I dunno, I was way more irritated at Tom than at Ben this episode. And I like Tom.
Call me crazy, but I'm not really feeling how NTAC (and Tom) think it's cool to stomp all over civil liberties. (Bringing in little old ladies because they blog about promicin, encouraging Shawn not to hold a peaceful assembly. Could they stomp on the First Ammendment any more explicitly?) We get plenty of that in real life, thank you very much. And yes, I realize Tom is a pragmatist and he's "just trying to do his job." That doesn't mean he has to toe the company line so willingly. Look at Diana: she manages to do her job AND voice her dissent. It's hard not to look at NTAC like Big Brother when they keep acting like it. Regardless of who's pulling the strings. |

I just don't like Diana's attitude lately, I dont' know, I can't really put my finger on it. She's always been the more "lets look at it from the other angle" kind of person but lately she just is acting a little different. I don't like her as much in this season so far. |

My review has been written and typed. Enjoy! 7:05 -Sweet little opening. I like Ms. parker, she seems like a kind and gentle elderly lady. -Sad that she lived her life alone (then again, it's a life I picture myself living so...) -Astral projection, must be nice to get the chance to live life twice, especially since she's back to being young again. -Smart that she is posting her blog and whenever it gets shut down she posts it up again. Goes to show she will not be supressed. -Not certain about Doyle though since she wants Parker to be stopped even though she's harmless. -Fun to see Diana's attitude and going against Doyle. It's a side we never really got to see much of in previous seasons, so I'm liking this other side of her. You know she had a happy life in Spain and now she's had to come back to Seattle and look for April. I can understand why she's irrated on being back so I don't blame her attitude at all. Afterall, she is only being human- I'm sure each of us can relate one way or another. 7:19 -Enjoying the episode. -I think I'm starting to like Doyle a little more for some reason. Guess she's growing on me. -That was good of Tom to stay and let her talk about her father. The after hours part, not so sure about. -Knew Doyle would want Shawn to heal her father but it makes sense since he has been that way for ten years. Sad that DC said no (go figure). -Great for Shawn to recruit Heather Tobey. It was so great to see her again. I've always liked her. -Hope he gets the Center open. -Ben & Maia are back!!! Yae!!! I was so thrilled for their return, I thought it wouldn't be for another few episodes, glad it was sooner. Nice of them to surprise Diana. Very sweet of the both of them to check in on Maia as she was sleeping- I was reminded of how much I love their relationship (Ben & Diana's and Diana & Maia's). -Aw how sad, Ms. Parker died. I bet it was the art manager that killed her. -Gosh Kyle, a $100 dollar donation, a little much. Then again he did just steal the book. I'm glad though I was dying to know what else was in there. 7:30 -Sweet, Audrey is communicating from the dead! -Good thing Ben saved the message (see he did something right!) -Shawn is really crossing some lines by wanting to re-open the Center and with Heather by his side. He's doing a great job though, proving to the world that they will not be silenced. I can only imagine what Jordan Collier will do once he finds out about Shawn's return. Don't really think Shawn is going to be wanting to get into bed with Collier any time soon (so to speak). -I'm surprised Audrey is hauting Diana and not TOm since they were working on the case together. -Way to go Marco for doing his geek thing in cracking through the static from the phone messages. 7:39 -I like this episode. It's starting to slow down a bit but it's good. -Head of NTAC going to meet Shawn personally, I'm impressed. Something Jarvis never did, granted Doyle has a personal motive but still. -Smart move on Shawn's part to ask Doyle what her personal position was. I really wish she had answered but it was also good of her to not answer since she needs to trust him first. -I like that Audrey is hanging around Diana; like when she was interrogating Wilson and the machine went haywire. 7:48 -OMG! Lucas killed Ms. Parker- I never even thought of considering him, he totally slipped passed my radar. -Kyle better meet Cassie at 2 a.m. I don't want her to go away. I wonder what's going to happen at the location she mentioned? -Shawn got arrested, I knew that was coming since he was taking a big risk by trying to heal people. -Look forward to the rest of the episode. 8:00 -What an awesome ending! -Way to go Tom for saving Shawn's skin- must be nice to flash that NTAC badge around. -OMG! Isabelle has escaped custody and Kyle was the one that caught her! I cannot believe that just happened. I actually screamed outloud and had to cover my mouth so I could hear what was going on. -Heather Tobey in Shawn's office, that's a nice change. -Aw how sweet of Diana & Ben to be dancing in the kitchen and listening to Audrey Parker's favorite song. I thought that moment between them was sweet. I will admit I was half expecting Maia to come into the room and give another of her one of her visions. (Why did I have to think of the season 2 ender with Diana and Marco? Bad me!) Favorite Quotes -"I'll go put on the riot gear. Tom get the tear gas."- Diana -"Well at least you're an educated tyrant."- Audrey Parker -"In the mean time, we're trying to be a family and families don't live on seperate continents."- Ben -"Now I'm sorry, it's time to let this go."- Tom to Diana -"I'm sorry, Audrey."- Diana -"Nothing changes on its own and besides you said you didn't want to be alone."- Heather Tobey -"His name's Donald, he's my father. I'd be grateful if you could help him."- Megahan Doyle -"I all ready know what she's saying: she's saying goodbye."- Diana End Notes -One other thing: Cassie is Kyle's ability but I just thought she was apart of him like his subconcious or something. How did she know about that acr accident at 2 a.m. and how did she know Isabelle Tyler would be in the van? Just what exactly would you call Kyle's ability anyway? -I was going to rate this episode a 9 flat but after the ending, it's made it's way up to a 10. -When they said season 4 was going to be one of the best yet, they sure meant it! -Way to go to the writers, the cast, and the rest of the crew of "The 4400". I look forward to next week! |

