plus we still have fire. Hunting: If the hunters are fine with ending a life thats their problem. Personally, I wouldn't be able to pull the trigger or let go of an arrow. To me it is ok as long as you will use the meat or skins some way. Hunting to show off how many deer you killed, is wrong. cO2/greenhouse gasses: We cant help it. Our lifestyle depends on cars, trucks, planes, and factories. We can try, but our path is irreversible. There is no way we can go back to living like we once did. We can, however, form a new path. as science changes we may be more fuel effecient, make less greenhouse gas. take action before the effects happen, not worry till it does then take action. Vegitarianism: its your body, if you dont want to get enough protien thats up to you. but in not to convert to vegitarianism anytime soon, because 1) i need protien, i run a mile 3 days a week, play softball every weekend and practice every other day.(i am not saying in any way im the most athletic, fastest, strongest, or skinnyest) and 2) i like the taste of meat....exept hamburgers. thats what i believe. i wrote a paper for current events about all of this (exept vegetarianism) |

Well the problem (for us anyway) is not the ice in water but the ice on land. Antarctica is on land and so is Greenland therefore they do not contribute to the ocean's sea level. From an ecological standpoint you have just wiped out several species if just the arctic ocean goes. Polar bears, Foxes, Belugas, seals all depend on the arctic and ice
But I bet the infant mortality rate at that time was high. and deaths. We can insulate ourselves but the resources neeeded would be huge. Just look at the ice storm at Quebec in 1998. It was the largest deployment of military forces since the Korean war. At that lasted only 6 days. There were 35 deaths, 28 in Canada, and 945 were injured. Imagine that for a lot longer and a lot worse.
While i agree with your statement, I'm using it to point out one thing. Becoming environmentally friendly does not mean going out and living like trappers did in 1845, in a log cabin with no heating. All it means is finding alternative sources of energy that reduce or eliminate greenhouse gas emissions. |

Human beings are omnivorous by nature - we have both teeth developed for eating meat, and teeth developed for eating plants. There are also proteins in meat that the human body needs. With a LOT of work, it can sometimes be simulated in plants, but not well, and it wouldn't work as good as with meat (Scientific fact here, not opinions) I also recently saw an article that stated that the hole in the Ozone layer has shrunk. We're already starting to fix the problem. |

Our version of population control is wars. To be honest the reason we're bad for the environment is because while most animals kill each other when their is to little room for them all, we've learned how to build up and condense our populations. If we had more wars populations would decrease, but I pray that no one would actually condone action based off this fact. |

these are my favorite topics i'm glad kataang brought this up... at first i thought global warming was all mans fault. but lately i've been figuring out that isnt all true. not just because of the ice age. before the age of mammals there were giant lizards(dinosaurs)! half the reason lizards didnt just come back (dinosaurs and tpre-dinosaurs had been off and on for around 300 million years) because of climate change. reptiles need sunlight to warm their bodies, so with that logic the ozone layer had to have been very low to support thousands of different giant lizards. i've always loved animals and originally wanted to become a vegetarian. then i realized i personally couldnt survive without a juicy steak every now and then. even so, meat isnt all fat, just the ones served as fast food is. hunter-gatherers were hunters, thats why we dont have sabertooths or giant sloths anymore...we hunted them to extinction! as for the arctic its evolution. its painful to see animals in pain because of it, but so is watching a lion bite into the neck of a gazelle. humans have the greatest burden, imagination to create and morals. our imagination has helped us create the uniquely bizarre ideas that are commonplace today (industry especially) and our moralities have helped us from completely destroying nature by now. to counter myself, i've been studying in school about an ancient civilization in india. they were advanced and survived in the lush area they lived in for centuries, but researchers now think the civilization was destroyed because its farming over used the environment, leading to many natural disasters. i think i heard the area they lived in is now a desert, but whatever |

um...i work out for 2 hours every day, i have games every sunday, go to weights 2 days a week, and thats only my off season. im ecercising every day and once my seson starts ill be playing 2 4 6-7 min quarters for water polo. nad i could have up to 10 practices in 5 days if i make vorsity (and like you im not saying that im the most athletic and such....and im not the lightest..115 lbs) i get protein through veggies and such. what im saying is that im healthy though all of that im still able to get enough protien even though im working out that much.
i take a supplement in the morning, but it has nothing to do with protien. its a supplement that women should take in general, carnivore or vegitarian. i hardly take any at all-sometimes i have an ensure but i usually forget.

I condone wars for the people stupid enough to fight them. If they choose to fight then they choose not to survive. Yes, my main reason is that fact. So what? The world is vastly over populated. Much more and we'll suffocate ourselves! |

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Plants were not an available food supply in the Ice Age. Productivity was lower than it was now and places like the Amazon in South America were grasslands and savannas.
We developed intelligence instead.
It was mostly because of the giant asteroid that was that came from space and hit the Yucatan peninsula. You know that one that left the Chicxulub Crater. They were in decline yes but that did not wipe them out and prevent them from living. Anyway they still are here today. They are birds. And higher temps do not mean a weak ozone. It could be based off a number of things. The earth's wobble. greenhouse gases. Many different things. |

and WHERE exactly has that got us? into mutliple useless wars that the only thing accomplished is people dying? to invent guns which are used to kill innocent and helpless animals nand humans? to create bombs that are used to kill innocent humans and start wars? wow. i can REALLY sww where intelligence took us to. killing. how barbaric and in-human. |

Funny thing is you are arguing about how our intelligence is bad from a computer. If you feel so strongly about that, then ditch all technology and go naked into the wild and live your entire life there. |