Ah, yeah, I had the same reaction too! At first I thought maybe he took the $100 from the guy's bag (or a donation that was already there) but I rewinded (yay, DVR!) and nope, it looks like it came right out of his pocket. Where is he getting that kind of money? Does being a 4400 spokesman really pay that well? And I also thought it was a bit much, but considering he was stealing a part of the exhibit...
I was thinking along the same lines. And remember when she said something like "if you don't show up I'll be gone forever" (what was the exact quote?) Huh? Since when do abilities just up and go when they feel like they're being ignored? I would call Kyle's ability a conduit to the future. I think that was what his ability was originally supposed to be when he was almost abducted. (Shawn went in his place and got the healing ability instead.) Perhaps this was the form his ability was supposed to take all along. Either way, Cassie certainly seems like she has a direct line to the future to be giving Kyle such specific directions/advice. Maybe Cassie's Al to Kyle's Sam. (Except Kyle doesn't time travel or periodically dress in drag. Or at least not yet! :P) The song at the end? Loved it, too. I liked that Audrey Parker. She had good taste. |

This show keeps getting better and better. I didn't know that there was a Ban towards using 4400 abilities in public and it showed their reaction. good stuff. but the ending. Ha. go isabelle. For some reason, i feel that the encrypted message will reveal some crazy power and kyle or isabelle is going to find it. |

First off, yeesh, not one of the best episodes. The new ability was boring and not at all inventive, Ben came back, and Isabelle's out of her cage again! What is this show coming to! Everybody's made excellent points though. I enjoyed reading all of them!
The day she does become evil is the day I have a heart attack because I think Heather is the sweetest character on that show. I was overjoyed to see her back. I didn't realize she was that big a deal to me until tonight. And the fact that she stood by Shawn's side during this whole crisis just had me whooping her on. Aww, Shawn lying on the floor, feeling like he's run a marathon. OHMYGODHOWCUTEISTHAT?!IT'SREALLYFREAKINGCUTETHAT'SHOWCUTEITIS!YEAH!! Okay, sorry, I just had to get that out. It saves my family from having to hear me screaming it at them, ha, ha. I hate this smilie but: I weak!Shawn.
Preach it! I was like, "So what if Diana wants to go to a poor old lady's funeral. She was a victim! What is your problem? -Oh that's right, you suck!" I thought for a moment that Ben was the killer but it didn't quite add up... (That doesn't mean he's not going to be in another episode!)
My sister guessed that before it ended as well. After the Phil Wilson guy was cleared, I didn't know who else to pick. I need to work on my detective skills.
Totally felt the same way. I think what kind of turned me off overall was the old lady's acting voice. I don't know; it just felt too scripted to me. Sure, she was writing a blog but that doesn't mean she should talk as if she's reading one. (Yes, I can tell he difference.) But, I don't know, it could be something else...
See, yeah, maybe it was that. She was very drawl. I thought the actress playing "young Audrey" was timeless looking but boring nonetheless.
I did slow-motion on his facial expressions with my DVR. He purses his lips a lot-I love it! For being in such a dark room, Marco sure does make the episode brighter, huh? I could just feel my dreariness about the episode being cleared simply by looking at his (and Shawn's) face.
I got that sort of vibe as well. That Isabelle and Kyle might... As long as she's away from Shawn, I'm happy!
